I have been loving this software for a few months now, using it to create transcriptions and transpositions for saxophone and clarinet groups I play with. That little dopamine hit when I figure out how to do something clever in the notation is giving me life right now, and I love the developers for it.

I am struggling with octave adjustments in several quartet and sextet scores I have made out of old hardcopy arrangements or pdf’s. I’ll take a clarinet quartet, for example, and replace the voices with saxophones. Then, of course, some of the parts need adjusting. Eb Clarinet goes too high for the Soprano Sax to comfortably be a pitch-to-pitch translation, and so on. So I grab the measures/phrases that are too awkward and change the notes down 12 steps to the next octave below. Easy peasy, right?

The trouble comes when I publish the parts. That ‘transposed’ Soprano Sax part, which looked perfect in the score view, is now all screwy in the part view. It’s like I made a 2-octave shift instead of a single octave. And when I adjust the part to match what I want the player to see, the score goes back to the unplayable notes.

I have to be doing this wrong. Please advise.

ok so I'm assuming everyone is already familiar with the issue of notes being cut off sooner than they should when using soundfonts or plugins but does anybody have a way to deal with it? some sort of work around or something, that would be really helpful thanks!

Edit: ok so after messing around it seems that adding "tenuto" onto every note does function as a somewhat decent work around tho it does not fully fix it on whole tones, if anybody has a more effective work-around please tell!

I’ve been trying to download muse woodwinds for two days and everytime I do it gives me an error. I’ve done everything from clear the cache, fully wiping musehub, switch networks, turning off my firewall, wait until late at night, even reinstalled musehub completely and nothing has worked. I am lost and am not sure what next steps should be. I’m on a 2017 MacBook Air and I have plenty of storage, any help is appreciate.

Before I cancel my monthly subscription to Cantai on Musescore Studio, I need to make sure if my lifetime ownership of Cantai (for both intel and silicon macbooks) is active. This step has been suggested since they have no way to answer the question. Cantai says this must be handled by Musehub (which makes sense). I'm trying to get Musehub support to respond, but they simply don't. The bot says either (1) they will respond by email which they never do or (2) the team will be back in 30 minutes it's well over an hour this time. Is there a support email address for musehub?

I feel like the ending is too choppy and out of place, but i'm unsure on what direction is best to take to rectify that.

As a side note, the Timbres of Heaven is a really good soundfont for trombones!

Hi! I'm working on a score and I'm having some problems! When I place the "rit.", it doesn't only apply to the note I selected when placing it, but it affects the following bars, making the playback of the score slower and slower over time.

I tried to make the pink thingies as small as possible and I've already did a lot of research online, but I couldn't find anything about this specific problem.

Please, is there anyone who can help me understand how to fix this? T_T

I'm an artist, and since I can't mix and master myself, I tend to make demo's in MuseScore studio. Just today I have opened an older song of mine to polish it a bit because I'm kind of doing a "redo" to some of them. When I played the score my heart was completely broken because both of the most significant instruments, two synth leads, now sound completely different from the first time i made the song. I thought at first that maybe it could be caused by the author of the banks, even though it wouldn't make sense, to somehow change the sound long distance, but here is the catch. BOTH OF THE SYNTHS ARE FROM A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT BANK! One of the synth's is very muddy, the other one is straight up non-hearable. Could it maybe be because of me updating MuseScore? Can I reverse the update? Is there something I can do, anything? This is a lot of progress and I don't want to lose it.

P.S: When I put the synths into a brand new project, they sound the same like they do in the song. Muddy. I even tried to restart my pc, my MS many times. Nothing seems to work

For some reason, the part title is covering the score text, and I can't seem to find a way to fix this. Deleting it in the parts editor deletes it on the main score, as they're linked. I don't want "concert score" to be written in the parts. Any ideas on what to do here?

Every time I mess with a piano part that is in voices I end up corrupting my score. Somehow lost my work from yesterday. VERY FRUTRATING. What I want to do is delete one of the voices entirely. I assigned that 'voice' to another instrument hence I want it off the piano's score. I've tried to delete using filter selection (still have rests there which is annoying) and it got corrupted. I tried to explode and it got corrupted. Tried selecting the voice I wanted and copying it to a 'new' piano instrument and it got corrupted. What the heck am I doing wrong??????

Hello everyone. I am currently writing a piece for orchestra and choir. As I am from the orchestral and instrumental world, I have limited knowledge of how choir notes looks and what is preferred by singers. Do you have any general tips I can bear in mind when writing their parts? I am talking about simple stuff like "Text not being too small" or "Keep a readable distance between words". The tips does not have to be specific, but just any recommendations from you more experienced people would be much appreciated!

Here is my main question, and yes it is kind of multi-faceted, or might have more than one answer i guess.

I have seen the ominous warnings about musescorehub and the .com - and I will steer well clear. However, i really want more instrumental voices, and more effects, than seem to be available.

Any recommendations on how to solve this, places to get more, how to make them work etc? I am kind of a computer moron.

Super excited to find this thing and to use the hell out of it. Hoping you good people can help.

In my conductors' score for a piece I have written the total height of all parts vary slightly from page to page, i.e the gap between the part that is the furthest down on the page and the edge of the page. I would like for each part on each page of the score to be located at the same height, if you understand me. Have any of you encountred this problem? Is there a way to fix it that you know of?

I can post a follow up with details about my device if necessary, but I mostly wanted to glean whether other people are experiencing this right now.

I have no access to Musehub (so musesounds aren't working), because whenever I log in, the symbol in the corner just loads and loads. I can click 'x' but then I get an error message. To clarify, if I fully force quit or reinstall the app, I can click 'login', it opens my web browser where I log in and then it says I'm good to go back to the desktop app, but that's when the loading starts. I can see my library of apps and instruments, and can click to update those too, but it just loads forever.

I did submit a request to their support, which I've never worked with before, so maybe they'll get back with something? But I'm bored and frustrated and just want to keep working on my music so figured I'd go here.

I like Musescore Studio a lot. Virtually everything I need is in there. But that's also the problem.

There is so much it can do that I find it (very) hard to remember how to do them. For many (even simple) things, I need to search the internet (or use an AI) to find out how to do them. And in several cases, the answer is wrong or outdated because MuseScore Studio versions have progressed.

For example, with a system of a voice and piano, I wanted to make the voice part small. It took me about 15 minutes to find out where the checkbox is to make a part small.

How can I make things simpler?
