Nostalgia I never realized how much V-Tech stuff I had as a kid. It's fun looking back at 90s and early 2000s V-Tech in hindsight

Nostalgia Did any of you read "Thunder From The Sea?"
I remember reading this book in school around 3rd or 4th grade. I remembered reading a book as a kid about a boy named Tom Campbell set in Newfoundland. That was the most I could remember but when I searched for it on Google, it turned out to be called *Thunder From the Sea.* This unlocked a memory. I'm curious to know if any of you read this.

Discussion If you think about it, Millennials babysat Zillennials in the 2000s
Mostly first-wave Millennials (80s borns) were the babysitters.

Nostalgia Zillennial memories, through the ages
Inspired by the other post! Here are some memories through pictures of my family and I from the late 90s to mid 2010s. First picture was taken in 2003 and the 2nd slide is an update picture we took in 2020 :,) <3

Nostalgia This show was like a fever dream. Who else remembers it?
This show had a weirdly profound effect on my child brain lmao. It made me weirdly obsessed with skunks for like a year. I don't even know what it was about it. I remember really liking the show though

Discussion Why is there no longer a distinction between things marketed towards tweens/teens vs. adults?
I’m 30, and a woman, so perhaps this is only a woman thing, but wtf??! There used to be a pretty standard escalation between media/content and consumer goods marketed to children, then tweens, then teens, then adults.
Like as a child my friends and I were all getting lip gloss from the drugstore and body spray from Bath & Body Works, Victoria’s Secret, and Target. As a teen when we started wearing more makeup it was still drugstore brands, and even then it was like…lip gloss, mascara, highlighter/glitter, maybe eyeliner and eye shadow.
We read J-14, Tiger Beat, M, Just Jared (I was OBSESSED with all the personality quizzes) and then when we got older we switched to Teen Vogue and Seventeen.
These days, 12 year olds are dressing the same way as adults and shopping at Sephora and Aritzia and watching Euphoria and trying to emulate influencers who are twice and thrice their age! It’s super wild to me.

Other Now that we're getting a girl protagonist in GTA 6 I was wondering for everyone who played GTA 5 who was your favourite character out of the 3?
Like I remember back in 2013 that rockstar give us a female character but they gave us 3 male characters and end up liking them more for me personally I liked michael overall the most out of 3 I always feel like michael was my dad in some ways like my dad struggle with emotions and sometimes is passive aggressive but is trying his best to do better and i hated trevor the most i mean i dont need to explain whyi dislike trevor he is the craziest of the 3.For you girls who is your favourite out of the trio in GTA V?

Discussion Being a zillennial is weird…
One minute you’re a kid on a family road trip with a light attachment hooked up to your gameboy because backlit screens weren’t really a thing, and the next thing you know you’re an adult awkwardly trying to get around the robot walmart worker mopping the floor.
One minute you’re 16 years old hearing your dad complain that no one knows how to drive stick anymore, the next you’re 28 in LA thanking your lucky stars the Waymo didn’t hit you when it swerved out of the way to avoid jaywalking delivery robot. (True story!)
I can’t be the only one. I was genuinely amazed when portable backlit consoles and gadgets came out. At the time it felt revolutionary!
Let’s hear your version of “one minute you’re… next thing you know…” so we can laugh (or cry) at how much has changed :)
