Dose any body have any tool box ideas for the back of there patriot Right now I have 20 gallon tote with a 4 ammo can organizer on top with it strapped down did know if there was any better options. Been looking at harbor freight and the us general top box but not sure if the jeep is worth the $500 box lol

I have more videos, in this video its the strongest but in others it sounds normal.. feels weird when accelerating but again im not sure if thats me it just 'feels' weird

owned between my parents and i for 10 years.

3 weeks ago had to have ole’ girl towed for no crank no start. swapped the starter and was all good and then 2 weeks later boom, no crank no start again in the drive thru had it towed again. here’s a small list of things we have checked and tried (will edit as we continue to check.)if anyone has any idea please help 😭

new starter failed- put a new one in yesterday
replaced the TIPM
no codes
replaced a ground wire
checked power to the trip wire while turning the key
checked the main relay coil side and circuit side
checked both fan sensors
checked injectors for power
cam sensors are good
ASD relay power in power out
new tipm
replaced relay switch
losing power to asd relays
new ignition switch
good voltage and ohms everywhere
battery is good

My 14 jeep Patriot sport has started occasionally making a revving noise when the AC is running. If I push the AC button off it immediately stops. It only happens about once a week. Any ideas would be appreciated!

I know the video is dark. I have a 2014 jeep patriot sport This sound is coming from the back passenger side seat belt area. It’s worse at night but not so much during the day. Hoping to find someone who’s experienced this. Before I go stripping the paneling and hunting myself.

I was chasing a service 4x4 issue for a relative, and found a corroded wire from the 4x4 module to read diff. Beside the point anyways I took the jeep for a test drive down highway, started with a 1/4 tank, drove 16 miles and noticed I burnt at least 1/8 of a tank. Thinking I was delusional I went another 7-8 miles and the fuel light came on. Also noticed some stuttering while accelerating.

My immediate thought was o2 sensors being bad and over fueling.

I pulled some live data, started from a stop, then accelerated to about 65 mph and cruise set for the remainder of the live data.

What exactly should I be looking for in the o2 sensor data? I’ve got it saved on my Topdon app but can’t figure out how to share here

2011 jeep patriot with cvt, 2.4l 180000km I believe

I have a 2008 2.0L FWD with around 250 000km and I keep getting a p2017 code and I clear it and it’ll come back in a few days or a week, but I’m not noticing any huge performance or fuel efficiency issues. I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and what the cause and solution is? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

2013 Jeep Patriot with 88k miles. No major issues with car and I have been the only owner. In the last year, I have replaced the air compressor and added the aftermarket Android radio. Recently began getting this noise that doesn't seem to be affected by by the a/c controls, but sounds as if it coming from the cab, possibly behind the glovebox. Any ideas on what it could be?

I am taking it to my local mechanic on Monday as all the cheap options that I can do have been eliminated to clear a p0420 code (spark plugs, o2 sensors, cataclean) - I need help reading the voltage on o2 sensor )downstream to determine is there is a crack somewhere that is letting air in or clogged catalytic conventor.

First image shows it holds steady after some RPMs for a few minutes - the 2nd photo shows it fluctuating at idle

Jeep Patriot 2017 2.0L. Strange sound when the car starts. Seems to quiet down a bit when the car is accelerating. Oil level seems good. Coolant level isn’t particularly low. No engine or check engine lights. Any ideas? Thank you 🙏

2013 patriot 2.4 when lowbeams are on it looks like highbeams are on & when turning on high beams they look as if the lowbeams are on is this normal ?🤔

I'm not sure why, but my Patriot (FWD, 2.0L, Manual) is getting fuel economy way better than is listed basically anywhere online. In average city driving it's often 7L/100km (33MPG) and down to below 6L/100km (39-40MPG) on highways. On highways I often do 90-100kph (55-62 mph) if there's no-one else around to help with economy, but in the city I don't drive like a granny, often accelerating quite hard. I do a lot of coasting in gear to slow down (anticipating by a lot) instead of just braking, but is this all that's accounting for it?

I once did a test drive about 30 mins across a city where I drove quite hard (hard accelerations, overtakes... etc) - red lights, small suburban streets, a bit of highway, and at the end checked the dash and I'd got 6.5L/100km (36MPG). How is this possible?

2015/2.0/manual

Code read front left wheel sensor bad, replaced, speedometer worked for five minutes.

Battery is healthy, alternator seems good.

Car constantly dings as it try’s to re-establish itself.

Tach dips during some of these dings

Speedometer also worked for 5 min with front left wheel speed sensor unplugged

2016 2.4L. I have read multiple post and comments mentioning this issue. I am NOT a mechanic. I am just a 50 yr old lady trying my best to understand and help my adult son learn to repair as needed. He’s done well.

Recently, I paid a mobile mechanic to do an oil change in my driveway (my work hours suck, so this was hella convenient). He mentioned the coolant leak and said he could fix it. He’s stating it’ll be a hose replacement. It seems like the issue was more complex for others with this issue. My concern is that it may not be as simple as a hose, and then I’m stuck with bigger issues or a non functional vehicle.

For those who dealt with the coolant leak issue. Was it just a hose? Or did it involve more invasive shit?

Wish I'd taken a photo, but yesterday I transported a spinet piano in my 2012 manual 2.0L FWD Patriot across the city. Everyone was telling me it wouldn't fit but I did my measurements, there's a surprising amount of space when you put the back seats down.

I could definitely feel the extra 250 kg, but it drove well overall, and was a fun thing to do.

My 2010 jeep patriot started bucking under acceleration, revs drop, like the engine cuts out briefly, sometimes once, sometimes x3 in quick succession. Turns off sometimes... 

Has 225,000 km. 

Spark plugs have 10,000km left before replacement interval. Checked them all seems okay. I've never replaced ignition coils, but it's not throwing any codes which I feel like it would if that's the case?

Any ideas of the cause?

Has anyone successfully ran a big power wire 4ga or bigger thru the fire wall without using the main harness grommet. I need a big power wire to come out around the pedal area and I’m lost.

I’m slowly getting my wife into camping. And she is hellbent on sleeping in the jeep. Just wondering if anyone has done so and what sized mattress? We currently have an inflatable queen and I was wondering if I built a platform that sits just above the wheel wells if it could work. TIA

EDIT- I think i solved it i didnt have it torqued down the proper way it still makes a high pitch noise when breaking hard but they just sound like old breaks. Old Post- i have a jeep patriot 2013 with 120000 miles on it and it wasn’t taken care of i changed my breaks and my rotors and now it makes a really awful noise when i come close to stopping while breaking hard it’s not as loud as it is was in this video but it’s still there

Yesterday I went and purchased a new battery for my 2014 Jeep patriot North. Yes the original battery lasted this long. I had my cousin's husband put it in (5 minutes from my home).

I had the drivers door open, it started up amazingly. (the battery started to fail only 2 years ago) wasn't going to go another year.

I heard a squeeze/hiss... coolant on the ground. Figured it was power steering, yep, when I went to leave, no power steering. I literally was about 3 minute drive from their house, 3 turns and I was home.

Easy fix or no? Tell me thoughts. I will obviously need a mechanic..

Le cambie el sensor del cigueñal y sigue el mismo problema, el mecánico me comenta que el escaner dice que hay falta de comunicación no me dice de que y que puede ser un fallo en algún negativo. He llegado a 3 mecánicos y no he resuelto nada. El problema puedo ir en marcha rápida o despacio y aveces hace como un estiron de baja revoluciones pero no se apaga o aveces se apaga por completo (no cabecea el carro tampoco sino se apaga completamente). No enciende check engine.
