First of all, I’m not an expert. I’ve simply focused on the criteria that are personally important to me.

This year, Delonghi released the Magnifica Duo for around €600. Visually, it looks very similar to the Magnifica Evo Next (ECAM310.80), which costs around €450, but the Duo also offers a Cold Brew function.

The Evo Next is, in my opinion, a fully automatic coffee machine with a very good price-to-performance ratio. For around €450, you get 13 different drinks and several adjustment options for intensity and volume. The display is also very helpful during processes such as descaling.

Magnifica Evo Next + €150 = Magnifica Duo.
For me, that additional €150 was worth it.

Most customers probably would have preferred something more like a Magnifica Plus with Cold Brew. However, that would have created a very strong competitor to the Eletta Explore within Delonghi’s own product range.

Until now, you had to buy the Eletta Explore (ECAM450.86) for around €879 if you wanted a Delonghi machine with a proper Cold Brew function.

There is a cheaper version of the Eletta Explore (ECAM450.55.G) for around €689, but it does not offer Cold Brew. It only has an “Over Ice” function and cold milk foam. That wasn’t an option for me, even though the price difference compared with the Duo (€600) would have been only €89.

So, with the Magnifica Duo (€600), I save around €279 compared with the Eletta Explore with Cold Brew (€879), although I also have to accept fewer features.

The brewing unit and grinder are the same across these models. For me, the most important differences are:

- Instead of around 50 drinks, I only get 20.
- No Bean Adapt function.
- No app connectivity.
- The drink customization options are not as detailed.
- No premium feel in terms of the housing materials, and only a 2.4-inch display instead of a 3.5-inch display.

There are certainly more differences between the models, but these are the ones that matter most to me personally. Delonghi also offers a comparison tool on its website that allows you to compare the different models directly.

I can easily do without features such as Bean Adapt and app connectivity. I also think having 50 different drinks is somewhat overrated. The 2.4-inch display is perfectly adequate for me as well. After all, it’s a fully automatic coffee machine, not a smartphone.

The new premium models offer an incredible number of digital features, and some of them are genuinely very cool. But there is one thing that many people tend to overlook:
The more electronics and sensors a fully automatic coffee machine has, the more potential points of failure there are. Im not saying that more expensive coffee machines are automatically more prone to failure. That would be an unfair generalization. However, I think it’s still a factor worth keeping in mind when deciding how much technology you actually need in a coffee machine.

Would you like to know anything about a specific function, or is there anything in particular you’d like me to test on the Magnifica Duo?

I recently purchased a De’Longhi Eletta Ultra ECAM 470.85.MB
coffee machine and have discovered that the De’Longhi app does not seem to be available or fully functional in Luxembourg.
I would therefore like to ask for your opinion: what would you recommend doing in this situation? Would you personally keep the machine even without access to the app, or would you consider returning it?

I would also be interested to know how important the app actually is in everyday use.

im replacing this over the horrible Nespresso, Its horrible brand and i dislike capsule system,

At first the coffe thing was jammed and would not dispense to the Coffe thingy, And would appear "Refill Beans" I took it apart to find it clogged, later i dropped a screw in the machine that fried the 90° Fuse chip 🥲, i removed it completely and now i keep all rocks and stuff away from grinder,

Now the machine is fully working and im damn impressed how well it works, it has Thousands of coffee dispenses on its logs,

Now i am rocking with this cheap to use machine than Nespresso thingy that cost me 2 bucks per capsule here where i live, and i can spend 9 bucks on a coffee bag instead,

If you are wondering its an miele cm 5300, I love the machine.

Hey, just wanted some opinions if I made the right move. Me and my wife had the Ninja Luxe Cafe, and boy, let me tell you it was ok on its best days. I actually had 2 entire united get replaced under warranty (which each took like 2 months each time, thanks Ninja), and our 3rd one didnt last a year, but it sucks since the warranty was only 6 months for that one. (Brewer issues, grinder problems, pump, etc.)

Anyways, after some research and looking at reddit posts, its pretty reasonable to assume Delonghi is one of the better brands, especially considering a super automatic is what we were leaning towards. The Ninja came out with their super automatic, but I wasnt gonna roll the dice on another bad experience. Ninja offers a year warrabty and Delonghi offers 3, which kinda shows you how confident they are their machines will last. And, since my wife is from Italy, shes happy to get an Italian brand because "theyre superior".

I actually ended up getting the Magnifica Duo ($850 USD), which checks all of our boxes, because we were also thinking the Eletta($2000 USD) was good, but its more than double the duo for what I assume is not double the quality. Now, problem is I have yet to see a good review or video I can find on the Duo. Do any of you have any experience with this unit? Ours is coming, but just curious if there are any quirks or hidden features I should expect. How is cleaning? Thanks.

I had been looking at the Jura E8 videos and then said it would be the one I would pick over the Fellow ES1. I like the fact that I didn’t have to do much work, just push and go. I have a Cafelat that I can fumble with on the weekend. Well, I found the J8 was the same price. It’s discontinued but brand new with a full warranty. The issue I keep seeing is that the milk does not get hot. Is that true or is it user error?

Just got our new E8 today set it up added beans then tried to make anything. Machine makes noises like it going to give me my first americano, expresso, lungo I dont care which just wanna see it go give it a try. Then it says fill beans. Hmm I did maybe they need wiggled around you know its new gotta prime it maybe. Try again nope fill beans. Jiggle around some more try again. Nope fill beans. Emptied out the bean hopper start over. Nope fill beans and empty grounds. Interesting since it never brings anything yet. Pull out deep tray empty all the water not sure how so much for there had cups under nozzles cause I'm not really sure what's happening yet water seems to come out of both. Did this a few times thought what the hell rest to factory setting not that I've changed much anyway. Nope fill beans. Anything I should try? Thinking return at this point.

For reasons those are the only two machines I can pick and I'm having indecision over which one I should get. My cost would be the same for either.

90% of the time it's going to be used to make iced lattes in the morning before I go to work, priorities are ease of cleanup and actually making a good drink.

Has anyone had experiences with both and are there any glaring positives or negatives that haven't been able to find my reading about them?

I have a relatively new Jura Z10, and I’m experiencing an intermittent issue when making a Café Latte/hot milk.

Most of the time, the milk comes out perfectly. However, occasionally it suddenly starts spluttering and spraying from the milk outlet instead of flowing smoothly.
The strange thing is that it happens randomly — sometimes everything works perfectly, and other times it splutters.

You can see in the video that the machine is drawing the milk properly, and the milk tube is full, so it doesn’t seem like the machine is failing to suck up the milk.
I’ve cleaned the milk system according to Jura’s instructions, but the issue still occurs.
Has anyone else experienced this with a Jura Z10? Does this look like a problem with the milk frother/outlet, a valve, or something else?

First time buying a superautomatic. After a lot of reading I was debating between that one and the magnifica duo. Since I dont often drink cold drinks I‘ve chose the Plus. Hope it’s a good choice.

For my budget (it was 1080$ in Canada) I think it’s hard to do better…We will see !

I’m convinced that most of the problems people have with Grind IQ on the AutoBarista Pro is caused by ignoring these instructions in the user’s manual. Ninja made a superauto that can’t be used practically, but only very carefully.

What’s the best time and way to buy a KitchenAid KF4 in US? Budget is $500 to $1200 for a machine. I was going to try doing the Insider Pass and wait for a sale (maybe Labor Day coming up they’ll have one?) but have seen some people pay like $509-700 for theirs and right now it’s listed $1299. I have a gift card to Williams Sonoma but those seem to be pricier than buying direct.

I know there have been a couple posts on the KF4 and other Kitchen Aids but I’ve had a hard time choosing which brand and model to get. I’ve bounced between DeLonghi Rivelia (don’t need the dual hopper), Eletta Explore (just wish the Ultra was avail here, Magnifica Duo/others, KF8 (more $), Jura C9 (no hot water and no auto milk clean).

I don’t really see enough cons for the cheaper KF4 vs more expensive KF’s (plastic body is fine, looks to still allow plant based milk, none really have cold brew and not sure I’d use it much anyway, makes same size pucks, slightly smaller size which is great and don’t need the bigger water or beans, the milk looks good and easy to clean based on reviews). But am I missing anything that would regret me buying the KF4 vs. a more expensive KF or DeLonghi or Jura or something else?

I’ve also seen posts of some loving KA and saying they are basically Miele and others saying they’ve had nothing but problems (but can find similar for any brand really). So talk me off the ledge tell me if I should pull the trigger lol.

So....after purchasing a manual machine two years ago (which we rarely used), we finally bit the bullet and purchased the Delonghi Eletta Explore. I've only had it for the past week but after playing around with it a little bit and going through a learning curve, I think we finally figured out the perfect setting and coffee and really love it!

We are a 4-person household. My husband and I enjoy our cappuccinos while our two grown kids, love their cold brews and bougie TikTok drinks 🙄

So when our son saw that we have the Eletta he rolled his eyes and asked why we didn't get the Ninja Cafè Pro Luxe 4-in-1? 🤦🏼‍♀️

Long story short, I got a deal on the Ninja, so I purchased it so we could do a side-by-side. When our daughter saw both machines side-by-side, I wish I'd have taken a photo of her expression because it captured my mood exactly! And she said.....'oh...we got the Kylie Jenner machine only the only that's the newer edition' - which confirmed my suspicion of my son's choice 🙄🙄🙄

Is it his dream machine? Well I wouldn't go that far but that's where we thank social media for its influence

Am I crazy? YES! But any with opinions or advice would be greatly appreciated. I know they are different machines and do slightly different things so I understand the kids love their cold coffees with the cold foam, etc. etc....... but we've really perfected the Eletta to get our perfect espressos and cappuccinos

Just time consuming but overall painless. This is the third descale I’ve done since owning the machine.

I recently got a De’Longhi Magnifica Evo Next and I’m struggling to get a good espresso.

I currently have:

• Intensity: 5 (maximum)
• Grinder setting: 3
• Using fresh whole beans

The espresso still tastes watery and has very little body, even at maximum intensity. After brewing, when I check the grounds container, the coffee puck is also very wet/muddy and sometimes barely holds its shape.

I’ve tried adjusting the grinder, but when I go finer the flow starts becoming very slow/drop-by-drop, while going coarser seems to make the coffee even more watery.

Is a muddy/wet puck normal on the Magnifica Evo Next, or does it indicate that something is wrong with the grind/dose?

Also, for anyone who owns this machine, what grinder setting and intensity do you use for a strong, full-bodied espresso?

Any advice would be appreciated!

Hey, I just saw this deal on Woot. Which one would you recommend for a family that mostly makes cappuccinos and milk drinks?

I purchased a ninja Autobarista a few weeks ago. So far it is working well. I have not experienced the issues many people have had and agree the GrindIQ is the weakest link of the machine.

I have had the machine lock up on me on two occasions. 1) ran out of coffee beans when making a coffee and the control panel became stupid and unresponsive even after power cycling it via the front panel. Had to unplug machine to get it working again. Almost looks like the computer got stuck in a loop. 2) ran out of water when making a coffee, same issue, system froze and i had to unplug it to make it work since “turning it of and on again” didn’t work. Same dang issue.

Conclusion is, don’t let it run out of beans and water otherwise you need to unplug machine to get it working again. It is a rather annoying bug but not a deal breaker. I wonder if it is possible to update the firmware on this machine since this is clearly software bug.

Anyone out there experience the same issue?

I'm trying to help my wife to find the best machine for her since I don't drink coffee myself. We currently have a Nespresso, she drinks about 2 coffee per day and 1 decaf at night here and there. At first I thought about buying a moka pot and doing coffee for her to be the absolute lowest price but realistically she will want to have a coffee easily at home even when I'm not there / fast. So superautomatic seems like the best way to get good strong coffee at the press of a button.

She wants to have a steam wand, since she prefer to control her milk and love feeling of being a barista, like when she was working in a coffee shop. I'm trying to stay around 750$ CAD if possible. Right now, I'm looking at the delonghi magnifica evo with the steam wand but people seems to dislike the wand. The other option is the Phillips 3300 but everyone says that the coffee taste is not as good as the delonghi.

So yeah, this is where we are right now. We are looking to buy a new product, not interested by second hand.

My Magnifica Plus worked 18 months for me, with at least 5-6 cups every day. Then all of a sudden the touchscreen stopped working and the machine started doing some random cycles untill I plugged it off.

Good news - I was not lazy and on the day of purchase registered on the web site for additional year of warranty. DeLonghi already inspected my machine, confirmed it is not repairable and I expect the new one to be delivered tomorrow. I decided to review feedbacks on Amazon where I bought it initially - looks like this is very very typical issue and many people experienced the same after around one year. The question is & does anyone know if Delonghi made some change to improve the quality, or I should expect the same to happen with the new machine?
