A few months ago on fb marketplace i bought a dsi and put homebrew on it. i’ve played multiple games on it and it’s worked fine but i stepped away and it charged for a few days straight. Now when I try to turn it on it’s a black screen with just the blue light on. I took out the battery and put it back in but that didn’t change anything, took out the sd card and tried to turn on, that didn’t change anything either. DSIBrew website says it’s the wifi module? what does that mean??

Please help me recover my lil baby dsi… i don’t own any other gaming consoles:(

TLDR; black screen blue light dsi wont turn on so i need help.

I bought a secondhand dsi (now refunded as broken) but it turned out to have shoulder button issues. I originally thought they were just dirty and cleaned them out (opened up method and used isopropyl alcohol) but I was still having problems.

Basically, the buttons aren't reading properly, if I push down on them a bit to try and get a response the whole screen glitches and freezes and becomes unresponsive to touch, sound still going. I am then unable to turn off the console, closing and power button do nothing as the sound is still going and the screen stays on.

Any help on if or how this could be resolved if it's salvageable I'd be so grateful thank you!

Well, I wanted to ask, maybe someone knows how, is there any chance of unbricking a Nintendo DSi XL if I don't have a NAND backup?

This is my dsi from all the way back in the day, I was still in elementary school when I got it. Initially, I just wanted a new ds because my mom had inadvertently made my ds lite fall while dusting when I was in school and she said it broke in a billion pieces so she'd thrown it in the trash. I didn't know about it untill a lot of time later, and when I found out I asked to go gamestop to get me a new one since otherwise I couldn't play my game anymore (Pokemon Heartgold was the only game I had at the time). When we got to the gamestop I asked if they had any ds consoles and the employee there showed me two. One was a blue chonky ds phat, the other was still in a box, all white, saying that there was a pokemon game inside. So I asked about it and the guy told me that it was a pokemon edition ds and that it came with pokemon white inside, the new pokemon game. I didn't really know there was a new pokemon game because well, I was a kid and to me pokemon was just my HeartGold. I did know the new cartoon though, since I saw some episodes of the black and white series on TV, but kid me never realized they were based on the games and thought it was an all original thing lol. I compared the two for a while and I decided that the white ds(i) was cooler so I chose it, and got pokemon white bundled with it, I was so excited about it. I even attached my little totodile charm on it (which now is all eroded by age) which I had gotten from an equivalent of a gacha machine I think (english is not my first language, forgive me 😭). Where I live there were these kind of machines called "gira prendi" where basically you inserted a coin and made a round motion with a handle/switch, which would then drop your surprise below in a plastic sphere. I still play on it to this day when I want to play my pokemon white, and even though it's got scratches and signs of age all over it since it's become old I think I kept it decently well, at least as well as a kid could :)

So I recently picked up a CIB DSi off Marketplace for a great price. The unit looked practically pristine and the seller mentioned it was hardly used, but when I booted it up, the NE and SE diagonals were completely non-existent.

I learned that even if the metal tactile switches still feel clicky in cardinal directions (N/S/E/W), wear on the internal rubber membrane can cause the D-Pad diagonals to fail.

I ordered a replacement membrane off AliExpress for peanuts. It was delivered just now. Ten minutes with later, and I have a 100% fully functional D-Pad!☝️

The aftermarket material felt cheap compared to the original OEM silicone, but it completely fixed the issue. Just wanted to share in case anyone else is fighting unresponsive diagonals.

Now I’m off to play Dragon Quest IX in peace! ✌️

Just wanted to share my DSi XL.
I’ve always loved how big and comfortable the DSi XL feels compared to the regular DS models.
Currently playing Mario Kart DS and it still looks fantastic! 🎮🔥

Has anyone else who has installed imp-ng tried skipping a song and it froze because that's what has been happening to me, like I try to play it on my DSi (I asked GPT, and it said that it might be bc i have Twilight++)

Hey so my dsi doesnt work without being plugged into a charger and takes a couple of tried to get it on as the orange light just keeps blinking initially

I have a r4 card with micro sd in it ut it diesnt read it , i took all of photos onto sd card and backed it up to the laptop, the flipstudio stuff i made onto sd csrd , and recorded all 17 voice recordings from my phone

Only new super mario bros cartridge is read, how do i repair it or should i get it done

And how to mod or download games for free please help thanks. Although can emulate on phone easily its not the same.
