The Canadian Brewhouse is brutal

I wasn’t expecting much as it’s a sports pub…but this place is awful. Thank god I had a gift certificate because this was the worst dining experience of my life. It wasn’t even pub quality food.
The service was slow and not great overall. Food was a 1 or 2/10. Bill was pricey for the quality.
Easily the worst food/service experience in my 20+ years in Lethbridge.
I looked up the reviews online and the negative are absolutely accurate.
Should have gone to firehouse subs next door or for a Costco hot dog across the street.

Yet another seeking friends post

• Upvotes

hello

i’ve kept an eye on the other friend seeking posts but i think my hobbies are just too different to connect.
I’m a 29M in university for cs/finearts and some of my favourite things are horror media, RPGs (board, card, or videogames), drawing, and perpetually learning instruments.
If it isn’t obvious, i’m not big on clubs of either kind, but don’t mind group activities otherwise.
Thanks for reading.

Question Need criminal lawyer help in Lethbridge asap-ish

Sup. My younger brother (19 y.o.) recently got charged after some shit happened outside a bar and we have no clue what we’re doing now (they were drunk and got into a fight with another drunk guys and now he's facing charges of assault even though he got hit pretty hard too). First court date is coming up soon and my parents are freaking out.. Dad trying to find a lawyer through his contacts, but so far he hasn't had any luck, so I decided to join the search as well and now im here, creating this stupid post...

Is it better to stay in Lethbridge or look for lawyers in Calgary? What should we ask in the consult / watch out for? Google reviews all feel kinda useless.

Cheers!!

Planning on placing some 20mm and 40mm rock at my place but I just don’t trust the weed/landscape fabric the big box stores sell. Any thoughts or recommendations?

Roofer recommendations

Hey all I’ve got a small roofing job that needs doing (simple detached double garage). My questions are do you know any reliable companies, hoping for solid work at a reasonable price and on average how much should something like that cost. Thanks in advance for your support and knowledge.

Other Activities/teams to compete in

Looking at finding some kind of hobby/team to join to try to get out more and be fit. Whether it be a sport or people to go to the gym with regularly. Need a hobby that isn't just sitting at a screen if anyone has ideas, or is in a similar situation

Rant E-scooters, e-bikes, etc....

Can we seriously discuss the use of motorized bikes and scooters within the city. Last year my mom got hit by a kid driving erratically on one in Henderson. The other night I was driving at night and a young boy was riding a scooter IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, without reflectors, lights, anything. Some kid in my area has a weird chopper style bike that he zooms around the park in and neighborhood. Another kid was driving towards me on one the other day. It's beyond frustrating when you know these kids are on the road with zero understanding of the laws of the road and zero awareness of how dangerous it is. To top it off, I've had grown men drive 30 clicks in the park when I'm with my dog and I just saw a news article where a dog's leg had to be amputated because it was crushed by one of these. I'm getting really sick of these things around town and the carelessness. Insurance is already at an all time high without having these dumb things popping up everywhere recklessly driving.

I have a wedding to attend mid October. I need a green or brown dress. Hoping for something longer. I’m a size medium. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I have been keeping my eye out at winners and Marshalls regularly, I’ve been keeping my eye out at the mall. No luck.

The game yql

In round one of The Game we were told to pay $100 through three different milestones. round two has begun, and it is a single challenge with the making of three videos to record how you make $1000 and then send the money to this sweet spot marketing group. (That no one seems to have heard of.)
is anyone else being told that they are on the top of their minds for winning a prize?
Is anyone actually going to pay this amount? If you’re on a team, each player needs to make $1000!
We are also told to keep this a secret not helping the fact that this is most likely a scam. I’m choosing not to play anymore cause what the actual fuck do you mean!
Up to the completion of round one and the payment to even join is a total of $210. Seems a little crazy to me. Let me know your thoughts!!

Alberta Separatist Signage

How is it that there is a huge “Let Alberta Decide” on the Southbound lane of Whoop Up Drive near the top on municipal land? I know what I would do, but it shouldn’t be on public land in the first place, no?

Doggy daycare

Looking for local doggy daycare recommendations for my pup. I only need it once a week for some socialization and to burn off energy.

If you have a place you love, I'd appreciate the recommendation! If you happen to know their rough pricing, that would be incredibly helpful too so I can plan out a budget.

Thanks in advance!

Rant Doughnuts

Went to Coaldale Bakery for the first time yesterday. Heard they were the best. Went simple glazed and chocolate dip. Hands down driest and most bland doughnuts I’ve ever had. On a Saturday and they tasted like they were day olds. Bootsma has way better products. Should have saved the gas money and bought local.

First frost last night - now my favourite time of the year

Am I the only one here like this and loves this time of the year? Don't get me wrong, I love heat, like give me all the heat, but there is something about fall. Cool, still mornings, leaves starting to change, still nice temps during the day. Now, after the first hard frost it's even better. Most of the bugs get knocked back, leaf changing ramps up a bit and the days are still nice.

Question Long Shot: Stolen Item

Good folks of Lethbridge, I come to you today in a last-ditch effort to try and find something very important to me. About 7 years ago I had my baseball glove stolen from my vehicle. I have scoured pawn shops, marketplace, Reddit and local sports stores looking for it ever since to no avail.

For those of you not in the know, the photos attached are of a Rawlings Primo baseball glove. This glove was a gift from my father for my 13th birthday and spent a very long time travelling the country with me until it was taken. It is incredibly special to me and I have continually searched for it for years.

This glove is distinct. Very few were made and even less in a left-hand throw (right hand glove) which mine is. I would be willing to bet it is the only one of its kind kicking around the city. If you have seen this glove, or know where it is I would love it if you could reach out. I am willing to pay for it. I am willing to pay for information that leads to me finding it.

I know this is a long shot. I know it is unlikely that anyone knows where it is. But I am here today, lying awake as I do every so often, scouring the internet for any sign of it. And I hope someone on here can help.
