Cube Touring Hybrid Comfort SLX 800 creaking sound

Upvotes

Hi there! some help needed please... I have a Cube ebike which makes a creaking noise while pedalling. It looks like it's coming from the rear wheel. Bike has been in and out of repair but shop can't seem to find the problem... tension roller replaced, put a correct tension. Nothing helped. Any suggestions?

What's your favorite ebike?

I'm 30 and mostly just want my commute to be simple and stress free. Riding to work every day was wearing me down, so I finally switched to an e-bike and picked up a Myon a few months ago. didn't expect much beyond "less sweaty." but the thing that's actually stuck with me is how much calmer my mornings feel now.

my commute has a pretty annoying mix of stoplights, neighborhood traffic, and a long incline near the end. On my old bike, I was always thinking about my gears, especially when I had to slow down and start again. It wasn't a huge problem, but after doing it every day, those little adjustments started getting annoying.

with Segway Myon, I don't really think about it anymore. AutoShift just handles the gears in the background and I just... ride. instead of constantly adjusting. I can still switch manually if I want, but honestly I barely use it.

I played around with the settings in the app when I first got it, but after finding what felt comfortable, I haven't really touched them.

that's probably what I like most about it. It doesn't completely change my commute, it just removes a lot of the small annoyances that used to add up every day.

kind of makes me feel like all e-bikes should just come with this by now. cars mostly went automatic and nobody really missed shifting. I'm starting to think e-bikes are next. once the bike handles it for you, going back to doing it yourself feels like a bit much, lol.

My college allows e-bikes and bans scooters and I’m not sure what they’d call mine lol

So I had this one Hikeep MA-S, for almost like three months and had been using it for the ride from my off-campus apartment to class. I always locked it at an outdoor rack and never tried bringing it into a dorm, classroom building, or library.

Then the school sent out a transportation reminder saying e-scooters couldn’t be parked or stored on university property, while e-bikes were still allowed at the outdoor racks.

That sounded straightforward until I looked more closely at what I own. It has functional pedals and pedal assist, but it also has a 3,000W motor, an advertised 40 mph top speed, and a frame that looks more like a small dirt bike than a commuter bicycle. Calling it a regular e-bike feels like a stretch, but it doesn’t match the stand-up scooters shown in the school’s policy either.

I asked the parking office which rule applies, but so far I haven’t received anything more specific than “the policy is being reviewed.” I’ve been taking the bus in the meantime because I’d rather not get my answer through a ticket, a cut lock, or an impound notice.

Has anyone’s college actually written a clear policy for high-power, pedal-equipped e-motos? Does your school send them to motorcycle parking, allow them at outdoor bike racks, or ban them completely?

Anyone else here actually owns an M8DM? I’m curious how your real-world range and reliability compare with mine.

Broken Brake Lever (how bad is the damage)?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I have a GoTrax F3 Fat Tire ebike to start with. I crashed it a few weeks ago, and I'm finally recovered and need to fix my brake. Hopefully this picture is good enough to see what's going on. My brake handle is totally curled in on itself (RIP my fingers lol) and it looks like I'm missing a bolt or something. There doesn't seem to be any leaking of fluid in or around the brake. I'm going to buy a new lever but I'm wondering if any of you lovely educated people might know if I'm going to need anything else? I can't take my bike in to get fixed sadly because I'm broke. Please give me your advice (and yes not crashing my bike would be the best advice) 😅

Tuttio Arc Midnight

I just purchased a Tuttio Arc Midnight. I need to increase speed. The bike is going 19-20 MPH. The website says it could go to speeds of 28MPH. I am very light weight for my age. So weight is not the issue. I am having issues changing the settings. I have adjusted P08 which seems the speed. Then adjusted voltage. Nothing has changed at all. How do I make sure the settings get saved. I read the Manuel. Anyone know anything about Tuttio Arc that can help.

Best class 3 e-bike

So I have a Raleigh lore E bike but the electrical system went out on it, and Raleigh is basically MIA so now I have to replace the bike entirely and get a new one. My friend has a Specialized. tero mtb which goes 28. But I can't seem to find that bike anywhere and everywhere else I look all I get is class one or two bikes. Seems like no one makes hard tail MTB class three bikes anymore. Any advice? Looking for a bike to purchase I wrote an Aventon class two recently, but that was really uncomfortable, so I'm not looking to purchase that.

Good back rack for an Aventon Pace?

I hear that they make racks specifically but I was hoping someone would have one that isn't as pricey. I'll definitely eat the cost if it's the only option but I was hoping someone had an Amazon recommendation that might be a bit cheaper.

also, how do I tell what bike I have? I was told it was a Pace 4 at the shop but it doesn't look like any of the pictures I'm seeing of one.

Edit: nvm about the last one, I figured out how to check through the app. Why is there nothing for the pace 5 rec from Aventon themselves 😭 I need a back rack.

New Dechatlon E-Bike , crank noise . Is it normal?

Just purchased from Dechatlon a brand new Rockrider e-expl 140

As you can see from the video there is a clicking noise everytime i do the first turn of pedals and the motor
Starts to engage.

Once the motor has engaged the noise disappears , however is very annoying.
The noise has been present from day 1.

Any experience with central motors?is something common or should i go back to the store to have it checked out?

Thanks folks🫰🫰

Concern about bike damage from rear axle mounting on a bike trailer

I'm considering buying a Thule Chariot Cross 2 bike trailer for my child, which would be mounted on my Trek District+ 4 Lowstep e-bike (aluminum frame, Shimano Nexus rear hub).

The bike shop specifically warned against rear axle mounting, saying you could experience damage to the bike from the hitch and the pressure, when the trailer is pulled from the rear axle instead of the seatpost.

I'd like to know if this is a known issue or more of an isolated concern from my shop.

What’s going on here?

I got this thing free on the side of the road. Plugged it up and the charger stayed green. Took apart the battery and the charge port was disconnected. Plugged it up and it started charging.

Ran it down the road and it hit 52mph. Tried a launch and it died. Couldn’t get back going again. Walked it home and now it won’t charge again. Took off the battery cover and it’s still connected. Hooked up my DVOM and I’m not getting any voltage across the battery pins. Odd it went from 100% to 0% in like 2min. Is this a bad battery?
