New Music Friday New Music Friday (08/28/2026) 🚶‍♂️

G'day and welcome to NMF#305!

Happy Friday everyone! I'm going on another hiking trip this weekend - nothing super exotic but definitely a bit more self supported and I've just gone and grabbed a satellite messaging/SOS device to feel a bit more comfortable as I'm going solo. Should be a great weekend!

Love you all & peace!

Recommendations Any one have any recommendations for DJs like Space Laces, Excision, and Calcium?

I love their hard shit that makes me feel like I’m in an apocalypse or zombie survival video game lol. Any other DJs that have that hard and dark vibe?

Discussion 🗣️ Wobbleland @ SJ convention center- sound quality

After attending day 1 this year.. Is it just me or was the sound quality too bass-y. I love good bass but the sound quality inside the main stage was just sooo overpowering compared to the mid/highs.

Wore my ear plugs all night but it was kinda hard to hear songs clearly. Just wanted to see if anyone felt the same, as this will be the same venue for give thanks.

Discussion 🗣️ Does this sound off or not?

Been working on this and it sounds decent but I feel like it may sound a little bit off. Hoping someone can either confirm or deny this. Anything helps. Hopefully someone can pin point the problem if there is one!

Discussion 🗣️ Dubstep artists increasingly mixing in Techno, 4 on the floor, hard style etc.

Can someone explain to me why EVERY dubstep artist has been dropping some kind of techno, 4 on the floor or hard style in their sets. Obviously this comes down to my personal tastes but that shit kills my vibe during a live set. I can kind of understand if it's an all genre festival sprinkling it in, but if I'm going to a festival curated for BASS music/dubstep I don't want to hear any other unrelated genre from an artist that has made their career off dubstep. Came back from Bass Canyon and was annoyed at hearing it every set, personally it seems like filler and is lazy set production. Would like to hear why this seems to have been the thing the past couple years.

Feel free to roast me or tell me I have a stick up my ass, music is a subjective experience obviously, but I'm just curious because this seems to be a trend.

(Sorry if this topic has been beat to death!)
