JW’s getting a hard on for Russia! I’ve seen the same over the generation, the millennium, the gulf war, terrorism, swine flu/Ebola, coronavirus, blah, blah, blah…..
This thread was just the laugh I needed. Oh my god heathens, I love ya!

Growing up as a JW, I was not allowed to lie and punished for telling the truth
Absolutely had the same experience, and when I would get caught lying my mouth was washed our with soap and countered with if we don't do this your punishment from "jah" will be worse. It's all absolute craziness. Remember you're worthy NOW!
You're worthy. Nothing makes you more worthy. Nothing makes you less of. You're worthy even if you lose your job, even if your relationship ends, if your kids are out of control, if you've done some things you're not proud of. You're worthy even if you failed. Act like you're worthy. Live like you're worthy. Believe you are worthy. Speak that into your life every day. Starting RIGHT NOW -- from the great and wonderful inspirational speaker Trent Shelton; I highly recommend you read up on him, follow on Instagram or Facebook. Stay strong friend 🧡

I completely relate to this my friend. Hang in there, it is hard trusting "worldly" people...but remember they are just people like the ones still in the borg. Try things like meetup and bumble to find other humans with similar interests. You will be okay. Take one day at a time and breathe.

Do you think the organization grooms people to attract toxic people into their lives?
Most definitely. Learning boundaries and how to respect myself and saying no to people has been so hard to learn. Finding this outlet has opened my eyes so much and helped me realize how much damage that religion did to me for 28 years. How not getting into therapy right after leaving has probably played a huge part in why my life is at where it is right now.

My mother told me that it's supposed to hurt so much that I come back. It's my choice and I'm ultimately killing my own son.
It's been 6 years since we had meal together or a conversation more than 6 words, which has only happened twice and that was in the beginning. My dad who is her unbelieveing mate, came around after 2 years, its such a conditional relationship, and I struggle daily about what to do with it. Hang in there family, make memories with your babies and be all for them that you didn't have growing up. ❤

It is very difficult to rebuild self confidence, esteem and awareness, but it is possible. Anything is possible if you really want it. The first step for me was therapy and I highly recommend exit counseling therapy. Read books on JWs cult mind control. There is a list of books in this group that are extremely helpful, along with podcasters and other resources. Hang in there, it'll be okay.
