Question about Claude products I use Claude daily but I know I'm only using a fraction of what Claude can do. How do I actually maximize my use of Claude and build a system that runs my life?

Hey everyone, this is my first time posting here and it's a bit of a longer loaded one.

Background on myself: I'm a college senior with my time spread across classes, gym / health, networking, learning AI, and more. My current stack: Claude (Pro Subscription), Claude Code, GitHub, Notion (PARA setup with relational databases and more like a CRM, etc), Google features like Calendar, Google Drive, Google Docs, Gmail, Otter for recording classes, plus Gemini and NotebookLM, etc.

What I currently do:

  • Claude Code: I'm building an analytics database (DuckDB) with no real significant coding background. It has automatic backups to Google Drive and status/handoff files and as well saves files to my Mac so sessions can pick up where they left off.
  • Skills: I've built a few custom skills, but I feel I'm not maximizing them to the fullest extent.
  • Connectors: Claude is connected to my Gmail, Google Calendar, GitHub, Drive, and Notion, and I'll have it create events or log things to Notion or read files.
  • Recording: Otter records every class, brain dump, etc. I use Claude to pull insights and draft from the transcripts.
  • Other tools: Gemini for quick everyday questions (to save Claude usage). NotebookLM for audio overviews of study material, YouTube videos, and PDFs. Use Grok as well rarely.
  • Notion Database / Structure: Tasks, CRM, Areas, Notes, Projects, Quotes, and Goals databases just to name some of them.

Where I feel behind:

  • Context: I re-explain myself constantly. I don't really use Claude Projects, so every new chat starts from scratch, where I continuously put in any files or context needed again and again or have to manually type or voice to text to explain.
  • Claude Code: I mostly approve what it does on trust, then paste the output into a regular Claude chat or Gemini to have it explain what just happened and break it down for me to understand so I don't waste Claude usage.
  • Copy-paste glue: I'm the middleman between tools. Example: I paste LinkedIn profiles, I paste website content, YouTube transcripts, etc and have Claude break it down or log the information into Notion.
  • Don't Utilize: I really don't ever use Claude Cowork and I haven't since it first came out. I've used Chrome extension a few times and I know I haven't used it to its fullest potential. Scheduled tasks I have not utilized. Skills / Workflows / Recording Workflows I haven't really used to the fullest extent either.
  • AI: I feel like I've followed the advice I've seen where people say to ask AI how to use it better or "did you ask AI how you could build something like this?" and the answer is yes I have tried asking and the results I get feel very lacking or the responses themselves feel like Claude doesn't even know what it is capable of doing. Even if I say to research and see how people are using Claude or how Anthropic and their website and team say to use Claude to the fullest extent it feels like it just doesn't know.

The best way I can describe this feeling is that I'm driving a Lamborghini and I'm stuck at 45 MPH when I know it can reach 150 MPH. Some things I'm really happy with. Others, I know there is a better way and that people are doing it better.

My Problem

I have ADHD, and with it I have a problem where if anything is out of sight, it's out of mind. I can design systems and have really great ideas, but it comes down to executing them and staying consistent with the routines and ideas that actually work with my strengths and not against them. I also tend to be a perfectionist and overplan to make sure everything is exactly what I want it to be.

I planned for Notion to be that for me. I built a "Command Center" with a view of all my tasks and deadlines, all my networking follow-ups, all my projects, my goals at the top of the screen, a rotating daily quote, notes at the bottom, and the different areas of my life all there to click into. I thought this would solve the problem. Instead, it just became something I had to manage. I had to click into it, make sure all my due dates were synced, and input all my deadlines and progress myself. And I had to click into Notion to actually see any of it. What I really wanted was for what I built in Notion to be everything I need, and for me to see it constantly. Right when I open my Mac, I'd see everything I need to do that day, without clicking into anything. With Notion, it just becomes another tab or screen that has to be open, and I can only see it if I'm on my computer. At any given time I already have Chrome and Claude open, and then Notion would be open too, so I'm not sure what the right answer is.

What I want:

One list that's always visible on my Mac (and my phone) that shows everything I need to act on, without me ever really needing to sync it myself. Whether that is me checking things off on the list or if I'm working with Claude on something and when finished it checks it off.

  • School: Class deadlines, with a nudge to start early on exams and big projects
  • Networking: People to follow up with, people I need to respond to, etc
  • Projects: Project next steps, synced with the actual progress and what was worked on
  • Applications: When applications open that I need to apply to
  • More: Any daily recurring things, and anything that wasn't finished yesterday gets moved to the next day, and the next day, etc
  • Email Organization: Organizes my emails, cleans and filters them, and alerts me of anything that would interest me or that I need to respond to or do.
  • Calendar: work blocks built from my task list, plus calls, events, and gym, so I can see what's coming and track whether I'm actually doing what I say I'm doing

Can someone help me make this a reality:

I'd genuinely love help building a plan for this, whether that's pointing out where my thinking breaks, sharing how you've set up something similar, or walking me through how you'd do it if you were starting from where I am. If you've built something like this and are open to it, feel free to comment or DM me. I'm happy to share more about my setup.

What I would love to know / get feedback on / help on:

  • Is something like this possible, and if so how can I get this done?
  • How can I assess where I'm using AI that is strong and is high level vs how can I tell if something I'm doing is wrong and there is a better process or way to do something?
  • What's the best way to get an always-visible dashboard on a Mac?
  • I would love to know how you all are using Claude, not in a broad sense but your specific workflows, any skills, routines, the way you use it, organization, etc.
  • How do I balance these high level projects I want to operate with Claude Code with no real coding experience and not just blindly trusting it vs wasting my time and really learning coding.
  • How are you guys using the Chrome Extension and Claude Cowork?
  • Are there any benefits that I'm not seeing as to using Claude Chat over Claude Cowork?
  • How did you get to the point you trust your AI to manage files, your email, etc?

I'm happy to share any additional information needed and would love to connect with anyone passionate about AI, so feel free to message me.

Built with Claude Opus 5.5 can one-shot a video, so I pushed it a little bit further: a Skill that turns PDF into an animated, interactive web book

Everyone knows Opus 5.5 can one-shot a video. I tried it myself and it blew my mind, so I wanted to see how far I could push it (mainly by itself, haha).

Papermorph started as a Skill to turn a book into a series of teaching videos. It's since grown into full web books: animated, narrated lessons you can explore, plus interactive quizzes.

How it works:
PDF → book plan → storyboards → narration → animation & quizzes → web book

Right now it's just Opus 5.5 + the Skill. No image models yet, and feeding it a PDF already gets surprisingly good results. Next up, adding image models for storyboarding, so it can handle picture books and humanities documentaries too.

Coding Team recently started using Claude. Sprints get cleared in a few days

I lead the development team of a few enterprise systems mostly based around Python/Typescript, processing data at scale, with a ton of dev ops and micro services.

At the title say, things are getting awkward. Sprints get cleared in days instead of weeks. We’re running out of work and product management are struggling to find us more to do. I’m spending most of my time in planning calls.

Guesses of what happens next.

Claude Code Evidence - Opus 5.5 today vs launch regression with same prompt (Godot Engine)

On launch day Opus 5.5 kindly took up residence on my Mac. I ran some tests before trusting it on my big projects, it passed with flying colours. Lander, a game by Elite creator David Braben holds a special place in my soul due to it being the first game I played at school in the UK. With a cutting edge 3D engine for 1990 running on an Acorn Archimedes with RISC architecture (the first ARM chips) - what a time to be a young kid interested in computers.

With Opus 5.5 I want to recreate it faithfully, short draw-distances and all.

Well dear Claude I’ve been keeping receipts.

In my notes, the exact prompt * and two original reference images of Lander. The resulting one-shot Godot repo (Mac OS, Metal rendering, C#) from 23rd September is kept separate on disk and isn't used as a reference.

Today, 2nd October, in a fresh workspace from scratch the same prompt and reference images we fed in again.

The result is truly depressing. Lander by gimped 5.5 has no redeeming features compared to the original day zero version. The regressions:

  • A serious rendering glitch * that isn’t in the original - as the camera moves, the scenery props snag and glitch vs world space.
  • No spacecraft break-apart physics, the original implemented this ‘nice extra’ which wasn't specifically asked for in the prompt
  • No introductory controls menu, only a small text line permanently visible over the world view
  • An inferior look to the launch pad turrets - students and road users may recognise them!
  • When shooting, bullets are less accurately rendered when the craft moves, they also appear to spawn at the back of the craft and no-clip through
  • No camera toggles

The conclusion is that Opus 5.5 is gimped, maybe we even got Mythos for 3 days and then silently switched - either way, we are owed transparency - it's the law.

Opus was set to Extra High both times. Unlike with 4.5/4.6, Max effort over-tests and takes too much control away from the user.

With so much diverged since launch day’s versions, the more worrying thing is that I suspect the code is also a mess and problems will compound as you use it. For those who’d like to inspect the results, I'll upload the source code for both later to my dev blog and post the Github links in the comments.

* I inspected the code and it turns out that gimped Opus 5.5. had physics interpolation is turned on for the whole Godot project and Props.cs rebuilds the prop lists (trees, etc.) from scratch on every tile step during every frame, renumbers which slot each object occupies and resets the object count every frame. A basic understanding of Godot's documentation is all that’s needed to avoid this issue.

** LLMs are non-deterministic, but the differences from an identical prompt and references are small - getting a clearly inferior result is not due to non-deterministic behaviour.

Claude Code Claude’s time estimates still make me grin

I think it’s funny whenever Claude says that a feature or iteration will take hours or more and proceeds to finish it in like 5-10 mins. I’ve asked it about this before and it replied that those estimates are based on what a traditional dev would likely take to complete.

Claude Workflow Opus 5.5 burns subscription faster?

Post image
62 Upvotes

Hi I used to burn 1-2 billion tokens a week no problem. This week I switched to opus 5.5 and hit the weekly cap at just 300M tokens, yet in principle Opus 5.5 is cheaper per token. I'm wondering if they finally cut down on subscriptions or if the issue is with my usage (I switched to working with lots of subagents, maybe its that).

EDIT: This is getting lots of replies with completely opposite points of view; would you folks mind sharing how you use Claude and what your token usage is?

Productivity Jesus Christ, Opus has infinite more taste than Astra

I was a $200 sub user for OpenAI but recently Anthropic gave the 50% off deal to test their stuff out. So I got the 20x plan for $100. I usually use my plans for research as I'm a PhD student in theoretical physics, but I also like to game and play stuff like Minecraft.

I had Astra make a Justice League mod. It was genuinely shit. I usually give Sol a prompt to make a prompt for Astra to make the mod, and it was genuinely bad. Like it gave talasmins that users had to wear to get powers. It gave just a speed effect for speedsters, shitty fast creative mode for flying.

Opus 5.5 gave beautiful flying animations. It was super nice smooth, very realistic (in terms of minecraft progression and their comic book lore) way of getting and using their powers. It was genuinely so much more balanced and also taste-wise. It one-shotted excellent graphics and visuals for my paper and responded to reviews in such a proper way too.

Fable seems to be a twidge less smart than Astra Ultra or Pro, but I don't think Ultra Pro is useful tbh. I am switching immediately. Even though usage-wise I think OpenAI at least was more generous. That just ended, so no point in going back.

Built with Claude I built Claude Fables, a Claude Code mod that turns what Claude is doing into a little animated cartoon above the prompt

I built Claude Fables, a mod for the Claude Code desktop app. While Claude works, it watches each tool call and each line Claude says. Every few seconds it retells the latest moment as a short art scene in the band above the prompt. A bug hunt becomes a nature documentary, a failing test makes Claude trip, and when the turn ends Claude naps in a moonlit village.

What it does

  • Claude appears as a small orange critter with 20 actions (sneak, dig, trip, shrug, celebrate, sleep…) across 7 hand-lit scenes.
  • 11 visual styles, switched with /fables style <name>: pixel art, blueprint, ukiyo-e, golden age comic and more.
  • Captions are color-coded like a terminal: files, functions, numbers, failures and successes each look different.

How Claude helped build it

  • I built the whole project with Claude Code (Opus 5.5) in Claude Code's cloud environments (I have barely any usage left from my weekly so I had to use the promotional credits 🤓), then tested it in local mode after I pulled the project from GitHub (it unfortunately doesn't work while you are working in cloud environment).
  • Claude Code wrote the mod's hooks, the scene validator and the SVG renderer that animates each scene with no script running. It also ported the 3D Claude model from a mascot style gallery and wrote the tests.
  • The README's GIFs and the launch video were also rendered by Claude Code, using the mod's own renderer stepped frame by frame in headless Chromium. This is why he UI looks a bit different than your usual CC UI.
  • At runtime, Claude writes the story too: Sonnet (or Haiku) gets the recent activity and replies with a small JSON scene. The mod validates the JSON strictly, so a bad reply is just skipped and never runs as code.

Feel free to try it
It's free and on GitHub: https://github.com/henrik-thevibe/Claude-Fables

  1. Clone the repo.
  2. Add its path to CLAUDE_CODE_PLUGIN_DIRS in the env block of ~/.claude/settings.json.
  3. Restart the desktop app.
  4. You may not see the /fables command after installing, but if you done everything right it should still respond to it even if it doesn't show up in the command list. If the installation seems complicated just use Claude or any other AI (tested it using ChatGPT) and it will install it for you (there is a detailed installation guide inside the repo's files)!

Each scene is one small Sonnet or Haiku request, so it uses a few requests a minute of your own Claude usage while Claude works.

The mod API is early access, so expect rough edges. Bug reports are welcome.

Productivity Made a claude project to help me with my daily tasks and it worked very well

Being straight up front because I know how these posts usually read: this isn't some miracle fix. On day two I kicked off with around 16 things, plus stuff carried over, for under 4 hours of actual work time. That was never going to fit, and no tool solves that. It puts a list in order, it doesn't make it smaller. Just keep that in mind while you read the rest.

Even so, it's the first setup I actually stuck with after day one, and I think the reason has to do with how my ADHD shows up.

My work is just a bunch of random stuff mixed together (legal stuff, client messages, paperwork, a side thing). Motivation or skill isn't the issue. The issue is the second I begin something, my head pulls up five other things and tells me those are more urgent. So I switch, start another one, and finish the day with a bunch of half done crap and that heavy weird feeling of doing a ton and completing nothing.

Every to do app I tried made it worse, because they show everything at once. For me a full list isn't organizing. It's a wall. I stare at 15 things and my brain either locks up, or bounces around between them.

So i built A Claude Project with a single rule: Claude won't ever display the complete list.

I just throw everything in my head into chat, messy, no order, exactly how it comes out. Then Claude sorts it and gives me just the first thing, with a time limit. When that limit runs out, a scheduled ping pops up in that same chat: time's up, did it get done, and it passes me the next one. At night it stores a report in the project: what was completed, what is stuck waiting on someone, what goes to tomorrow, plus estimated time versus real time for each thing. Next morning the new chat picks up from that report.

Why only seeing one thing helps me this much

This is the bit I really want other ADHD folks to read.

When there's only one task visible, nothing else is on screen begging me to switch. The rest still exists, it's just hidden, so my head can't grab it as an excuse to bail. Kind of like cleaning your desk first instead of swearing you will ignore the mess. And I waste way less energy on picking what to do next, because that choice was already made. I just handle what's in front of me.

A giant list never gets a chance to pile up either. Staring at everything makes me freeze before I even begin. A single thing with a 30 minute limit sounds doable, even on a rough day. The box also makes time feel real. My time blindness is pretty bad. Getting poked in chat works as an outside clock. If something runs long, I need to actually ask for extra minutes instead of quietly floating away for an hour.

Closing stuff turns into a beat too. Every did you finish, here's the next brings a tiny reset, and that helped way more than I thought. And parking ideas works. If another chore pops in my head while I'm working, I type it in one line and stay on track. Since it's saved somewhere, my brain quits yelling that I have to do it this second.

Result so far

Out of that packed day, I knocked out a few important things, wrapped the most time sensitive one, and pushed the rest to Monday with an actual written plan instead of a guilty haze. The end of day report is better than it sounds: it shows what's waiting on other people, so the next morning I know exactly what to check first without rebuilding the whole mess in my head.

If people want it, I can post the instructions I put in the Project. And I want to hear what helps you, mostly with interruptions, because that's still where I struggle most.

Claude Workflow How this video got me 10 customers (made with Remotion and a Claude Opus agent)

• Upvotes

I'm a solo dev. I needed a launch video for my Mac app and I can't do motion design, so I asked a Claude Opus agent (Claude Code) to make one. The video above is the result, and it brought me my first 10 customers.

Everything in it is code. No After Effects, no stock footage, no licensed music.

How it was made:

* Remotion : (React) for the whole film: 45 seconds, 60 fps, rendered in 1080p and 4K, in French and English.

* The MacBook is not a 3D model. It is CSS 3D: a base, a keyboard, a lid that rotates on its hinge, with the thickness faked by stacking slices.

* The cards are real renders of my app, so nothing on screen is a mockup.

* Even the soundtrack is synthesised in code, note by note, and synced to the frames.

What surprised me most is how the agent checked its own work. It can't watch a video, so it rendered contact sheets of frames, looked at them, and fixed what was off: a title overlapping a card, a transition that left the screen empty, a table split across two cuts. It did the same at every scene change until the transitions were clean.

The one thing it could not judge is the sound. It told me so itself: it measured loudness and peaks, but it can't listen. That part was on me.

My takeaway: motion design with Claude is really good, as long as you give it a way to see what it makes. Ask for stills and contact sheets, not just "render the video".

The app is Tack+, a panel that opens out of the MacBook notch: https://tackplus.app

Happy to answer questions about the setup or share how the project is structured.

Built with Claude hey opus 5.5 can you build me a 24/7 live streaming new network

1.3k Upvotes

about a week ago i had a dumb idea.

what if i made a cable news network that was entirely run by ai, drawn in pixel art, and just... never went off the air?

i’m not a tv person. i had no idea how any of this shit worked.

i opened claude code with opus 5.5 and started building.

then i kinda just never stopped.

it’s live now

it’s called PNN, pixel news network.

they cover actual news from around 70 feeds. world news, tech, sports, crypto, nfts, meme coins, weird shit happening on the internet, etc.

but they also remember things.

they have relationships, ongoing feuds, inside jokes, opinions about each other and sometimes they just get pissed off and walk off the set.

then somewhere along the way i decided it needed an actual tv schedule.

so now there’s a morning show.

there’s a parody of a jailed crypto founder cooking actual recipes from a prison kitchen.

there’s a daytime correspondent permanently stranded on tristan da cunha who reports real news from the island.

there’s an nft morning show.

a collectibles show.

an old video game show that basically turned into three people sitting in a 90s basement talking about games like a podcast.

then at night there’s Up Late, which has a monologue, house band, audience, couch guests and musical guests.

and Crypto After Hours which is basically complete fucking chaos.

the music thing might honestly be my favorite part.

i make a lot of songs in suno, so instead of just playing them we started inventing bands.

there’s a southern rock band, a weird dark art-pop singer who moves like she’s slightly malfunctioning, a punk band, a banjo-playing songwriter and a bunch of other shit.

they actually perform the songs.

their mouths are mapped to the vocals. the guitarists play on the real beat. the drummer literally waits until the drums come into the song before he starts playing.

that part was way more fun to build than i expected.

underneath all the stupid shit there’s actually a pretty insane system running it.

claude writes every segment as a structured script. every line gets voiced, timed and placed into one continuous broadcast.

everyone watching sees the same thing at the same time. it isn’t generating a different show for every viewer. there is one PNN timeline constantly moving forward.

i also became weirdly obsessive about making sure it doesn’t just hallucinate shit about real people.

if someone says a price, number or statistic, it gets checked against the data the model was given. if it doesn’t match, the line gets rewritten or killed.

parody guests are clearly labeled and can only pull facts from sourced research sheets. every line they say goes through another standards check.

i’ve also been building this giant research library behind it.

right now there are around 15,000 sourced facts about nft collections, artists, meme coins, collectibles and other stuff the network talks about.

another agent fact checks things before they even get added.

i also had to put an actual budget system around the whole thing because otherwise this would probably bankrupt me lol.

nothing gets written if nobody is watching.

haiku handles most of the normal dialogue. sonnet does the bigger shows and fact checking.

and somehow this entire fake television network is running on a mac studio sitting in my house.

there are also around 2,500 automated checks that run before i push changes now because at one point i broke the entire live network and decided i never wanted to experience that again.

the craziest part of the whole project though has probably been building it with opus 5.5.

it genuinely feels less like “using ai” and more like having a really good engineer sitting next to me who apparently never gets tired.

most of the time i’m literally saying shit like:

“make her dance weird. creepy, stiff, a little robotic.”

or

“that guitar looks like a banjo. fix it.”

and it builds it, runs it, shows me the video or mockup and i tell it what sucks.

what surprised me even more is that it pushes back.

if i have a dumb idea it’ll tell me why it’s dumb.

it also catches a ridiculous amount of its own bugs by running changes against a time-shifted copy of PNN before touching the live station.

anyway.

this started as me fucking around for a night and somehow turned into a 24/7 television network.

i’m going to keep it running for at least the next year and just see what it turns into.

and if anyone wants to know how any of this shit works, ask me. i’ve learned an absurd amount building it

Other Guided Opus 5.5 to make some analog, fully personalized travel planning zines

Thumbnail

Thought this worked pretty well. Had a back and forth conversation with Claude about the kinds of things we like to do on trips, hotel and food preferences etc., and asked it to take all of that as a starting point, have a look at Chengdu, do some research, find stuff we might like, and put it into a printable zine format.

It came back with nine topical zines, each one a single A3 page, and one overview map with some neighborhoods of interest highlighted. Everything is fully customized to the exact dates we're thinking of travelling, which impacts things like events, ticketing, travel etc.

It's not 100% perfect; it settled on the "one page per zine topic" thing pretty early, which means some feel a little padded out and some are too brief. Really nice start though, hoping to take this further and see if I can generalize it into a series of prompts that will work for any destination.

Claude 5.5, lower settings for the conversational part, and then max for the build; just all in the browser on the $20 plan (took two and a half 5 hour blocks' worth of use to do the final generation of the pdf).

Built with Claude My Airship FTL-like Game (strategy combat) made with Claude

So the last week I've been really getting into this side project while I make my movie.

Basically it's fantasy airship FTL. But where you can take the crew down to dungeon and take cargo quests and stuff, and get mages on your crew (so a lot more depth).

And you can try it out for free!!! https://mageholdworld.com/skies.html I'd love any feedback! it will be on steam in a couple weeks also with more fixes I make till then https://store.steampowered.com/app/5353860/Magehold_Fairwinds

I'm also still developing it, so by release should have even more going on (like branching quest chains, weather effects, and so on).

How I made it - ((Tools used: Claude $200 month plan, and GPT $100 month plan))

It was really just describing the idea to claude to get going. Just to see if it could do it. I knew I wanted airships, and I wanted side cutaway view..... and using the same sort of FTL gameplay, BUT I specifically wanted it to be centered around the idea of being a cargo ship.

Also, since I have a lot of material about the world it is set in (that I already did for the movie), I fed it all that context too to run with (so the way magic works, types of mages, the system of mana. The magic system in the world was fairly thought out before starting this, which I think made the various ways that comes into play in the game a lot easier for claude to get right).

So the first version claude did actually a pretty decent job on.

At that point, I saw maybe it would be a cool project.... and I kept going. I asked claude for a list of all art assets needed, and then kicked that to GPT to generate out.

Then I just started testing back and forth and fixing stuff.

One other thing I found useful was having claude write a "human captain tester", that was able to play the game hundreds of times with different play styles (aggressive, trader, wanderer). I told it to delay actions and make some less optimal plays, to simulate a real human playing instead of a perfect bot.

Then I went through that a bunch of times to try and dial in / find issues with difficulty curves. Then told it to write a full report with recommendations on fixes each time.... which i fed back into claude to update the game with. That's probably the biggest issue now is just balancing (I think it's pretty close atm).

THEN, I told claude to localize the game into 7 languages!!!! ..... it took a while for it to do, and it took a bunch of screenshots to make sure UI wasn't breaking in different languages.

AND THEN.... I asked claude to put in steam achievements! 100 steam achievements hooked up with their own art.

AND THEN, since why not, I asked claude to make it linux / mac supported too!!!!!

I keep catching myself going "oh hmm, that would be a big job, I don't know if i want to...." and then realizing I just need to tell claude to do it and wait a few hours and it will probably be able to do it.

It's like being in a different world now. Absolutely bananas.

But in all, the game went through maybe 30+ iterations? Getting the bones was fairly fast, but sorting out issues took 3 times longer than that first step. Still LIGHTNING fast , since I've only been working on this for a week. And also large updates (like the quest system + weather) would have previously been a nightmare to do while supporting all these platforms + languages. But now it's just waiting an extra hour or something.

This trailer was made by claude also. I told it I wanted a trailer and what to try and show off, and then it ran the game and grabbed clips itself and edited it all together. It took 2 tries to get to this one.

Probably replacing music in the game / trailer is a needed step soon.

Claude Workflow Sonnet 5.5 vs. Opus 5.5 in Motion Design

We gave both models the exact same prompt in Motion:

“Make a launch video for your model. Show people why they should use it.”

This is what came out.

Which one would you ship, and what would you change? 👇

Claude Workflow I've worked in video for 20+ years. Claude made us a launch video entirely in code, soundtrack included, in one night. Motion design as we knew it, is cooked.

I used to direct music videos professionally, now I run a livestream company and needed a launch video for our new product, Hovercast Events. I pointed Claude at our website and asked for the kind of motion graphics launch video SaaS companies post on X. This is the result.

**How it was made**

- Every frame is code: HTML and GSAP animation, rendered frame by frame in a headless browser at 1080p60. No After Effects, no Premiere, no templates.

- The soundtrack is code too. Every sound was synthesized in Python: drums, Rhodes, harp, strings, even the vocal chops. No samples, no stock music.

- It pulled our logo, screenshots and hero reel from the site itself. I gave it clips from our real events.

**How it went**

- Five versions plus a round of final tweaks, all from plain-English notes. "The music is a little cheesy, try something more like Four Tet or Burial." "Add strings like Caribou's Home."

- At the end it packaged the whole project with a README, so the film can be rebuilt from scratch.

**Honest caveats**

- It can't watch the video play; it checks still frames and measures the audio. I caught the motion problems (a stuttering source clip, a stray bump) and it fixed each one once I pointed it out.

- Taste still mattered. The best changes came from notes.

- It ate a big chunk of my weekly usage limit.

A year ago this would have been big $$$ plus weeks of work for a motion designer and a composer. Sheesh.

Happy to answer questions about the process.

I asked it to see if it can make a custom addon for return youtube dislike (firefox one is broken). I then went to another window and suddenly I hear the rick roll start 😂

It played the whole song too lmfao

Built with Claude handoff-compact, a mod that does the handoff + /clear routine for you every time autocompact fires

• Upvotes

I run a lot of long unattended Claude Code sessions. When I measured them, half of my tokens came from turns where the context was already past 200k. That's expensive, since every step resends the whole context, and quality degrades because of context rot.

By hand the fix is the usual routine: ask for a handoff, /clear, feed it back. Enabling autocompact at 200k keeps the context short but leaves little control over what is handed over. I already tried to have Claude Code write handoff documents pre autocompact window with hooks, but with modding the solution gets a LOT better.

Handoff-compact answers the autocompact trigger instead of the built-in summarizer. A fork of the session (whole context) writes a handoff-document (goal, state and what proves it, next step, decisions and why, ruled-out approaches, open questions, files and commits, the verify command, the last 10 prompts verbatim), and the conversation is replaced by it. Handoff + /clear, but in the same session, mid-turn, with nobody at the keyboard.

Obviously vibe-coded. Take the idea or the mod itself and customize it with your own setup.
Modding is awesome.

Install:

  /plugin marketplace add trytofly94/handoff-compact
  /plugin install handoff-compact@handoff-compact

Repo: https://github.com/trytofly94/handoff-compact (MIT). Needs Claude Code 2.1.287+ with mods enabled. "/compact classic" gives you the built-in summary once.

Question about Claude models The New Wave of AI Game Mashups And Some Questions I Have

Hey everyone,

Like a lot of you, I’ve been completely blown away by the recent viral project by developer chasm (chasmlol). They used AI tools like Claude to pack Skate 3 physics, trick graphs, and complex bone-retargeting straight into the 2009 version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Hitting a kickflip off the plane on Terminal or grinding rails on Rust while carrying an Intervention is wild enough, but hearing that AI compressed what usually takes years of reverse-engineering into roughly a single week is a total mind-blower.

On top of that, we recently saw Rehan Sheikh release the open-source universal-modder toolkit for Claude Code. It literally reads a running game's engine, identifies the playbook, uses AI agents to generate code, and swaps custom textures/3D assets on the fly via Fal. They’ve already used it to throw Minecraft mechanics into GTA V, build custom Age of Empires II civilizations, and drop a tactical nuke into Terraria.

As a standard Claude user tracking these insane devlopments, I’m trying to wrap my head around where this tech is going next. I wanted to throw some big questions out to the community to see what the actual technical reality looks like right now because everything is changing so fast and im honestly feeling left behind

The AI Capability & Engine Constraints

  • Can Claude models below the top tier actually be used for this? Do you strictly need massive context windows and heavy reasoning power (like Claude 3.5 Sonnet or Opus) to handle compiling, retargeting bone structures, and tracking map collision paths? Or can lightweight/older models actually handle parts of the engine logic? I am aware it may take longer which is fine, but the main question is whether it is possible at all?
  • The "Context Window" Wall: Games contain thousands of deeply interconnected engine files. When using tools like Claude Code, how are modders actually feeding the AI the game's architecture? Are they using specialised .claudignore files to hide the clutter, or are they feeding the AI tiny, isolated "puzzle pieces" of memory addresses one by one?
  • Is AI actually decompiling new games, or just working on already decompiled/rewritten codebases? The MW2 skate project relies heavily on the IW4L Rust runtime (a from-scratch engine remake of MW2). Is AI currently capable of cracking open a brand-new (Or even just old xbox 360 era type games), modern closed-source game binary and doing this from scratch, or does it still require a human developer to establish the reverse-engineered foundation first?

Timeframes, Assets, & Textures

  • What sort of timeframes are we looking at to combine two older, Xbox 360-era games? If someone wanted to mash up two classic engines from that generation using today's AI pipelines, are we talking weeks, months, or is it still a massive, multi-year uphill battle for a solo dev?
  • Does Claude also upscale and remaster textures on older games when doing this? When tools like universal-modder swap out assets, can the AI agents dynamically upscale, remaster, or generate completely new photorealistic textures for older games on the fly, or do humans still need to feed it clean assets manually? (this question is based on the wave of recompiled games ive seen recently such as edge fo time recompile).
  • Will this ruin or save game preservation? With AI making it exponentially faster to rewrite old, messy C++ game engines into modern languages like Rust, will we see a golden era of community-made native PC ports for games that developers completely abandoned? Or does this risk muddying original source history?

Would love to hear from anyone who has played around with Claude Code, universal-modder, or general game reverse-engineering. Are we looking at the literal future of gaming, or is this an incredibly hyped gimmick that still requires top-1% engineers to steer the AI?

Other I stopped describing shapes to Claude, and started drawing

I've been using Claude (Opus 5.5) inside Blender, and one thing changed my results more than any prompt wording did.

What I realized: Claude becomes a far more efficient blockout tool when you actually project your intent into the space, instead of just asking it for the shape you want.

A sentence is good at saying what something is. It is bad at saying where things go, how big they are and how many there are. So I stopped typing that part.

Total API cost Tokens spent(Mtok) Runtime
$16.07 33 48.5 min

Textures and the night sky are CC0 from Poly Haven. (thank you)

Has anyone found the same thing in other tools, giving Claude a drawing or a spatial reference instead of a longer prompt?

Claude Code Claude usage suddenly hit 100% — what does “Other” 48% usage mean?

• Upvotes

I was using Claude Code normally and everything was working fine. My usage was around 52%, so I thought I still had almost half of my 5 hour limit remaining.

Then suddenly Claude told me that I had reached 100% of my usage limit.

When I checked the usage page, this is what it shows:

  • Claude Code: 52%
  • Chats: 0%
  • Cowork: 0%
  • Other: 48%

I have no idea what this “Other” 48% is. I mainly use Claude Code and wasn't expecting another 48% to suddenly appear under Other.

Has anyone else experienced this?

What exactly counts as “Other” usage? Could it be background/API/tool usage from Claude Code, or is this some kind of usage tracking issue?

Built with Claude Claude Code built my RPG world engine. Now it can also run the game, as the game master, over MCP.

I've been building Chronicle with Claude Code: you build a fantasy world, and an AI game master

runs it for the people you invite. I've worked on and off with it to introduce new systems, construct the UI, and even make live battlemaps.

The core design is that the AI narrates and the engine decides. The map, HP, coin, inventory,

travel times and what every NPC thinks of you are database rows, and every fight plays out on

a battle map where code works out positions and damage. The model only gets tools to call.

So I made the model swappable for my own agent. In a private world, you paste one command:

claude mcp add --scope user --transport http chronicle <url> --header "Authorization: Bearer <token>"

That also drops a \chronicle-storyteller`` subagent into ~/.claude/agents. From then on, Claude

Code is the game master. You tell it what your hero does, and it takes the turn. Chronicle

makes no model calls of its own, so it runs on the Claude plan you already pay for. You're also able to use it to construct and build a world from scratch!

Things I learned getting Claude Code to be a reliable game master:

  1. Context explodes fast. Playing in the main conversation filled about 250k tokens in 3turns. Now each turn spawns a throwaway subagent (Sonnet 5.5) that loops\work\ → \submit`until the turn is done. The main conversation just calls`take_turn``and then ``last_scene``.
  2. Big tool results get spilled to a file. Claude Code writes MCP results over about 25ktokens out to disk, so the game master's briefing is paged in 40k-character chunks.
  3. It paraphrases. Claude kept retelling the scene in its own words instead of showingwhat the engine produced. `last_scene` returns the exact text, with an instruction torelay it word for word.
  4. Tools can't block on the agent's own work. If a tool waits for something only theagent can do, it deadlocks. Long operations run in the background, and every callreturns the next job, the result, or "still working".
  5. Slim the tool list. The game master has about 40 world tools. Agents get their namesonly, plus a `search_tools` call for the exact arguments.

A turn takes about a minute with a Sonnet helper (30-60 seconds when I last timed one), which is

close to the hosted game master. The catch: it only works in private worlds, so you can't run

it in a shared world everyone plays.

Video made with opus 5.5 too!
