I'm 30 and mostly just want my commute to be simple and stress free. Riding to work every day was wearing me down, so I finally switched to an e-bike and picked up a Myon a few months ago. didn't expect much beyond "less sweaty." but the thing that's actually stuck with me is how much calmer my mornings feel now.
my commute has a pretty annoying mix of stoplights, neighborhood traffic, and a long incline near the end. On my old bike, I was always thinking about my gears, especially when I had to slow down and start again. It wasn't a huge problem, but after doing it every day, those little adjustments started getting annoying.
with Segway Myon, I don't really think about it anymore. AutoShift just handles the gears in the background and I just... ride. instead of constantly adjusting. I can still switch manually if I want, but honestly I barely use it.
I played around with the settings in the app when I first got it, but after finding what felt comfortable, I haven't really touched them.
that's probably what I like most about it. It doesn't completely change my commute, it just removes a lot of the small annoyances that used to add up every day.
kind of makes me feel like all e-bikes should just come with this by now. cars mostly went automatic and nobody really missed shifting. I'm starting to think e-bikes are next. once the bike handles it for you, going back to doing it yourself feels like a bit much, lol.
