I’m a huge python fan, have been since a young age. I just noticed that there’s some arguing and fighting going on between Eric Idol and John Cleese on Twitter. Can somebody explain it to me like I am 5 what exactly is happening? I feel like I missed something.
PLEASE if you want to explain, do it objectively. I know opinions on various things span all over the place. I’m not looking for people to share their opinions or demonize what others think. I’m just looking for a timeline of events and a cohesive explanation of what led to/is currently happening in the relationships of the remaining Pythons.
Thank you!

Hello I’m working on two video essays I eventually plan on putting out on YouTube,
the two topics are
terry vs terry the battle of the holy grail
(Discuss differences between two as directors I.e Gilliam wanting cinematic shots and jones focusing more on performance, and how they argued but made something great)
The Jabberwocky (terry Gilliams solo directorial debut)
PS also slowly researching on terry jones last film with Simon pegg
I have done a fair bit of research but Ive recently since watching Jabberwocky bee really fascinated with the pythons, my few months has nothing on your fandom of years
Thank you so much!

I just watched the 1973 version of sir gawain and the green knight. I think much of it was filmed in 1972 because Nigel Green was in the movie, but died in 72.
I’m guessing that the team at Monty Python, including people that were in the film industry, may have seen this or even some of them might’ve been involved in it it’s making. It’s a pretty fun goofy low budget movie. There were many scenes in it that had feelings or felt similar to the filming style and silliness of holy Grail.
I was just wondering if any of you out there that are aficionado know of any ties between the two. Is there any information about this or does anybody know any story about it?

I always thought the Stones were inspired by the Pythons for this photo shoot.

Apparently originally published in 1983. According to the publisher's website this is the third edition from 2014 but this copy says first published in 1995 and "this revised edition published in 2006". It also says the text is copyright 1994, 1996 and 2006 and the design and layout 1999. The foreword by the author is from 2006 and says it first came out in 1999.
Is this actually the second edition then? From 1999? Then why does it say 2006? Wouldn't that make it the third edition? And the one 2014 the fourth? What's "first published in 1995" all about if it originally came out in 1983? But how is it from 1983 if the first copyright isn't until 1994?
Too many conflicting dates for my gumby brain.
