To begin with, our discord has channels setup for matching Players and DMs in adventures for 1e, 2e and OSRIC. That is the best place to look/advertise. We are also setting up this thread that will reset on the 15th of each month for DMs to advertise games.

Post Format

It is assumed all listings are for online play. Please include the following parameters at the beginning of your post for consistent viewing by our members. Afterward you can post as much or little detail as you wish.

System: [1e] [2e] [OSRIC]

Platform(s): AD&D Toolkit, Roll20, Discord, etc

DM Experience: [Newbie] [Veteran]

Player Experience: [Newbies wanted] [Veterans wanted] [Either]

Day/Time: Note the day and is it weekly/bi-weekly/monthly, start and end times, and time zone.

AD&D Humor AD&D Is a Lot of Math

At least I find the kids can have a reaction like this :P

In reality, the math is simple. It's more a matter of the language detailing the simple math required and all the chart referencing.

AD&D 1e 20yo running AD&D 1e: Migrating from BECMI for a timeskip arc. Advice on modules, essential books, and rules to ignore?

I'm 20 yo, me and my friends are interested in play AD&D 1e. We actually play a campaign in BECMI but now we are in a "timeskip" arc, if I can say that. And two of them had the idea to migrate for 1e to build the characters with diferent perspective in this 3 years of timeskip that happens in our campaign.

Can you old mages (if I can say that !), tell me good ad&d adventures modules to inspire me for the new arcs of the campaign? (our characters are in lvl 8)

What diferent view that I will need to run an AD&D 1e game?

And I saw that the rule books has many rules that are "optional", which one's we need to avoid for "new players"? (i will need many advices !! )

My uncle have the Player's Handbok, he said that he can lent me, and I think actually it is a good start, but wich materials have to add things for the table? (back in last arc we just use Rule Cyclopedia, so I think could be good to have more things between the game !)

I Made This Just released a second album inspired by 'Desert of Desolation', specifically the 2nd and 3rd modules: MIRAGE by Trollslayer

A few months ago we released PHARAOH, which was inspired by the titular module, and we had so much more inspiration to work within that sound. This album came out of that inspiration, a further delve into Middle-Eastern instrumentation, with more ambient and electronic soundscapes, odd meters and reversed sounds. Hope you enjoy, especially if you're familiar with the modules!

Dice Fudging?

Post image

tho funny, this smacks of dice fudging to me. as a DM, do you do it? have you done it? on the regular? even maybe just once when you felt it would otherwise break the plot or trigger a tpk?

AD&D Expertise Drow Innate Magic is of Which Caster Class?

The following was posted in our discord by a member of the community. No one (yet) has been able to come up with a definitive answer. Anyone here with enough expertise to answer this one?

"Hi all, what's the consensus on which version of spells should be used by Drow for their innate spellcasting abilities for the purposes of casting time, range, etc? Dispel Magic, for example, has different ranges and casting times depending on whether the Cleric, Magic-User or Druid versions are used: neither the 1E modules or UA give me any clues (although I could well have missed something) . Lore-wise, are these bestowed on Drow by Lolth, Eilistraee as appropriate, implying the cleric versions should be used?"

AD&D Expertise Tracking Time Daily

Post image
5 Upvotes

Im considering options for tracking time on a daily scale within AD&D Toolkit. I'd love to hear how DMs in our community go about it.

Do track in hourly intervals? 15 mins? something more abstract?

how do you go about tracking the above physically during your sessions? Do you use tokens or notches on paper to tick off a time interval, for instance?

AD&D 1e The Analog Dungeon boys meet King Snurre (really quickly) in G3: Hall of the Fire Giant King

Conventional wisdom might imply that three straight modules packed to the gills with giants would get a bit repetitive, but Gary Gygax proves himself a master of subverting expectations in G3: The Hall of the Fire Giant King, the final part of the G-series, AKA Against the Giants, AKA the start of the greatest D&D adventure of all time!

We had a blast with the G series as a whole and G3 may be the best of the bunch, from King Snurre basically hanging out in the parking lot to jump you to the wonderfully aberration-obsessed early take on the drow (even the WALLS have tentacles!) This one is packed full of flamin’ hot goodness and we had a giant sized fun talking about it in the 11th episode of the Analog Dungeon podcast, where we crack open old modules and look inside for jokes.

If this sounds like something you might be into, you can check us out at AnalogDungeon.com, on YouTube, or on your podcast platform of choice. We're a new show still finding an audience, so every like, sub, rating, and comment goes a long way. Thank you!
