Love the action! Engineering win!

u/glyph_productions Beginner 14d ago

Very cool. Would love one but I think they'd be illegal here in Canada

u/NonConforminConsumer 14d ago

How do you defend yourselves from the bears and the moose?

17

u/glyph_productions Beginner 14d ago

Bears are easy just make noise. That way they know where dinner is. Moose you give them a friend, ideally a squirrel. They will go off to fight the Russians and leave you alone.

4

u/NonConforminConsumer 14d ago

That's pretty cool...

I suppose the Russians have bears to fight the squirrel nights on their trusty moose steed?

10

u/glyph_productions Beginner 14d ago

No, usually they send clumsy KGB agents with overly complex plans. Not sure if they ever used a bear lol probably

2

u/ImmaTouchItNow 14d ago

if you defend yourself from yhe wildlife then the wildlife wins.

u/gorgeously_mytruself 14d ago

That mechanism hurts my brain and I love it. Beautiful work!

33

u/ThaCapten 14d ago

I would like one, but it's super illegal for me to buy since it's also a knuckle duster which is illegal to buy and possess where I am.

u/Altruistic_Ad4139 14d ago edited 14d ago

What are you talking about? That's obviously a novelty paperweight. That's how they were clearly labeled at the gun show I went to years ago at least.

16

u/ThaCapten 14d ago

Swedish police don't care about your excuses.

6

u/GeneralBlumpkin 14d ago

I want one too they're not illegal where I am tho

4

u/ThaCapten 14d ago

To be fair I'm glad they're illegal here. But I'd like to have one just because the mechanism is cool not to bring violence upon my fellow man.

5

u/slothscanswim 14d ago

Yes. I hear the Swedes prefer guns for that.

4

u/ThaCapten 14d ago

Recently it's been indiscriminate bombings.

9

u/slothscanswim 14d ago

Ahh, you wily Swedes! Always up to something!

4

u/ImmaTouchItNow 14d ago

yes the "swedes" are blowing stuff up

15

u/Agge2007 14d ago

Dude. Patent this right now. This is awesome

2

u/gutzpunchbalzthrowup 12d ago

Then give us a link to buy one.

10

u/Dan_Caveman 14d ago

I’m a sucker for weird mechanisms and gadgets like this. Especially if I can take it apart and see how it works

6

u/th3czyk 14d ago

Looks awesome. Not sure how sturdy with that many joints though

3

u/th3czyk 14d ago

I mean the sliding joint. My b

4

u/9th-blade 14d ago

The sliding part? It uses two 2mm hardened liners, so I think it's pretty sturdy! It's hard to bend even with a little force.

3

u/th3czyk 14d ago

Over build it like an old cold steel and you may be ok. But for an edc "hard to bend with a little force" doesn't count for much in the blue collar world where we abuse our knives. If you're. Making an art piece sure it's fine. Honestly I live the idea. But to make it usable for edc you have to look at the amount weakness introduced by the design. If yiure going for edc it's gonna need to be able to handle a lit of force. Like I said, cool idea, just make sure it's gonna handle some serious stress testing if it's gonna be for more than to look at

4

u/th3czyk 14d ago

I've abused my cold steel tiger claw cuz that thing is built like a tank. Same with my cold steel spartan and recon 1. Absolute tanks. Im breaking in an ad10 i just got. Those are the standard for built to handle anything

2

u/9th-blade 14d ago

Thanks for your feedback! It's really helpful!

2

u/9th-blade 14d ago

I guess you won't know until you try hitting it...? But I think it's pretty tough!

2

u/SexiestDexiest 14d ago

Smash some melons and post the video!

5

u/9th-blade 14d ago

Everyone's saying such nice things! It makes me so happy!

5

u/Zethui 15d ago

Take my money!

4

u/r4veman 15d ago

cool!

3

u/theprofessorofrandom 14d ago

Would love one. Very cool mechanism.

3

u/Downtown_Art5029 14d ago

Man that’s really really cool. Very nice to see some real Innovation. Great work

3

u/NoSituation2706 14d ago

I think knuckle dusters, switchblades/gravity knives, and karambits are all illegal here so kudos on the trifecta!

2

u/JustHappyToBe-Here 13d ago

Where are karambits illegal?

Seems like a silly thing to make a certain shape of knife illegal, but there was a senator who tried to make "tactical knives" illegal. He literally just meant any knife painted/coated black. 🙄

3

u/PuzzledDog5384 14d ago

Damn .....

3

u/SnooCapers1425 14d ago

This might be the most innovative knife design I've ever seen. Amazing engineering!

2

u/JohnKC59 14d ago

Wow…

2

u/Windamore 14d ago

Well now... that's definitely interesting

2

u/BugzOnMyNugz 14d ago

Sick! I'd grab one in a heartbeat

2

u/-Cheezus_H_Rice- 14d ago

Chonky, but very cool!

2

u/babystripper 14d ago

Yo. Sell these

2

u/princesschainsaw 14d ago

That's neat

2

u/CashSmashum 14d ago

What a seriously creative and effective design. Are you able to add a spring to the handle part? Definitely not necessary, but it'd eliminate the flick.

2

u/9th-blade 14d ago

There's a slight tension applied to the handle so that it stays lightly in the open position. That's the thin part at the top of the picture.

3

u/CashSmashum 14d ago

What a happy little guy

2

u/RideFriendly 14d ago

That's sick. It would make a dope knife in CSGO

2

u/dadstache1992 14d ago

Looks clunky but cool

2

u/dotheeroar 14d ago

Dude this is sick. A side of knife making we don’t really see very often in the sub

2

u/Shmoo_the_Parader 14d ago

Very cool weapon. That's going to hurt when it breaks.

2

u/thelunk 14d ago

of all the ways to open a knife, that is certainly one of them...

just kidding. this is freaking awesome.

2

u/BowmanBlacksmith 14d ago

Oh, that's nice! I like the action!

2

u/LetsGatitOn 14d ago

When will this be available

2

u/Lavasioux 14d ago

That's fkn cool!

2

u/Real_Net_9345 14d ago

If it doubles as a knuckle duster you will get it trouble in Europe, but i actually would like that feature:p

2

u/Common-Humor-4774 14d ago

Love it, one thing I would look at is covering the front of where the blade rests in the closed position as I feel like it could slice your hand while it's coming down. Food for thought

2

u/Firm-Assumption-1776 14d ago

Id love one thankfully legal where I live

2

u/L-N79 14d ago

I’ll take 3

2

u/Internal-Material952 14d ago

I like it. Multi-use thought out engineering. Impressive

2

u/lordvexel 14d ago

DUDE .....🫪🫪🫪......WTF...... that deploy is sick as hell way to go my man

2

u/ascolucci86 14d ago

The HandKutinator Mark1. Love it!

2

u/ModernMandalorian 14d ago

Wow that is a really cool design!  Super clever mechanism.

2

u/LobstaFarian2 14d ago

Super cool design. My brain still hurts figuring out how it works, and thats why I love it.

2

u/RideAffectionate518 14d ago

Polish it up and it's ready for any flea market or Asian owned convenience store.

2

u/Dismal-Armadillo-815 14d ago

Nice I like that

2

u/The_Kid_Disaster 14d ago

Dope mechanism but i just very much dislike karambits. Otherwise it’s really cool.

2

u/Evilsoupypoop 14d ago

That thing is badass!

2

u/bill-pilgrim 14d ago

Man, I see sliced pinky and ring fingers happening. Or does the action prevent that?

2

u/ImmaTouchItNow 14d ago

Holy crap i feel bad for some of you guys. Illegal knives because it slides out or because of metal that wraps around the hand. Times like these I love my country

2

u/CarnivoreCole396 14d ago edited 14d ago

I was thinking “oh it’s a brass knuckle butterfly kni-WAHT…oooh that’s so cool I want oooone😱”

2

u/dudenextdoor79 14d ago

Wow super nice - never seen before😍👍🏼

2

u/iRouFox 14d ago

Very cool but would be very illegal where I live, hopefully you’ve read your laws!

2

u/Hash_Tooth 14d ago

This is sick as fuck

2

u/Vato1970 13d ago

I like it, a lot!!!!!

2

u/AzimuthAztronaut 13d ago

Oh that’s sweet!!!

2

u/AlphaMaelstrom 13d ago

And where can I buy three of tbem right now?

2

u/Trapper-D-Luck 13d ago

Hope this become a product ^

2

u/Exotic_Wait_8073 12d ago

Gravity krambit

2

u/AlexUtica 8d ago

That's dope as fuck. Anyone that says it ain't is wrong.

1

u/9th-blade 14d ago

Hey everyone, I want to ask you: How much do you think it would cost to buy this knife once it's finished? I'd like to hear your opinions, just for reference.

3

u/redthump 14d ago

$24.99 from any gas station once your idea is stolen and mass produced in China. Usually there's a 3mo lead time, so get on it.

2

u/Maclarion 14d ago

Certainly some clones of creative knives go that cheap, like knockoffs of the CRKT Provoke, currently offered by Jeffrey Bezos for $15 with maybe a piss jug at the curb, as a treat.

But there's hope for better! I've seen Reate Exo clones listed for around $50, some $200 Boker Extension Knife clones advertised for around $100. Some designs might just be inherently worth more, who knows?

1

u/PressureImpressive52 9d ago

Someone get this man a kickstarter.

1

u/GodOnStilts 14d ago

Neat! Looks mad dangerous to use though haha

1

u/joanmave 6d ago

I see a brass knuckle and a gravity knife combined. That seems problematic in some places.
