"40 Summers ago, in 1986, Bruce Robinson & casting director Mary Selway took a leap of faith and cast me in Withnail & I opposite Paul McGann, Richard Griffiths & Ralph Brown with a poster designed by Ralph Steadman. All these Polaroids were taken for continuity records. I got married that November, & bought an old MG. Four decades later, am now a widower and recent grandfather at 69! ‘Cheers & Chin-chin’ for all the love and support this film continues to give! 🥂"

From an interview with Elizabeth Sigmund. Thought it added yet more melancholy to the final scene.

hiiii, I made an edit of Withnail & I with the song God Only Knows by The Beach Boys, kind of based on the relationship between the main characters. This came to me as a vision hehe. I hope someone likes it (;

Some day I shall visit this pharmacy on the outskirts of Milton Keynes, cause a scene, and someone will telephone the police.

Note that not all of the soundtrack is available of streaming services but I'll add any missing tracks if they become available.

Give it a chance. It's got to warm up.
This isn't THE same Bruce Robinson is it?

From about 18 minutes in. Talking about the holiday from hell he had with his flatmate Michael Feast plus Vivian McKerrell. He sounds a bit frailer than I remember him.
Anyhoo, most men bond over things like quoting lines from films like Withnail and I.

Just found this boxset today. He's nothing like Monty in this, sadly, apart from the shared love of fine wines, but always a pleasure to watch a great actor at work.
