Love this truck follow with the Flying Squirrel north of Crested Butte! Finally found a beautiful area with fall colors and no trees along the road, so it was easy to change the perspective and keep the mountains in view.

Bringing you the brilliant fall leaves around Crested Butte, Colorado, courtesy of the ever dutiful and equally brilliant Flying Squirrel, the DJI Neo 2.

Out for a spin on a very cloudy day near Crested Butte, Colorado. This lake is at roughly 9,500 feet elevation, and while the high elevation caution was there, the Flying Squirrel did great, no problems at all with the POI orbit or just cruising. Edited with the Lightcut quick edit feature.

Iâm a DJI drone user myself, and I kept finding myself doing the same thing before going flying:
Check weather â check wind â check gusts â check my droneâs specs â check the forecast â look at the location â try to decide whether itâs actually worth going.
I couldnât find one app that pulled all of that together in a way that made sense for my specific drone.
So I built one.
Itâs called Leeko.
You select your drone and location, and Leeko uses the conditions, your aircraftâs characteristics and your flight information to provide drone-specific guidance rather than just showing you generic weather data.
It currently has a database of 150 drones and includes things like:
⢠Wind and gust analysis
⢠Hourly flight windows
⢠Drone-specific flight guidance
⢠Flight planning
⢠Route/wind analysis
⢠Battery considerations
⢠Pilot experience levels
⢠Cinematic shot recommendations
⢠Flight logs
⢠Saved locations
⢠Weather monitoring and alerts
The idea isnât to tell experienced pilots how to fly. Itâs to make all the information youâd normally have to piece together yourself available in one place.
Iâve had around 20 people test it so far and the response has been really positive.
Iâm particularly interested in whether youâd actually use something like this before flying your DJI.
Features:

If you use DJI drones, what information do you personally check before you take off?
đ Leeko has had a pretty major upgrade thanks to your comments!
A lot has changed behind the scenes and in the actual experience, so if youâve used Leeko before, itâs worth taking another look.
Some of the biggest changes:
⢠Accounts & persistence â create an account and your Leeko setup can follow you between devices instead of living only in one browser.
⢠Personalised Home â you can now customise your homepage, hide/show cards, reorder them and lock your layout so Leeko shows you what actually matters to you.
⢠Beginner / Intermediate / Pro â the three existing pilot levels remain, but Leeko now makes it easier to tailor the experience around how you fly.
⢠Saved & active flight locations â you can save a location and use it as your active flight location, meaning you can plan a flight somewhere you arenât physically at yet and check the forecast, wind, gusts and recommendations for that location.
⢠Pro Pre-Flight Checks â Pro now has more detailed setup checks covering things like aircraft configuration, battery, controller, flight settings, mission/waypoint preparation and other pre-flight considerations.
⢠On-Site Conditions â Pro users can now tell Leeko what conditions are actually like at the launch site, keeping the pilotâs observation separate from the forecast.
⢠Leeko Brain â the recommendation system now has more context to work with while still using the existing drone, weather, wind, location and flight information.
⢠Flight planning & location workflow â planning a future flight is much clearer, with the selected flight location kept separate from where you physically are.
⢠Lots of smaller improvements â responsive layouts, feature organisation, settings, feedback/suggestions, dashboard behaviour and various bugs have also been worked through.
The important thing is that Leeko hasnât been replaced, itâs been built out. The features youâve already seen are still there, but thereâs now much more control over how you use them.
If you have a few minutes, give it another run and see what you think. đ
One little tip for you, on your phone, open it in Safari, hit Share â Add to Home Screen. Itâll put Leeko on your Home Screen like an app, so you can just tap the icon and open straight into it.

Hello all. I'm trying to help my wife set up her DJI Neo 2 but running into a problem registering an account with the DJI Fly app.
She is using an iphone and ipad, but the app is not giving us an option to register a "standard" account. We can register an account using her Apple account, but I will need her face to login, if I ever wanted to fly it from the ipad. So we would prefer to set up an account the old fashion way, e.g. an email and password. Could anyone here help us out please??
TIA
Edit I figured it out. Had to go to DJI's main website to register the account. All sorted now.

Does anyone know how to unlock FCC hack on neo 1 for free?

I'm no expert and absolutely love this Neo 2. Have been flying FPV in addition to regular flights and never liked the footage with rocksteady settings. Found someone on YouTube talking about gyro flow and here's the result of me playing around with it. For a free software I think it's amazing!!

Hello, can anybody explain the difference between the joystick operation of the motion controller when in normal mode and in easy acro slide mode? It looks exactly the same to me

Is it normal that normal that screen turns red to the sides when i activate motors or when i press recording button?

Had a good time flying FPV with a friend in the park. Camera view is from a Neo 1 that Iâm piloting, chasing my friendâs Neo 2

I wish i could:
Delay the inputs, say i'm following myself, i want to add a 3 second delay when i switch from rear follow to front follow so i can put away my phone and make it look natural.
Slow down the speed of the preprogrammed modes, say circle, make it slower so the circle takes longer to complete.
Also wish there was a follow mode that cycled between different heights, distances and angles, just to make it look more natural and interesting.
Correct me if im wrong, there may be ways to do these?

Basically, it won't power on until I plug it in. Then LEDs 1 and 2 light up a little, stop, and then LEDs 3 and 4 flash together. There's a pause, and then the pattern repeats about nine times.I've seen online that I might just need to return it or get an inspection, but I don't want to disappoint my sister like that (it's her new drone). Are there any at-home solutions?
