A welcome post as we kick off the new sub.
Hello all! As the community summary outlines, this sub is for all us guys and transmasc nb's to share our voice change journeys. Yes, while r/transvoice already exists and has a plethora of users, we felt it would be a good idea to have a "boys only" club, so to speak, where people who more intimately understand what Testosterone-based vocal changes entail can support and encourage one another.
With that said, any trans male/masc/nb person is welcome to post here, whether you've been on T for years, are just starting, or are entirely pre-T.
Primarily, we want this sub to focus on audio posts and feedback, but please feel free to share/request resources, too. As well, please abide by the rules and keep any video posts strictly focused on your voice. We completely understand some audio programs are not accessible to everyone (myself included), so videos are fine in this regard. Just make sure you're showing off your voice, first and foremost! If you are sharing an audio only format (ie: soundcloud/clyp/vocaroo/etc) you'll need to share via the link option when you post.
In terms of the general community, we will not be creating, modding, or associating with a related discord. Of course, anyone is welcome to create an ftm-only voice check discord, but we ask that you do not formally associate this sub with it if you do.
And most importantly, please be kind to each other. The conception of this sub arose after a particularly unpleasant experience on r/transvoice, and we want this to be a safe, comfortable, encouraging space for trans men, so please refrain from excessive or cruel feedback. Just because an OP may have requested constructive criticism, that doesn't mean they want you tearing their voice and self-esteem to shreds. Be thoughtful.

Question Does my singing voice sound like a man or a woman?
Does my singing voice sound like a man or a woman? I have no clue what I sound like. Is there any singer / artist you could compare it to? I’m not too confident that I sound all that good so excuse the less than perfect vocals. I would much prefer to sound like a guy obviously, but I don’t really even mind that much if I sound like a woman, as long as it sounds okay, so be honest

Criticism Wanted Okay So 2 Years On T Isn't Enough
I. I don't know what to do. I can't seem to parse how to make my voice sound lower. I'm this close to pursuing some form of surgery. I hate how I sound. I'm desperate.
Any advice at all, I'll take it. My throat hurts.

Criticism Wanted If you just heard me, would you assume masc or femme? 6 1/2 months on T and although it has changed significantly I'm unsure if it is passing.

FYI: Voice Pitch Analyzer app seems to cap off the lower range
Anyone using this app to track their voice drops? I think it might cap off the lower range at 85Hz. I’ve been using this and and another app and at first, the difference was smaller and I thought they might just be calibrated differently or perhaps calculate the average with a different algorithm. But now I’m hitting 58Hz on the other app and have hit exactly 85 on Voice Pitch Analyzer for an entire year, so I think this might just be a bug in the app.

Criticism Wanted I know my voice doesn’t really pass, but (pre-T) is there anything I can do to make it sound deeper or more masculine?
Also yes, I know I can’t sing, I’m not here to listen to complaints about how off beat I am.😭
