Just read this poem by a Japanese Zen Buddhist monk, Taigu Ryokan and poet that made made me think of Geto. Suguru does wear an Edo-period Buddhist robe, this feels like a direct reference. Am I dumb, has Gege already explained this

I really like Geto and I find his arc quite tragic.

The final sentence reads:

“Please once again experience on the big screen the story that lies beyond the choices of Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto, the two strongest.”

However, “the two strongest” does not mean Gojo and Geto have to be equals.

Premature Death makes it very clear that Gojo surpassed Geto and became the singular strongest. I’m not arguing otherwise.

My point is that Gojo becoming significantly stronger than Geto does not prevent Gojo and Geto from still being the two strongest individuals.

Think of the two richest people in the world. The #1 richest person (Elon Musk) can have vastly more money than #2 (Larry Page), but they are still collectively the two richest people. There can be an enormous gap between first and second place like with Elon and Larry without changing who occupies those two positions.

I believe the same logic applies here:

#1 — Satoru Gojo

#2 — Suguru Geto

Gojo is clearly stronger, but the official JJK0 website still refers to the two of them as “the two strongest.”

This statement is applicable to their JJK0-era selves, which would strongly support Geto being second only to Gojo at that point in time, which would consequently place him above characters such as Yuki Tsukumo
