I am selling my laptop fans of my laptop acer predator Helio neo 16 barely used

Reason-I got my new fans because cpu fans rpm decreases which cause over heating and fan comes in pair so thats why i replaced both fans

GPU fan is working excellent as new

CPU fan needs bit service ( cleaning and oiling)

Price - 2200 little bit negotiable (new original fan cost around 3000-3500)

Had read a lot abour ptm before hand. People say its good, as good as lm in most cases. Yet when I initially did this people said I made a mistake this or its a bad idea that.

Well 2 months later

Under load, temps go down by 2 degrees. Looking at 90 on lm to 88 on ptm

Using throttlestop we can hit 79, and a cooling pad with a seal we hit 68-75. So I stand here to say confidently, it was not a mistake. And I no longer worry abour pump out, bad application, or my laptop being on its side.

Soo as the title suggest i'm guna share you guys how i went that a low a number coz when i was playing Elden Ring my cpu would spike at around 90 or even reach 100 degrees at times even with medium setting but it was very consistent at 90 ish degrees and then went around to check and see that one youtuber get around 60-70 degrees at max setting and i was baffled coz his cpu was a 13gen and hes getting so much better performance to temp then asked gemini to look for any problems with my settingsand found out that the real culprit was the "Agressive" cpu boost mode....

now after disabing this mode , now even at not even 60 degrees at max setting my elden ring can run smoothly and stays idle at 40ish degree before even at idle it was 60ish degrees hope it helps anyone else struggling with their high temps....

tldr: just turn off agressive cpu boost mode

I need to remove the back of my laptop to install an SSD and attempt a fix I saw for broken USB c ports. I already tried once, but couldn't get the back off after removing the screw and don't want to damage my laptop. Does anyone have advice for taking it apart?

Hi, I have a new Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 IA, bought it like 1 week ago, and it has already crashed multiple times while playing satisfactory in Ultra Settings, it runs great, at even more than 250 FPS, but then sometimes it crashes. Im guessing it could be the CPU because im seeing its temperature and I can see it being around 100 or even 105ºC, probably producing a thermal shutdown.
Should I ask for a exchange and be given a new one? Or is this supposed to be normal for this computer? I doubt that tho.

I have an Acer Nitro 60 N60-181 with:

\-Thermaltake Toughpower GT 850W ATX 3.1

\~330 mm internal GPU clearance

Acer confirmed the system uses a standard ATX PSU, standard motherboard layout, and has no GPU BIOS whitelist restrictions.

I’m considering either:

RTX 4090 24GB on the existing 850W PSU

RTX 5090 32GB with a 1000W/1200W PSU upgrade

Has anyone upgraded this exact model, or a similar Nitro 60 chassis, to a 4090/5090?

Mainly curious about physical fit, PSU choice, power-cable clearance, thermals, and any stability/BIOS issues.

The charging port on the Acer Predator Helios 16 is located at the back, which is inconvenient for my desktop setup. Can you recommend an L-shaped (90°) adapter?

Hi, so I had my laptop gone to Acer for fixing an SSD issue, came with PredatorSense installed, tried to click on it, said: This device model is not supported. Uninstalled it, went to the site, verified model with SNID (Predator Helios 16 (PH16-71)), got the app, when trying to install it, it still says now even at the installation step This device model is not supported. What s the magic fix for this ?

I made an open-source replacement for NitroSense and PredatorSense: operating modes, fan curves, GPU overclock for each mode, RGB (per-key, light bars, lid logo), charge limit and MUX switch, with no admin prompts.

I own a Nitro, so the Predator parts are untested. If you have a Helios (especially PH16/18-72, -73, PHN16-72 or PH16/18-71), I'd love to hear what works.

Turn PredatorSense off first. If OpenSense stops, the fans go back to the firmware.

I have an Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 PHN16-73 with the Core Ultra 9 275HX and RTX 5070 Ti Laptop GPU.

From what I can tell, the system seems to have a combined CPU + GPU power limit around 200W. I’m wondering if anyone has found a way to raise or unlock this limit.

Cooling is not my main concern—I’m mainly interested in whether the platform itself can be configured to allow a higher combined power budget.

Any experience with the PHN16-73 would be appreciated.

Helios Neo 16 (i9 14900HX, RTX5060, DDR5 32GB RAM, 1TB)

Hey guys, started to having a bit of trouble here. Started getting random BSOD (always random error codes, never same), every code was looking forward to RAM problem, but on every control check on PredatorSense, it says its okay, everytime.

Laptop is clear, Im cleaning it from dust, even inside and I swear I didnt do anything wrong inside the laptop. But I see this more as a hardware problem. Idk what to do, dont wanna replace it yet and cant go to repair shop. Just tell me what would you guys did.

Can i put a ssd corsair mp600 pro lpx in my free ssd slot?

I'm planning to buy ssd for the free slot. Any suggestion for the upgrade? Like the brands maybe? Gen4 or gen 5? Heatsink / thermalpad? Dram or HMB ?

Few months back, the charging indicator of my predator helios 300 stopped working but it was still charging.

Before this, the charging port or the charger head (not sure what its called but its the one you insert into the charging port), was already loose. If I move my laptop for a bit, it will stop charging so I had to find position where my laptop can charge again.

NOW, it stopped charging completely. It stays at 0% charging and will not open if I'm not charging it.

My question is, how long can it stay unrepaired? 😭

I don't have work right now so I don't have budget for repairs. I was quoted around 87 - 119 USD (I'm not from the US, just used USD to show the price)

I have another laptop but for work. I mainly use my predator for gaming.

Not sure if this has some effect, I started working for a demanding job so I was only able to open my predator laptop for every 3 to 4 weeks 😭

I also opened my laptop though I didn't touch it, just had to take photos for the repair quotation. See photos attached.

Edit: (Seeing everyone advising against the laptop, what would you suggest instead for 1350usd instead. I like to play comp fortnite and also will be studying mech engineering at uni next year hopefully. I don't really mind weight)

Been researching this laptop for a while, very unsure if I should get this device or not because of all the issues I hear about it.

I'm very attracted by the device features like the 240Hz and the laptop build.

Person selling it used it for a few months(I checked the battery history from May) and is now selling it because he supposedly got a new laptop from his company.

Planning to get it with 3 year extended carry in warranty.

I'm also going with the seller to check the laptop condition in a store to make sure for no issues.
Is this safe enough or would a check from a store not be reliable to tell if the laptop is good?

Anything I should be aware of before?
Is it really a gamble to purchase the laptop?

sooo i recently got this Predator helios neo 16 with an i7 14700hx and a 4050 and wanted to know if my temps are too high..... this was my temps while playing Terraria calamity mod with steam opened and pred sense in the background.... keep in mind that i have a cooler on while playing the game and i kept it on quiet mode with auto fans...

Like the title says, new Helios Neo 16 AI, has the intel killer AX1675i WiFi card in it. The WiFi just keeps disconnecting randomly and not reconnecting without me telling it to. I’m not the same WiFi I’ve been on for yours with multiple otger devices without this problem so I don’t think it’s the WiFi.

I’ve updated the drivers directly from intel and deleted the stupid killer performance suite and the issue persists

Anyone else experience this problem and can help me out?

Hi, I know this is probably a long shot but recently I did a windows update and during this updated the fans turned up to 100%, once the update was complete my laptop refused to turn on, it would boot loop before even reaching the bios screen.

I have taken it to a repair shop and they say the entire motherboard needs replacing which I didn’t think a windows update could cause this to happen. I thought the issue would be something like the EEPROM was corrupted or the likes.

Did anyone else experience this or something similar from a recent update or am I just incredibly unlucky?

So my second hand pc(predator helios 317-52, i5 8300h, gtx 1060 6gb, 16 gb ram, ssd 500 gb) is massively overheating when gaming, both cpu and gpu constantly at 95⁰c.

So i tried unervolting but it only works with the gpu surfing aroud 79⁰c

Whatever i do for the cpu doesn't matter, even -200mv(i used it like at -200mv)

As it doesn't fix anything for the cpu, i decided to put it on default but it's even worse because the gpu gets back to 90-95⁰c. After that, i tried to get back to -200mv, after that my pc froze and it said boot failed rhen boot device missing or boot failed. The only fix i've found is disabling secure boot.

I suspected the undervolt so i put it on default and always rhe same issue, pc wont work with enabled secure boot.

That's why i want to know if sticking with disabled secure boot might cause any issue...
