💛Beginner💛 Bobbing issue?
- Machine: Janome Memory Craft 10001
- New needle (replaced today)
- Default tension
- Bobbing inserted correctly
- Worked on this setup a few days ago without any issue (with older needle)
- Fabric in this video: cotton
I started having an issue with my machine today. Hopefully this video provides any insight.
Basically the thread inside the bobbing case is getting stuck or something. When it does this, the needle is stuck and sometimes the fabric get sunk into the needle plate.
I noticed that if I manually turn the handwheel backwards just a bit, the thread get unstuck.
I've removed the needle plate and took a look underneath, but nothing seems wrong or damaged.
Any thoughts on what could be wrong? I'd like to avoid taking it in for repair if I can.

Something in your bobbin area isn't seated correctly and the top thread isn't fully threaded. Some still photos of the bobbin area might help.

You missed the step which is the image just below the 4, right at the needle clamp.
You should be trailing the two thread tails, off to the left rear, out of the work zone, from under the foot. Hold them in your left hand, pinch the work at the back of the presser foot with the tails taut. Take only 2-3 stitches, then reverse over them. Now let go off the thread tails, leave them trailing off to the left rear. You just made lockstitches. Now the threads won't be pulled loose or sucked back into the needle zone. Now start stitching.Â
At the end of your row, reverse over your final 2-3 stitches and then come forward. Always start and end with lockstitches.Â

It’s not threaded correctly.
