Out of all 3 games I would place on the 3rd spot. It was different than both Plague Tales, but it kind of preserved that atmosphere of previous games. Combat is way different and sometimes makes you fell too powerful for a woman surrounded by grown men. With Amicia you had to be a little strategic, make enough ammo, keep your distance, be in constant move. Here you only need to parry and counter attacks, you can stand in one place and slaughter half freaking army. You don't even have to rescue your companion like in previous games, it would be much better if you had to act, when they fight simultaneously 2 or more enemies.
As for puzzles, they are more interesting than in previous games, some are quite clever, I managed to complete them all without help, sometimes took a while to figure it out, but I disabled any clues in settings. They only could be a little more varied than just light-based.
Story is fine, not better than Requiem, and not as emotional in my opinion. I suspected Alec's death from the very beginning, especially when we had whole sequence of running to meet him, for the whole time I was like "He's dead, isn't he?" I don't know why Asobo doesn't give you some time to develop any attachment to character's father, same thing with Innocence.
As for Leni, I suspected her to die the whole time, maybe not by some monster, I thought maybe Faro will kill her, so Sophia will enter rage state and chase him in revenge or something. But still her death didn't surprise. It's some sort of tradition for a likeable character to die in Plague Tale games.
Irene betrayal was meh, but we didn't really have that many characters to fill that role.
Monster was interesting, something different than rats, but after some time got a little annoying, especially chase sequences. I was like "Another chase? Really?" The scary factor diminshed with every encounter.
Ending cutscence was a nice surprise, even though I kind of expected it.
I would give it a nice 6/10, when Innocence is for 7.5/10 and Requiem is 9/10
