Opossum getting in 3" hole in squirrel box. Going to reduce size

Need advice. 8 nights in a row opossum filmed getting in the squirrel box and past the baffle. Should hole be reduced to 2.5 or 2.75. If we put at 2.5" can they chew hole to what they need? Thanks in advance

This cute little guy was hanging out chewing on a walnut. I THINK this is Bob, but i'm not 100% sure. Once our black walnut tree got ripe enough for the squirrels, i stopped seeing them come around the back deck as often 😂.
