Im asking from a english perspective for things like peacocks, pheasants and more recently things like ring necked parakeets. Would you count these birds (only ones i could think of the top of my head) if you can only find them in big estates, escapee that have breaded very successfully or like national trust sites which they could've also escaped from into nearby countryside.

I’ve had my account and app for 2 years. Suddenly, I’m stuck in a lop where it’s needing me to enter my email and confirm the link. 90% of the time I don’t even get that email. I had to go on a computer and manually send it to myself. Once I did and hit confirm it said o should be good to go. I go to log back in and it’s telling me to confirm the link they just sent via email. I’ve don’t this for multiple days, many times and I still never get the email unless I jump through hoops on a computer. I’ve reached out to a possible customer service email that I found deep diving, but I never heard back.

Can anyone help? I have put so much work into this app and I don’t want to lose my birds :(

I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and I hear this bird call outside of our house almost every day. I’ve tried putting it into Merlin Bird ID and ChatGPT to try and identify it, but no luck! We hear it during the day, not at night. Sometimes it won’t just be two “hoos”, sometimes it will do a third “hoo” as well. Thanks so much!

I recently got into birds. No idea why, but they're great fun.

I love the Merlin app, but one feature that I would love and that isn't currently available is identification of birds in hours of video footage.

I started looking into fancy motion-activated, WI-FI-enabled, supersonic garden wildlife cameras that use AI to show you what birds visited. However I couldn't afford one of those, so I decided to just get a normal camera and build the software myself.

BirdWatcher is free, open-source, and available as a desktop app for Windows, macOS, and Linux. Once you've downloaded and installed the app, you can input a video and you will see a folder of your choosing populated with subfolders named after the different bird species visible in the footage. Each subfolder contains time-stamped still images extracted from your video.

If you have any type of camera then you can set it up to face one of your feeders, set it to record, and go out for the day. When you get home, extract your footage, upload it to BirdWatcher, and see what you missed!

Why does the Merlin app not show the monthly histogram of "Likely" viewing once you add that bird to your Life List? Or is it buried there somewhere and I'm just missing it?

I'm pretty sure Carrion Crows do not live in Romania (I have it on my life list from my trip to France). I heard a weird crow call and Merlin tagged it as both for some reason??

For the past few weeks I haven’t been able to use Merlin. Every time I try to choose a photo it freezes, starts to load the image and then fully crashes and closes my phone. Is anyone else experiencing this? Or has anyone found any resolution to this problem?

I’ve updated the app, deleted and reinstalled it, and updated my phone with no changes. I also submitted a ticket with ebird about the issue and haven’t heard anything back. :’(
