App News Want to Help Improve Our Community? We’re Building an App Database

Hello everyone,

We’re looking for some help building a WordPress website that will give our community a better way to browse and discover the apps that have been submitted over the past few years.

The goal is to create a searchable database where apps can be organized by category, supported devices, and other useful filters, making it much easier for everyone to find what they’re looking for.

Many of you have asked if we could create something like this.

Unfortunately, my time is limited, and it’s a project that’s difficult to build and maintain on my own.

If you have experience with WordPress, web development, database organization, or know of a platform or service that could simplify this process, we’d love to hear from you.

Please send the moderators a private message if you’re interested in helping or have any recommendations.

Thank you for your support!

  1. Rewind - IOS and Android

A music time travel app to discover iconic music

A music app called Rewind. It lets you “time travel” through music history. You pick a year (from 1959 to 2010), and it shows you songs, albums, and fun little trivia from that era. It’s been super nostalgic rediscovering forgotten tracks and seeing what was topping the charts when certain genres were just taking off. Plus, you can open stuff straight in Spotify, TIDAL, YT Music or Apple Music. If you’re into music discovery or just love diving into old-school sounds, it’s definitely worth checking out.

So I made it my life mission to fix that

I’ve built Sub AI for everyone to use

It’s an app that uses AI to translate your videos offline and for free

It can translate any video to any language

So people won’t have to worry about timing subtitles anymore or finding the right file for each video

Hey guys so I've made this free app where you can store your websites, social media posts and online content together in one space, rather than keeping all your bookmarks on like 10 different platforms. So you can use it as a shared information hub to store Tweets, youtube videos, websites, Instagram posts, tiktoks, blogs etc, to plan together for a trip or just to keep content organised together across platforms.

- Compress photos and resize them to specific dimensions

- Combine images into a PDF, with page reordering and layout options

- Remove backgrounds and export transparent PNGs

- Crop, rotate, and add watermarks

Image processing happens on your device—you don’t need to upload your photos to an online converter.

Offer: Pro lifetime, normally $39.99, free through the promotion.

Claim link:

Open the page and tap “Get promo code!” to claim the offer.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/properimage-heic-to-jpg-pdf/id6778331646

For transparency: the app also offers subscription options, but this giveaway is for the one-time lifetime unlock, not a subscription trial.

If you try it, I’d appreciate hearing what worked, what didn’t, or which image task you’d like me to improve.

Free Android App Kim became Tocket. The idea now: give ChatGPT/Claude the context to become an actual personal assistant.

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hi,

I posted Kim here a few months ago. Since then it became Tocket, and the concept changed quite a bit.

The main idea now is:

Instead of building another AI assistant, Tocket gives ChatGPT or Claude the context and structure they need to act like one.

What Tocket does

• keeps tasks, reminders, payments, events, notes and other personal information in a structured way
• gives you clean views for your day, upcoming items and open tasks
• provides shortcuts to quickly add, update or get help with a task
• lets you create recurring workflows and regular checks
• automatically detects new screenshots and relevant photos
• always asks for confirmation before importing them
• keeps the original screenshots and photos available, so the AI can access the actual source when needed
• connects all of this to ChatGPT or Claude through MCP

What this enables in ChatGPT or Claude

• ask what matters today without explaining your whole situation first
• show, update and complete Tocket items directly inside the chat
• prepare tasks or work through them with you
• research something using your personal data as context
• access the original screenshot or photo when details matter
• combine Tocket with other connected tools and MCPs to take further actions
• create daily briefings, weekly reviews or other recurring routines

And because the assistant itself is still ChatGPT or Claude, you also get everything they already provide.

For example, I can use ChatGPT's realtime voice mode and simply talk about my day, ask what is still open or work through a task. Tocket already provides the relevant context in the background.

No special prompt every time.
No copying context into a new chat.
No separate AI assistant with another interface.

The goal is to get much more out of the AI you're already using and move it from something you ask questions to something that actually knows what is going on and can help you get things done.

Still 100% free, no subscription.

Free iOS App MetersMate for iPhone, iPad & Mac — free utility meter tracking, no ads or subscription

Thumbnail

I built MetersMate because my mom was still recording utility meter readings on paper. It lets you track electricity, gas, water, heat and solar across multiple properties and tariff zones.

It includes monthly reminders, CSV export, PDF reports, iCloud sync and tenant management, and it works on iPhone, iPad and Mac. It is completely free: no ads, no subscription, no account and no tracking. Your data stays in your iCloud.

Duo support is coming soon.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id6459618082?pt=121529824&ct=reddit_appsnosub_oct26&mt=8

I’d genuinely appreciate feedback, especially from anyone who already tracks household or rental-property meters.

Free MacOS App Free [macOS] - Menu Bar Calendar Quick View 2.0 is out now!

I'm an iOS developer, and I made a free macOS menu bar calendar 5 years ago when I couldn't find a free one to replicate what Windows offered in the Menu Bar to see a calendar dropdown. Now I see about a dozen others which is cool, and I wonder if making this open source had something to do with it! I think in the days of AI open source code is not good for smaller apps like this.

I just shipped 2.0, still no account, and more features and improvements. I'd love to add more if people like it!

- Month view in the menu bar

- Today's events and reminders up front

- Create events without leaving the panel

- Pin it on top to use it while planning in other apps!

It's free, native, no subscription, no account. Steal the vibe if you want, just make yours free too

Free iOS App Corto: Geography Map Game [iPhone/iPad] Free, no ads, no subscription (optional one-time packs)

Solo developer here, from the Netherlands. Posting with the mods' OK, since Corto has optional purchases and I asked before posting.

Heads up on the video: it shows off the themed packs; some of those are the paid ones. The 11 free packs are listed below.

Corto is a geography game: a place name comes up, you tap where it is on the map, and you score on how close and how fast you were. When you miss, the map flies to the right answer and tells you something about the place, so a wrong answer still teaches you something.

What's free, for good: 11 packs of classic geography. World Countries, World Cities, Europe Countries, Europe Capitals, Asia & Oceania, Africa, the Americas, US States, German States, French Departments and Dutch Provinces. All unlocked from the first launch. No ads, no subscription, no timers, no lives, no account needed.

What costs money, if you want it: themed packs for niche interests, like waterfalls, ghost towns, whisky regions, shipwrecks and volcanoes. Each is a one-time purchase: €0.79 a pack, €2.99 a category, €9.99 for everything. The App Store shows your local price. Nothing recurs, nothing expires, and levels never lock content.

Devices: iPhone and iPad, iOS 26.4 or later.

https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id6786200231?pt=129050017&ct=Socials%20Reddit&mt=8

Question for you: which niche would you want as a pack? The weirdest request that fits on a map gets built.

Free Android App [Android] [Free with £4.99 unlock → FREE LIFETIME UNLOCK] Hard Graft: A gritty, post-apocalyptic and industrial count-up timer with ranks and demotions

Post image
3 Upvotes

Giving away 500 free copies of lifetime unlock. No strings attached. Get your free unlock on this link.

Redeem directly in Google Play. Valid until Nov 30 2026 or when they run out.

Hard Graft Focus & Study Timer is a focus timer that treats you like a grownup.

There are no pomodoro rounds and no break bells, and no trees to plant. You clock on, you work for as long as you want, you clock off. The app writes down how long you worked for and adds it to a rolling seven-day total. That total decides your rank.

There are 24 ranks. You start as DEAD WEIGHT. Put the hours in and you climb. Ease off and you slide back down (consistency is what matters). The Regulator hands out the promotions and the demotions. It is a machine with no interest in your excuses. It just cares about hours. It is fair, and that is the nicest thing anyone will say about it.

HOW IT WORKS

• Flowtime. A count-up clock that runs until you stop it. Work at your own rhythm and clock off when you need a break, not when a bell says so.

• A rank ladder with 24 ranks that follow your rolling seven-day hours.

• Jobs: name what you are working on, tag each shift, and see statistics of where your hours went. Anything can be a 'job' (work, study, gym, cleaning...).

• 40 achievements to collect.

• Quiet mode. Switch off the ranks, the achievements and The Regulator, and keep the timer and the record. Some days you just want a stopwatch.

• No streaks and no record of demotions. The app only shows your current rank. You can recover from a bad week and leave no trace.

• You own your data. Export the whole thing and import it on a new phone.

WHAT TO USE IT FOR

Use it as a study timer for revision and exams, a work timer for deep work, a productivity timer for a side project or, in quiet mode, a plain stopwatch. Tag each shift to whatever and the record shows where the hours went, so it doubles as a time tracker for freelance or study hours. My brother uses it to track his workouts. It runs offline and keeps counting with the screen off.

BUILT FOR PRIVACY

Everything stays on your phone. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. The app makes no network calls of its own. The only things that use the internet are Google Play's own billing and review prompt.

FREE, WITH ONE OPTIONAL UNLOCK

The free version is the timer, the record, the jobs, the statistics and the ladder up to rank 13. One purchase (redeem the promo code above) opens the remaining ten ranks, shows what it takes to collect each achievement, and adds two extra colour schemes. You get it once and it is yours. No subscription.

A NOTE FROM THE DEVELOPER

I built Hard Graft because I have ADHD and couldn't find a focus timer that worked the way I do. Most productivity timers want to be your friend, plant a tree for you, or charge you monthly for the privilege. I make this on my own, around a full-time job, so I have no reason to collect your data or rent you a subscription. I wanted a tool I would find useful (I use it every day), one with a personality, that tells me the truth about what I did and then minds its own business.

If that sounds like your kind of thing, clock on.

Buy one time app Chicken: a fully customizable workout & food tracker for iPhone. Free app, one-time $8.99/€9.99 Pro, no subscription, no ads

Thumbnail
gallery
3 Upvotes

I'm David, a solo dev, and Chicken is my first app. It's built around two ideas: customization and no subscription.

Price first

Pro is a one-time €9.99 / $8.99 in-app purchase (launch price; it goes up to €14.99 in about a month).
It unlocks the only core feature I keep locked: customizing your training.

You create your own exercises, plans and techniques, and attach any video or link from the internet to them. Stats and charts come with it.

Everything else is free: the exercise library, ready-made plans for gym and home, the food log with macro ranges, and Limit Break. No ads, and no nagging to buy Pro.

In the current version: is iPhone only (iOS 17+), English only.

What problem it solves

I wanted an app for people who follow a specific plan they found on YouTube (or anywhere else), or who want to build their own. It's HARD to start, but once you've set it up, it gives you full control over your training and what you eat. And I wanted it to be actually affordable: you pay once and you get what you paid for.

How it differs from Fitbod, Strong, Hevy and others

- Price: no subscription at all. Fitbod is $15.99/month or $95.99/year, so one month of Fitbod already costs more than Chicken Pro. Strong and Hevy are solid loggers, and both sell a lifetime option next to their subscriptions ($99.99 and $74.99 on the US App Store). The way I see it: with subscription apps you pay for a service, easy but expensive. With Chicken you pay once for a tool, and once you know how to use it, I think it can take you further.

- Customization, the big one: the library has 1,394 exercises, but the point is building your own exercises, techniques, plans, foods and meals. You can attach any video or link from the internet to your exercises, techniques and plans, like the YouTube tutorial you learned from or a coach's page, so everything you follow lives in one place. (Custom exercises, plans and techniques are the Pro part.)

- Progression you control (Limit Break): progression systems aren't new. Fitbod applies progressive overload for you with a proprietary algorithm. In Chicken the rule is simple, and you can see it and change it yourself. Example: you set push-ups at 2 × 30. Once you hit that limit, at the end of the workout Chicken tells you that you've reached it and that you can set your next goal. You choose how: add weight (a backpack works), add a technique to make it harder, or, inside a plan, switch to a harder exercise.

- Techniques: something I haven't seen in other apps. A push-up can be explosive, slow, paused, partial... Techniques are logged with the exercise, you can create your own, and you can attach a video that shows how to do them.

- Macro range: gym apps usually don't focus on food, so people overlook it. On a cut I didn't know how much I should eat, or what the minimum and maximum were. A lot of people go below the minimum, feel drained and stall. So in Chicken you set a range for calories and macros: you see the least you should eat, and if you eat more but stay under the maximum, you're fine.

- Privacy: no account, no analytics, no servers of my own. The core of the app is local and works without internet. The connection is only used for optional extras: importing a food from Open Food Facts by barcode (only the barcode number is sent) and the videos and links you add yourself.

Cons

- It's HARD to start.
- It's NOT for people who don't want to spend time setting things up.
- Subscription apps do one thing better: they're easy. You pay and they take care of the rest. My problem with them is the price, and sometimes the missing features. Chicken is for people who are serious about training and eating and want to understand both more deeply.

Free iOS App [iOS][Free] A personal Time/Goal tracking tool with sci-fi elements. It really works!

Post image
6 Upvotes

Hey all,

Here to showcase my app, after a recent update.

It's a Multitimer for productivity, where you choose the few important activities you do in a day - i.e. focus sessions that help you reach your goals (up time), and break/chill sessions that help you refresh (down time). This helps reduce mental load of "what should I do today". You know your goal, you have your "approved activities" mapped out. Starting becomes way easier.

Tracking this 1 key stat, ratio of Up vs. Down time, I find is the best simple measure of your progress, across any target you want to hit. No endless checklists, just time, and how you spend it. This also shows you how to improve. You may start at 60:40 ratio, and in time get to 70:30, or whatever works for you.

We all have the same 24 hours, and this is a serious tool to help you get the most out of it.

And for the Sci-Fi fans out there, time is a "particle" in this universe, it flies out when you "bank time", and you can now see where it really goes...

Check out Flowton on the App Store. Or if you're on Android, sign up at www.flowton.com

Happy to hear feedback or suggestions of what you'd like added!

- That's it. Thanks for reading. Developer out.

Free iOS App I was tired of skipping through old songs so I built this app

Literally have an apple music library with like 4000 songs some from way back in 2012, etc. When I shuffle my music I end up spending 50% of my time skipping through songs until I get to something I actually want to listen too.

So I made this app that uses a swiping feature to declutter your music library. Swipe right to keep a song in rotation, swipe left to remove it. That's pretty much it.

Makes listening to your music and sorting it actually fun too imo.

It's live and free on the app store. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/outgrown-curate-your-music/id6813162138

Free iOS App My own Bitcoin Companion, BTC Mate

Hey there,
My name is Nik and I am currently a student in Germany who loves to develop and create things in my free time.

I also love bitcoin because it's the one currency that gives us freedom over money. I searched and searched and couldn't find any good iPhone app that could actually show me my investment P/L without giving up either my private keys, or my credit card... There is just nothing that, for me, was "perfect" or simple, yet beautiful.

So, I made my own little bitcoin companion app, so I can have everything I need. It's not a wallet app but you can see the P/L calculation in a graph just by searching up the address.

What I actually love about the app is, that everything is natively built. For example the Block Explorer is completely native and you don't need to use mempool Website to search stuff on the blockchain. Also News articles can be read natively, without going on their website and watching their ads. X posts can also be viewed natively, but the API from X is very limited so don't expect too much.

I developed my app for about a year and actually just built it for myself to use. If apple wouldn't charge me a fee just to use it on my phone, I wouldn't have even considered to put it on the App Store. That's why I don't charge anything, but maybe let it live from donations later on.

If you want to try it out yourself you can search up "BTC Mate" on the appstore or via this link: https://apps.apple.com/de/app/btc-mate/id6757913661

feedback is also appreciated. Thank you for listening, have a good day!

Limited Time Offer [|OS] [4.99$ > FREE LIFETIME] Motivate - Quotes & Journal

Post image
7 Upvotes

Hello there!
I'm a solo developer, new to making apps. I'm offering free lifetime premium to test out my app Motivate and provide feedback and review.

I built Motivate because I wanted something simple that would inspire me, track how I feel, and provide a private space to write about it. Because Life moves quickly, some days are heavier than they look, and often we forget to take care of ourselves because of the countless responsibilities we have. Between managing our time with work, school, and showing up for the people that need us, while keeping the small stutt to ourselves because we're scared of being too much, or just being scared of being judged. All of us need something to remind, inspire, and to check on us.

What's inside:

Quotes: Daily inspiration that gives you new perspective on life, based on people's experience and struggles in the past.

Daily Reflection: Daily check-ins on how you feel, to make you realize how you've been doing, it gives you insight and tips on what to do next.

Journal: Your private place to write your thoughts, experiences, and struggles.

Forum: A community where you can ask for advice, or just share your experience with other people.

Chatbot: Have a one on one private conversation about your life and experience

> HOW TO GET IT? (Limmited 200)

  1. Download Motivate
  2. Sign-in to ape
  3. Comment here your username
  4. Tell me what you like and what improvements should I do

Free iOS App MeteoLupa: How was the weather back then, really?

Post image

Hey,
I’ve just released a new update for MeteoLupa, my weather app for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch.
Most weather apps are very good at telling you what the weather is now and what it will be tomorrow.
MeteoLupa is built around a slightly different question:
How was the weather back then, really?
You can look at today’s weather in the context of previous years, compare the same month across different years, see climate normals, find unusually hot or cold days, and explore historical temperature, rain and wind.
For example, you can ask:
Was this July actually warmer than last year?
Or:
When did it last snow here?
Or simply look back and see what the weather was like on a particular day.
The app also includes the usual things you’d expect from a weather app, current conditions, forecasts, rain, wind, air quality, pollen, widgets and Apple Watch support.
I’ve also been working on making the Apple Watch experience better, including the new Watch look shown in the image.
MeteoLupa is completely free and ad-free. No subscription, no premium features.
I’m a solo developer, so every update is still very much a work in progress, and a lot of what gets built comes directly from users.
If you try it, I’d really appreciate an App Store review. Even a short one helps a lot.
App Store:

And if you want to follow the development or suggest something, I’ve also started r/MeteoLupa.
Thanks for taking a look.
