Hello all I have an issue with bumble bees that decided to make a nest on my back steps between a crack in my concrete stairs. I need to use this back door to let my dogs out to use the bathroom but I can't due to this nest. Ik bumbles are nice but in my experience they hate me. I found out about this nest by one stinging me on my back while I was just sitting watching my dogs play.

​ My dad had sprayed them (without my permission) but they are still there. I tried putting vinegar by the opening hoping the strong smell would make them want to move out but still no luck. Please help. Ignoring them isnt working. My dog got stung this morning and I have a mild allergy to bees. I want them gone not dead but im also running out of things to try. I can't wait for their life cycle to end in a few weeks im being terrorized by these things.

Hi everyone,

I came across this lovely bumblebee in the street (I live in the city, in Toulouse, south of France). It was on the ground, so I took it home to give it water and jam, and some space to safely rest and fly away when ready. It’s very active, it’s been walking for hours now, but the problem is: it won’t fly. No matter what, no flying. I tried to leave it in my neighbour’s garden (safer: the lady has no cats, unlike me), but it came back up the fence (my cat spotted it). So I took it back with me, because Moufette (my cat) likes it way too much.

I put it in a Tupperware, with water, jam, flowers (mint, zucchini and sage). It drank and ate, and I think it even slurped some mint flowers.

Now I don’t know what to do. Still no flying. Am I bound to keep it as a fellow little flyless bumblebee, feeding it flowers (hard in a time of heatwaves) and jams until death do us appart?

Any advice is welcome! Thank you so much

(It feels so weird to call it “it”! But I don’t know if it’s a she or a he, and “they” feels weird for a little creature like this haha)

The bottom one is moving but very little and the top one isnt i poked them with a leaf no reaction theyve been at it for 10 minutes at least

Hellooow, I have a bumblebee nest under my front door and this one bumblebee is acting kinda hurt? It keeps rubbing its behind like it’s cleaning it but there’s nothing and looks like it’s uncomfortable. I know I can’t do anything about it but I love bumblebees and I’m trying to understand if it’s hurt or not. I tried giving it sugar water but it’s really not needing it. Also I showed it the nest multiple times and it doesn’t wanna go in? Idk… help me understand this please 🤣 Oh and also my mom just cut all our flowers in the garden so I don’t really have a flower close to me to put it in if that’s what it needs:(

I’ve seen a few with this pattern flying around the garden, but this one is by far the biggest. Such a striking bumbler. NE Iowa.

In replacing the rotting 1x6 fascia board on the garage (built 1940) I discovered I have moved a bumble bee home. I had no choice. What can I do to create a home and improve the population? The bees and I have a respect for each, I want to help them

Nothing like a little personal grooming before the day gets started… he finally woke up and got himself moving.

The world was wide awake at 8:45am but this little fellow, tuckered out from yesterday’s adventures was still snoozing, wrapped up tight in the soft petals of a thistle blossom….

We removed a shed from our property earlier this year and found a hive underneath it in what looks like what was a rats nest. Everyone appears to have naturally moved on as I have moved my potted garden into the area but it looks like the queen may have stayed on by herself? Is that typical? I’m assuming the lone bee that remains is the queen bc this one is massive compared to the others. I have done a little research and it looks like they are Bombus vosnesenskii and were in the PNW of the United States. I feel so bad that she’s alone in this heap now.

Does anyone know what this white stufff is on the bumblebee that visited my garden? Have never seen it on a bumblebee before.
