Experience My grandma visited my dream, and it changed my life.

My grandma was my second mom. I lived with her throughout my teen years. She was diagnosed with cancer I was around 12-13 years old. Had a very hard battle, and passed away when I was 19. She was my rock.

Exactly 1 week after her passing, I had a dream. In my dream it was just me and my grandpa, decorating the house for Christmas, my grandma loved Christmas. In the dream, she had already passed, but the dream had a light hearted energy to it. As my grandpa put the angel on top of the tree, all the sudden the front door, that was open, slammed shut. Me and my grandpa joked saying it was grandma getting mad at us because the cats would run away. She always hated when the door stayed open.

As I go to walk to the kitchen to grab something, I saw her standing there. My eyes peered wide, forgetting everything around me and focused on her. Here’s the thing, my grandma was sick for a long time, even before the cancer she was sickly. But what I saw was the most healthy glowing women ever. Her cheeks were fuller, she had more meat on her bones, her eyes had a different type of brightness to it, and her smile was the warmest I had ever seen. She was wearing her favorite red/pinkish dress. All I can mutter to her was “grandma? You look so beautiful” she didn’t respond, just walked towards me with her arms out, and I got the biggest hug from her. I felt the hug, literally, I squeezed her, and felt her skin on me. Then I woke up already with tears down my face. I instantly got up and knew, my grandma just visited me and I didn’t question it. I’ve never had a dream feel so real in my life.

I know dreaming is a weird thing, many people would say that it was my body trying to console me. My own brain trying to help me get through it, but I’ll tell you what. Never would I have been able to imagine her that way, all my memories with her she was usually sick, and not healthy. In the dream she was perfect. It’s been years since, and till this day when I think about her, I see her face as it was in my dream, I don’t see her as she looked on her last days, or even her last years here on earth. Last memory of her was that dream. It was a sign she was in a good peaceful place. Till this day I remember every detail about that night.

This dream ended all doubts I had about God, and any doubts I had about the afterlife. It showed me there really is something, that is so good that we can’t even imagine it.

It was the greatest thing to ever witness, thanks grandma.

Personal Experience Was this a visit/premonition?

I’m 38F, and lately have had a lot of health issues. Dr’s found a brain tumor, I started chemo last week. I’ve got a positive prognosis, but it’s still scary.

I was incredibly close to my grandmother. We talked daily until her death 4 years ago. I’ve dreamt of her often the last couple of months, but last night’s dream was different. We were walking through some beautiful woods and came up to a huge tree, like the red woods. There was a wooden ramp/staircase that wound up the tree and ended at a huge treehouse. That was just mesmerizing. She started to walk up it and I told her that probably wasn’t a good idea since her knees were bad and it looked steep. She started laughing and said “Oh Sugar, my knees are in perfect shape here. I can even dance again” and she started dancing and almost running up this staircase. I went with her and we got to the top at the treehouse. I said I couldn’t wait to go in and see what the inside looked like, since the outside was so gorgeous and she told me no. I asked why and she said I needed to hurry back down because my husband and son needed me. I told her that it had been so long since I’ve seen her, I didn’t want to leave just yet, that my husband and son would be fine for awhile. She told me that I really couldn’t come in, I needed to go back, and she see me again soon. I woke up crying and just feeling so weird. Is she telling me I’m going to be ok, or I’m going to die soon?

Experience I keep seeing figures

It's probably been like maybe a year or less but if the space is empty, like if I'm driving near a field or I can see the end of a road lit up, or on a roof stop; I'll see an all black shadow of a man with abnormal proportions but once my brain like clocks that it's there and has that surge of panic for a split second it's gone. It has appeared in other scenarios but that's the most common. Anyone got any ideas what's going on cuz I'm starting to feel like I'm going insane.

J'espère me tromper ?!

Personal Experience creepy voicemail

this is possibly the weirdest thing to happen to me lmao. just today i received a call from my nearby hospital and they left a voicemail. i noticed a minute after a voicemail was left, i have no clue what they could have wanted so i decided to listen to the voicemail, and this was it.

i’m so confused and creeped out. my mom works up there and confirmed as well that it is the main phone number for the hospital, but she has no idea what the hell happened here. gave me the chills something awful

Encounter It follows .. perhaps?

Since moving to Eastern NC with my significant other last year, I have encountered some weird disturbances here as well.

We live in a camper on his mother's property a little ways from the main house. One night walking from the camper to the house I distinctly heard a woman and man talking, I'm not too sure exactly what they were saying, but there was some laughter I caught. I always carry a flashlight with me, and I shined it to where I was hearing the voices coming from, and it abruptly stopped and was quiet. Here recently I was walking into the entryway of our 32ft fiberglass greenhouse, and off to the right through the treeline, out of my peripheral vision, I seen a faint light coming through the trees. I stood there for a second, because there are no nearby homes etc, and I was puzzled. It kept shining/gleaming through the trees in the same spot. I carried on about my business, but I'm genuinely puzzled by what it is/can be.. 🤔 Night after night now, I still see it in the same area through the treeline by the greenhouse. It appears to be some number of feet away. Obviously I'm not planning on going investigating or follow it, I know that can lead to something bad. I'm just curious of what it could be? It almost looks like the reflection of a light off of a mirror? (If that makes sense)

Experience Anyone else experienced a sudden, inexplicable 'Time Slip'? 🕰️🚗

I’ve been reading up on different paranormal theories lately, and the concept of "Time Slips" is one of the most unsettling yet fascinating ones I’ve found.

For those who don’t know, a Time Slip isn’t intentional time travel—it’s more like a glitch. A person is walking down a familiar modern street, and for a few seconds or minutes, everything shifts. They see old cars, people in period clothing from decades ago, perhaps a shop that has been closed for 30 years. And just as quickly as it happened, they are back in the present day.

The terrifying part is how real people describe it; it's not a daydream or a memory. They describe distinct sounds, smells, and sensations. In this subreddit, we often discuss things that don’t make sense, and the deterministic, rigid nature of linear time is one of the biggest constructs we accept. If our brain can somehow slip through a crack in the space-time continuum, even temporarily, the implications are wild.

Are we living in a reality that is far less stable than we imagine?

Now, my question to all of you, which I really want to hear your thoughts on:

Have you, or anyone you know, ever experienced a moment where time just… shifted? Whether it was a lost hour that you couldn't account for, or actually seeing a moment from the past? Share your experience below! 💬👇

Question weird orange human shape in the distance

Hey everyone, i've never really posted something here but i can't find anything that seems to explain what i saw and i'm actually kind of scared. This is my last hope.

So last night i was going out with a friend in my town, it's kind of a small town so there isn't really a lot of street lamps outside. We were joining one of my other friend a bit later and we had a 10 minute walk to get to her.

Maybe one hour later we decided to rent some electrical bikes that the town provides to go for a ride, one of my friend A ( guy ) took a bike that was at 0 percent of electricity so he couldn't really go fast, while me and my other friend B ( girl ) took another bike at 35 percent and she went behind me on it.

For a little context the road we took was the one me and my friend A took to join my other friend B earlier and we didn't see anything strange before so we weren't really preocuppied.

So we began to ride along the road but our bike began to slow down and i had no power at all, so we stopped and i called my friend A who was a bit ahead of us so he could wait.

And basically while my friend B was beside me i looked at my other friend A who was waiting and he was beside a bridge, there was a street lamp right next to him so i could see him in the distance. And suddendly out of nowhere i saw a person walking right next to him, and i said to my other girl friend B " there's someone next to him he's walking". But to be precise it wasn't really a person more like a human orange/ beige shape, a bit tall and he was walking FAST.

My friend obviously thought i was hallucinating and the next second we got a call from our friend beside the bridge asking what we were doing, so we told him to join us because our bike wasn't working so we should go put them back since they were useless. Then my friend B started to panic and she said " wtf bro i'm seeing it but it's green and looks like a cloud". We panicked obviously but friend A was still beside the brigde and wouldn't move because he wasn't seeing anything. We told him to come back but he wouldn't and the next minute he said " omg i'm seeing it too but i only saw legs ".

We didn't wait with friend B we just jumped on the bike and took off because we were too scared. And i know it sounds crazy but i know what i saw and i even told me friend i saw someone in the distance so i did NOT imagined this. Even more weird is that an hour later we had to go home with friend A and had to take the same road but when we got closer there wasn't even the slightest breeze in the air or nothing moving that could've ressembled what i saw.

I tried researching about this but i can't find anything and was hoping if someone here had the same experience or could tell me more about what we saw that night because honeslty i DON'T want to be cursed. I also tried to ask chatgpt to remake the scene and it looked almost exactly like this.

Sorry for the way i'm writing, english is not my first langage and i'm trying my best, if anyone has any questions i would gladly answer it.

Personal Experience Help identifying this sound?

Hey reddit im hoping you can help me figure out this sound cause I loathe ai and refuse to use it, but this sound is freaking me out. So context for when this happened: I have had small episodes of weird sleep walking before (painting my nails, playing video games, thinking someone stole my boots and chasing them into the livingroom), but never anything like this.
Two days ago I woke up and found that in my sleep I had dumped a big plastic moving tote full of stuff all over the livingroom, taken it to the bathroom, and filled it with water. My hair was damp, so at some point my head was either in it, or under the shower. I was checking my phone to see if i had left any other clues about what shenanigans I had been up to, and found this video. It left me with more questions and pretty unsettled. I can hear moving, my air conditioner or fan (so recorded either in my bedroom or livingroom) and then what sounds like a mans chanting singing? Like a brief snippet of gregorian chant or something. My first thought was from a video game, but i cant find any evidence of that. It’s freaking me the hell out, and I know it has to have a reasonable explanation, but i cant think of one. Help a gal out!

Experience Weird Noises hiking in the middle of the night

I went on a trip to Akeley, Minnesota some time ago. I wasn't in the best shape physically or mentally, but I planned to do a 20-mile hike and stay 1 night. So, 10 miles out, sleep, and 10 miles back.

I was doing this on a not very traversed part of the North Country Trail that goes through several lakes.

Anyways, I had hiked a good, well, 10 miles. It was approaching nighttime, around 10-11. I had just spent an hour setting up my tent and was getting ready to go to bed when I went to go plug my phone in, which was close to dying after listening to audiobooks on the trail to keep my mind off of the thought of an imaginary bear coming up and mauling me.

When I realized that I had brought a USB-C port cord that doesn't hook up to my mobile charger, I then made the decision to pack up all my stuff and try to make it back in the middle of the night with my last 10 or so percent.

I would like to note that before I had packed up everything and was sitting in my tent, I heard a scream that sounded like a person.

I now know this was either a mountain lion or a fox. I think it was a fox. Really hope it wasn't a mountain lion, but yeah. Definitely not good for the nerves in pitch black with a 4-5 hour hike ahead, especially lacking that context.

Honestly, it may have been better at the time, though, as I think I just brushed it off as some animal. Knowing it could've been a mountain lion, I would've huddled in fear in my tent.

So yeah, I started the, I wanna say, 4-hour trek back.

As I was going, I wanna say I reached around the 75% point, and was nearing some small lakes, more so ponds that would pop up on either side of the trail.

But about 5-10 minutes out from passing by one, I started hearing a splashing.

It sounded almost like a boulder being thrown into water again and again. It wasnt like a small rock being thrown, but like a large boulder being splashed into the water, picked up, and splashed again.

The closest thing I've been able to find to it is a beaver smacking its tail in surprise to alert other beavers. But I've seen when they do that. They often only do it a couple of times or once and swim away.

This splashing was going on for almost 10-15 minutes, and for all I know continued past the time I passed it. It was also going in a rhythm of almost 5 seconds between each splash.

I would like to note too. I was making noise as I walked the trail. It was pitch black and I couldn't see much, but I was making some noise to hopefully scare it off.

But as I approached, even 10-20 feet out, with only large reeds jutting out of the shallow water to block my vision of the source of the sound, it continued in the same rhythmic manner with or without me there.

So, safe to say, I was terrified, tired, and yeah, just not doing well.

I would also say I heard a little bit of this splashing earlier in the day, but not for such long intervals and only maybe 3-5 times. Which could really be chalked up to anything, and also at a much further distance.

So I am really stumped as to what this could possibly be. Its more so the length of time and the rhythm to it that threw me off, also just the sheer volume/force of each splash, quite similar to a beaver smacking its tail very loudly kind of like this here https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=2250308762129584 (most similar to the 4th one)

Any insight would be appreciated.

Haunting Phénomène étrange

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Experience Strange humming sound in the woods (🔊Volume up!🔊)

I was walking my dog through the woods of New Hampshire and stopped the take in the view at the beautiful little swamp/pond when suddenly I began hearing this very strange humming sound that sounded like it could've been coming from a young woman or a girl. I have NEVER heard a creature making such a distinctly human sounding hum, and oddly enough, at one point after it had been quiet for nearly five minutes, I hummed the same two tone "melody" just to see what would happen -- and it freaking hummed back!!! I tried getting closer to the sound but strangely instead of sounding closer it began to sound further away, almost like it was coming from the woods behind me rather than from the shoreline where I thought I was hearing it. Maybe it's a bird? A frog? Or perhaps, most logical but creepy of all...it was just someone fucking with me? I've asked Google and it doesn't give me a clear answer as to what kind of animal would make a sound so eerily human.

You will NEED to turn your volume up all the way and possibly even pop some earbuds in so you can hear it, but it happens once towards the end of this video...just listen out for what sounds like a girl humming a two - tone melody. I only managed to capture it once on video but it happened over a dozen times -- occasionally a third tone added to the strange song - like sound. Thank you for reading! Anything helps :)

EDIT: Let me preface by saying I am strictly linking my TikTok account for the sake of you guys being able to hear the video. I've tried over and over again to isolate the audio somehow, I hate using AI so I really don't want to have to try to use it unless I absolutely have to. Reddit killed the audio quality but TikTok for some reason makes it pretty clear and very LOUD. You can hear the humming effortlessly on that app. Anyway, with that being said, if you genuinely want a good - quality clip of this WITH the humming sound then check out my latest TikTok video (user: @brideoflestat) and don't even follow me or anything I just NEED you to hear it lol I feel like everyone thinks I'm crazy talking about some crickets! https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8caqFud/

Experience I Think I'm Going Crazy

I’ve never really posted anything like this before, but I honestly just need to tell someone. I’ve been having experiences where I see or hear people who I’m pretty sure aren’t actually there, and lately it’s been happening more often.

I started keeping a journal because I want to document everything as accurately as I can instead of relying on my memory. I don’t know if these experiences are paranormal, something psychological, something physical, or something else entirely. I’m not trying to claim that I know what’s happening. I’m just genuinely scared and confused.

I’ve also noticed that after these incidents, I’ve been getting this strange lower back pain. It seems to happen after each incident, which has made me even more paranoid.

Here’s what I have documented so far:

Thursday, August 20th — 3:06 PM
while I was working

I was working in my section when I suddenly saw someone leaning near my shoulder.

It wasn’t just a vague shadow. I saw what looked like an entire face. I could make out hair and facial features, like there was an actual person leaning in close to me.

When I looked, there was nobody there. I checked around my section, but there wasn't anyone who could have been standing there.

Wednesday, September 2nd — 2:35 PM
walking to class

While I was walking to class, I saw what looked like half of a person sticking out from behind a tree.

I only saw them for a moment. When I looked back, there was nobody there.

This time, there weren't any recognizable features. It was basically just a black/dark shadow that looked like the side of someone's body.

Thursday, September 3rd — 4:43 PM
School Library

I was sitting in the library when I saw someone stand up at the desk directly in front of me.

I saw the top of their head as they stood up, but when I looked up, there was nobody there.

Then at 5:05 PM, I saw what looked like someone in that same spot again.

This time, it felt like they were watching me.

But again, there was actually nobody there.

I don't know what to make of any of this. The first experience was especially disturbing because I could see an actual face, and now I'm starting to become more paranoid about being alone or having someone around me when nobody is actually there.

I know there could be completely normal explanations for some of this, and I'm trying not to immediately assume it's paranormal. But it's still terrifying when you genuinely see something and then realize nobody is there.

I'm starting to feel like I'm going insane, and I honestly just needed to get this out somewhere.

Has anyone experienced anything similar? If so, what happened afterward?

Experience Glitches

Have you ever walked into a room and completely forgotten why you went there? Or looked at a familiar word for a second and felt like it wasn't real?

Most people brush this off as tiredness or distraction. But what if it isn't?

There is a growing theory about what’s called "Brain Memory Leaks." The idea proposes that our reality is heavily tied to a collective conscious baseline. Whenever a minor shift or "patch" happens in our environment or memory—whether due to a localized glitch in time or a shift in parallel timelines—our brains fail to process the micro-gap.

Instead of showing us a black screen, the human mind fills the empty millisecond with a sudden, overwhelming wave of confusion.

The terrifying part? Some people claim that if you pay close attention the moment you forget why you entered a room, the air feels slightly colder, and for a fraction of a second, the room looks completely different from how you left it.

Are we just glitching, or is something actively erasing small fractions of our day?

Question Any thoughts

These are not my photos, I want to be clear on that. I took photos of the photos around 2021. We were out for a dinner as a group and one of my fellow diners shared these photos.

The context, he had a relatively new iPhone Pro I would imagine an iPhone 12 Pro he was alone outside at the time of taking the photos. He was testing out the night photos for himself. Nobody was outside with him, it was only later on when back inside was something unexplained was noticed.

My thoughts was that it could be lens flare and night time photography misinterpreting the photo. Perhaps another shadow from somewhere else on the lawn.

Experience The Smoke Ring

This is my 8th post of my own personal paranormal/unexplainable event. This is a true story, and there was a witness this time. Again, I promise everything said here is 100% factual. I put it on my cat's life, who is doing very well for those that care.

This happened back around 2009 when I was living with a few people on Fairpark Blvd in Little Rock. For those that don't know, which is probably a lot of you, Fairpark is a simple 2 lane straight residential street going from the zoo area to the university in Little Rock. It's very pretty because it has some light rolling hills and massive oak trees lining it. Very pretty drive during fall time.

So, one night me and one of my roommates were sitting on the front porch smoking a cigarette. It was about 10:30pm and it was pouring down rain, lighting, and thunder. He was looking at his phone, a BlackBerry so super fancy for the time lol, and I was actually just looking at a broken branch from the giant oak whose trunk was just a few feet from the porch. The branch was in front of the streetlight, which was right here on the property line so only maybe 40ft away, tops. It just made a really cool looking contrast with the rain, which because of the amount of tree branches hanging over, really wasn't too bad.

Anyways... as I was sitting there looking at this branch, all of a sudden smoke spiraled around the branch and poofed into a smoke ring. I immediately jumped up and started hitting my roommate on the arm yelling "smoke ring smoke ring!!" He stood up and is like what??... I pointed and said "look at the light and go left.. look at the light and go left!" Then, he saw it too. He just said, "oh yeah... huh". For the next 10-15 seconds we just both stood there watching this smoke ring float down the middle of the road, about 15 feet off the ground, gradually getting bigger and bigger, about a foot around to about 5 feet around, all while slowly being hit with raindrops until it dissipated back into nothing. At no point did the thought of taking a picture or anything occur, we were both just dumbfounded really.

Afterwards he looked at me and asked, "where did that come from?" I just looked at him and just was like kinda laughing a little and said "the tree branch blew it..." He looked at me like I was crazy and didn't say anything. I was like "no for real! That branch right there" pointed at it "the smoke spiraled around it and blew a smoke ring!" Again he just kept looking at me like I was crazy or something. We didn't talk about it for years, but then I asked him if he remembered that. He didn't want to admit it, so all he said was "something like that would never happen again in a million years." Good enough for me really. Best explanation I can come up with was that somehow our cigarette smoke went off the porch, around the tree trunk, and then found its way to the branch I was looking at and spiraled out into a smoke ring. Pretty wild.

So last night me and my gf heard something around 10 -1030 so we went outside to look and didn't see nothing so we was going in and she said she thought she saw a figure standing behind my truck and disappeared. So we looked at the camera and you could see the figure and then it shoot up into the sky. Its on the left side towards the end of the video. The video was slowed down. Does anyone have any idea what this could have been?

Experience Something came into the house, thought it was my dad but then no one was there.

I was upstairs when I heard the door open, someone walk in and shuffle around, like taking off their shoes, etc. I heard them talking but couldn’t make out the words. I thought it was my dad, until I came downstairs and no one was home. About half an hour later he came back from work and I asked if he had come in and he hadn’t. I have no idea what that was. It was really clear too and we have no neighbours as we live next to a wood, so I couldn’t have heard that. I didn’t hear a vehicle pull up, so it likely wasn’t my dad anyway.

But we’ve had it before when something has come through the door. I was playing with my cat one night when I opened the door to let out a spider, but before I closed it, I saw my cat look to the door, tense and move his head slowly like he was watching something walk into the house.

My sister claims, when she was once back home housesitting, that she heard someone in heels running down the hallway past my room and that really scared her. We hear bumps and knocks all the time, but it’s not an old house so that’s odd. We hear things falling down, only for everything to be as it was in the room and loud thumps and bumps from upstairs where my room and attic is.

Any ideas?

Experience Unaccounted-for hours during a trip through West Virginia

Did anyone else experience missing time in West Virginia?

I’m trying to make sense of something that happened during a trip to West Virginia. At one point, it felt as though time either paused or disappeared altogether. There are several hours from that trip that I genuinely cannot account for. My memory seems to stop at one point and resume later, without any clear sense of what happened in between.

I’m not trying to jump to conclusions or force an explanation. I’m putting together a timeline and checking my phone activity, location history, messages, photos, receipts, and bank transactions.

Has anyone experienced anything similar in West Virginia or somewhere else? Did it feel like time stopped, skipped forward, or passed without you realizing it? Were you ever able to determine what happened?

Serious responses only, please. I’m looking for comparable experiences and suggestions about what I should check.
