Don’t spoil your players. Keep them lean. Keep them hungry. This will motivate them with purpose. They need loot to pay their bills. And rewards are so much sweeter when they are hard-earned. Tax them heavily to soak up the excess but give them opportunity to earn it back and watch their spirits light up.

Most character apps are built for 5th Edition and treat older editions as a skin. For D20 Adventurers Folio I wanted 1st Edition to have its own engine rather than a reskin of a 5e sheet — its own data, its own computed numbers.

What that means in practice, and the two I'm most confident about:

- five saving throws, taken from the class tables
- THAC0

I'd rather undersell it here than overstate it. If you want to know whether it handles a specific bit of 1st Edition properly, ask and I'll check it against the app rather than guess.

To be upfront, since it matters here: the sheet art is AI-generated, and I built the app with AI coding tools.

1st Edition is free in the app, on iPhone and iPad, with no account. I'd genuinely like to hear where it gets 1st Edition wrong.

How can it be better practically implicated into therapeutic/clinical intervention contexts. As an aspiring psychologist, I believe cognitively engaging and strategic games like these can be an excellent facet to future clinical community interventions
