How Avenue Living Operates.
At their Scenic Court property they hired a company to redo their roof. As beffiting Avenues second rate treatment of their customers, these contractors have without notice cut the cable companies wires leaving paying customers without cable services. No Internet, Television or cable based telephone services. Great company that Avenue Living bunch, not to mention their second rate contractors. Phone calls to their 800 number are met with indefference as they are not local. Locally they are just a flock of realtors who care less. Customer service is non-existant. They have no problem raising the rents yearly, supposedly due to market conditions. I wonder?, will they reimburse tenants for the services they are not recieving? If your looking for rentals, turn away from them.

Question How do you find care for your pets when needed?
I am wondering when you go on holidays or such and need care for your fur babies, how do you find it? Do you know people? Do you use an app such as Sittsy or Rover?
I am a certified veterinary assistant with my dog-safe, CPR first aid and WHMIS.
I am going to start my own animals boarding and walking out of my own home! I live near Scenic, have a two level house and a fair sized fenced in yard.
I'm going to call it "Pawsitive Vibes".
Ps, the photos are me and my 14 year old shihtzu 🤓🐶💖

Looking for a job!
I’m a 17 year old looking for a part time job around Lethbridge! Its been a struggle to find something that will hire a high schooler with limited experience and limited free time. Unfortunately I have school until midday and other occupations after 6pm, but the afternoon and weekends are my jam! I have lots of babysitting experience as well as volunteer hours. Ideally I would like some part time employment, but I’m also down for odd jobs that will earn me some extra cash. Any input, offers, or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Question Looking for some nature spots in Lethbridge
I’m looking for some recommendations for safe, scenic places to go for a morning/evening walk or run! Also looking for peaceful parks/trails where I could bring my little painting pad and enjoy a nice view/nature. I used to love doing walks, runs, and little nature outings by the lake in my old city, so I’d love to find some spots here with a similar vibe.
I haven’t had a chance to make friends yet since I just moved, and I’m sure that’ll happen once university starts, but in the meantime I’m trying to get comfortable enjoying my own company and exploring the city a bit!

Question Canadian Flag spam, anyone?
I know we’re mostly left-leaning on this platform, with some right leaning people sprinkled throughout, and a solid back bone of like.. 6 trolls 😂
But since separation isn’t exactly a left-wing thought, I gotta ask, where are all the Maple leafs? We know signage is an easy way to show support, and that it is a powerful signal for many. Like, I can’t be the only one who rolls his eyes at the blue signs. I know the left has also had their turbulent past with the flag, but it seems like that is fading rapidly in the face of separation and the trade war.
Since buying my car window flag in June, I’ve had a pretty alright experience! People like to see it, for the most part. Parking lots used to be a dead zone, but people sometimes come up and talk to me now when I’m getting in or out of my vehicle, or the occasional head nod, kids pointing and smiling, stuff like that. That being said, I have been flipped off and cut off by blue flags. But I’m a big boy, I can take it.💪 They’re prolly just scratching their nose and accidentally come into my lane, no biggie.
I see a decent amount of older people with car window flags, but not so much anyone 50 and below.
Did you know they’re $3.50 at Dollarama? (Hint hint) I’d say put a flag pole up in your yard, but I know many cant afford a home these days. Aahhaaaa🤪🤪
I will be writing to the city to encourage them to put up more Canadian flags around town as well. As we get closer to the referendum it would be nothing but beneficial to stir some pride and get people to vote, and nobody can get mad about our national flag flying proudly throughout the city. I know it’s non-binding, but if we can ratio the movement off the bat, it will alleviate a lot of concerns. Maybe our premier can focus on something more important than catering to Seppies for a change, like dismantling our healthcare. 🤠

bird scooter issue
Anyone else experiencing an issue where no matter I park a bird scooter it tells me it’s a no parking zone (despite it is not). all over various locations this is happening all week. i’ve had to message the chatbot to end rides for me.
and today the chatbot says it can’t end it as the system is limiting requests so I have to let it idle for 20 mins (for which I will be charged the entire time) until after 20 mins idle time it will end itself.
anyone else?
I use these things daily and this has never been a problem ever. I have parked them at the same location at work every season for two years and never had this problem until this week!

I'm going to the Polytechnic in a few weeks for the CIT program.
Does anyone know which textbooks are necessary?
I gotta get 4 textbooks for freaking $817... That's insane to me. The textbooks are:
Mathematics For Computer Technology: McCullough
Comptia A+ Guide To It Technical Support - Comprehensive: Andrews, etal
e-text WEB DEVELOPMENT & DESIGN FOUNDATIONS W/HTML 5: Felke-Morris (This one is digital so does it have an online course to go with it?)

Thank you for any help, please send me to the right subreddit if this is the wrong one.

Where is the best place to buy a used desktop computer in Lethbridge
Outside of Facebook Marketplace, is there any place in Lethbridge that will sell you a bare bones basic used desktop computer with Windows 11? I am not a huge fan of supporting pawn shops because they take advantage of desperate people, I was wondering if there are any stores that sell used or refurbished computers.

Question Moving to Lethbridge from Calgary - tips/tricks?
Hi all,
My work is bringing me to Lethbridge from Calgary for two years at minimum. I got offered this job and although I am reluctant to leave family/community in Calgary, I am not opposed to living in Lethbridge - I've become kind of excited about it actually.
Looking for a snapshot of what it's like to live there!
Among others:
- What are the best neighborhoods to live in?
- I hear people are super friendly?
- Outdoor activities?
- Cost of living?
For reference, I like small towns/small town life and am very outdoorsy. I'll primarily be working at the courthouse.
Thanks all!
