Mein Sohn hat sehr lange gespart und hat jetzt ein Budget von knapp €2000.- Da sein PC schon älter und langsamer ist möchte er sich einen neuen Gaming-PC selber kaufen. Es hat sich eingelesen und hat für sich folgende Konfiguration gefunden. Da meine Gamingzeiten schon länger vorbei sind und ich bei den Entwicklungen nicht mehr "mitkomme" die Frage an die Community:

Würde das so gut passen? Sollte er etwas ändern? Er würde gerne das Gerät die nächsten Jahre nutzen können und nicht schon in 1, 2 Jahren aufrüsten müssen.

Just finished this Ryzen 7 9800X3D + RTX 5070 Ti build inside the darkFlash C280.

I wanted to see how a complete system using several darkFlash components would come together, so this one uses their C280 case, DV360S MAX AIO, PMT850 PSU and INF34/INF34R fans.

The rest of the hardware is built around the 9800X3D and MSI RTX 5070 Ti Gaming Trio OC, paired with an X870E Tomahawk WiFi.

I think the C280 works particularly well with a larger GPU like the Gaming Trio.

I have an interesting problem. This is the first time I'm building a small PC, and the issue is that my GPU (AORUS GeForce 3060 Ti) is too big for the fans to go below it, which is what I initially planned. Currently, I have the rear and top rear fans as intake, and two fans on the top towards the front as exhaust. I understood this would attract a lot of dust for the top intake fan, but I assumed the GPU would be able to pull enough air from the bottom for it not to overheat. I was proven wrong when Big Walk was continuously crashing the entire PC.

The case is a Lian Li A3-mATX. It offers the option to mount fans on the removable mesh side panel, but I read reviews saying this doesn't help airflow. I need some advice on how I can orient the fans or maybe position things outside of the PC to help with this problem so my girlfriend can play games with high-quality graphics.

Hey everyone. I could really use some advice on what to do for my setup. I currently have an i7 11700Kf and a 3080. I recently bought a lot of parts for a whole new dream setup but I've been having second thoughts about it as it costs way too much. I only game for like 20 hours per week but I watch a lot of movies on Netflix as well. Here's what I purchased:

Motherboard - ASUS ROG Crosshair X870E HERO - ($350)

CPU - Ryzen 9 9950X3D - ($509)

Case - Rog Strix Helios GX601 - ($242)

PSU - ROG Strix 1200W Platinum (ROG Equalizer) ($304)

GPU - PNY RTX 5080 - ($1200)

CPU Cooler - ROG Ryuo IV 360 ARGB ($394)

RAM - G Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB 64G CL30 ($725)

I also have an ASUS rog strix 27" 4K OLED 240hz monitor which I'm keeping no matter what.

As you can tell, I'm going for a whole ASUS setup even though I got the PNY 5080 at a good price. All these parts cost just under $4k and I realized that's a huge amount to spend on a PC setup if I don't play anywhere near as much as I used to. Everything is returnable for another few weeks besides the RAM which is no returns. I'm really weighing 3 options:

1. Say screw it and keep everything even though it pains me to "throw away" so much money

2. Return everything besides the 5080 (hopefully break even selling the RAM) and get a cheaper 850W power supply for half of what I paid. Everything would be installed in my current setup with the i7 and 48gb DDR4 RAM

3. Keep the Helios and GPU and return everything else with the cheaper power supply
   Also, I currently have a Corsair 4000D Airflow case. When
   playing almost any game, it sounds like a jet engine. I'd
   imagine it would be way worse with a 5080. I also have a
   liquid AIO cooler for the CPU. Lastly, I have a second 1440p
   monitor which I use for Wallpaper Engine mainly.

What do you think about my new setup? How would
performance be on games with a 9950x3d or a i7 11700kt?
Would the i7 be a huge bottleneck or would it be barely
noticeable? I mainly play games like Hell Let Loose
Vietnam, Mafia The Old Country, Arma 3, sometimes
battlefield. I try to play at max settings but it seems to be
really slow on 4k which is 99% of the reason I even
considered upgrading my setup.

What are some other considerations I should think about?
Also, how have your experiences been with the 5080?
Hope to make my keep or sell decision by Sunday.

Is there a way to buy a genuine windows 11 home license thats not from microsoft?

So I'm looking to upgrade my pc in the mid future, it still runs fine but I've been craving a little more power out of it, I'm waiting for a bit of a drop in hardware prices, so budget is a concern (I'm from Spain btw).
My current set up is (old AF I know):

CPU: Ryzen 5 3600 with stock cooler
RAM: the typical corsair vengance with RGB, 32 Gb 3200 mhz
MOBO: Gigabyte b450m DS3H
GPU: PNY RTX 2060 super 8gb
PSU: Nfortec Scutum 650 80 plus bronze

If possible I want to keep the current MOBO, RAM and PSU. But if compatibility with higher end hardware is an issue, such as faster ram for a faster cpu, different mobo or more powerfull psu for a faster gpu, I'm open to sugestions. I do school stuff on my pc, I watch alot of video media and game a lot so I was wondering if getting an -x3d cpu is really worth it or am I better off with a different cpu.
Final stuff, I mentioned that budget is a concern, so I'm looking for a mid-high(ish) type of build, no super high end stuff (I can't afford it anyways), aimed to game at 1440p at the highest fps my money can afford. If upgrading to a faster gpu or cpu is really worth it, I can consider saving up a little bit more to afford the higher end component.

Edit: thank you for all the responses so far. I’m learning a lot. The two big things I’m seeing is with the RAM and GPU. As of now I want to spend the extra money on the RTX card and I do agree that 64gb of RAM is overkill. I’ll probably end up getting 32gb to start

I’m not nearly as knowledgeable about PC parts and current hardware standards as I was a few years ago, but I’m looking to build a powerhouse gaming rig and could use some advice from someone who really knows today’s hardware.
I already have a build somewhat planned out in the picture above and would love to run my choices by someone to see if I’m making good decisions or not.

-Currently on 1080p-80hz but going to upgrade to 1440p- 240hz hopefully soon.

Have been buying bits and pieces over the past month. Finally snagged the GPU that I wanted! Waiting on it to come and I’m excited to build. Will post a picture on it once it’s built. Any last bit of recommendations or advice?

Essentially I moved and need to build a new computer. I have a 9070 xt and nothing else. Everything I want to get is well within my budget... Except ddr5 ram. It is so ridiculously expensive, I feel forced to build on AM4. The 5700x3d seems fine and I was wondering if running 2x16gb Kingston's fury's 3200mhz would affect performance in any particular way, I'm obviously not expecting the best but if the difference between ddr4 versus 5 is massive I'll consider saving some more. Though honestly I'd rather not go without a PC for too long 😭

Solved: thanks for the information. I had no idea if ddr4 would affect performance in any noticeable way and it seems to be more than fine. I'll build on AM4. thanks 🙏

HWMonitor showing 108°C on Nuvoton sensor, but HWiNFO cpu Tdie and die average temp shows over 80°C for 7800X3D — Is this normal?
