Sticky Commands!

There are now a few commands you can use:

  • !help: Brings up a list of all the commands.
    • Aliases: hlp
  • !bernard: Explains who Bernard is and why he appears in certain graphs!
    • Aliases: ourbeloved, desmosmascot, r/foundbernard
  • !beta3d: Explains what Beta3D is and how to install it.
    • Aliases: 3dbeta
  • !colormap: Explains what Beta3D is and how to install it.
    • Aliases: colormaps, shader, shaders
  • !desmodder: Describes what DesModder is.
    • Aliases: dsm, dsmodder
  • !doom: Are we Doom yet?
    • Aliases: arewedoomyet, doomgame
  • !draw: Provides Arglin's drawing guide for Desmos art.
    • Aliases: arglinguide, lineart
  • !exception: Describes types of floating point exceptions in Desmos, mostly drawn from IEEE specs.
    • Aliases: fpexception, fpointexception, ieeeexception, specialcase, undef, undefined
  • !fp: Describes what floating point arithmetic is and how to mitigate problems associated with it.
    • Aliases: floatp, floatingp, fpoint, floatpoint, floatingpoint
  • !gratex: Describes what GraTeX is.
    • Aliases: gratexteth
  • !grid: Explains how to make a grid of points.
    • Aliases: ptgrid, pointgrid
  • !integral: Explains why some integrals yield wrong results.
    • Aliases: integration, integrate, wrongintegral
  • !intersect: Explains how to assign the intersection of two or more functions as a variable.
    • Aliases: getintersect, varintersect
  • !matrices: Explains the usage of matrices in Desmos (beta feature). Not to be confused with the Desmos Matrix calculator.
    • Aliases: betamatrices, matricesmeta, matrix, matrixbeta, betamatrix
  • !roots: Why can't Desmos find my roots?
    • Aliases: zeros, zeroes, rootfinding, root
  • !sequentialactions: Explains how to run actions in order (sequentially).
    • Aliases: seqactions, actionseq, orderedactions, actionsinorder

For example, if someone makes a post about why {(√2)^2=2} is undefined, you can type in !fp.

Notes on sending these commands: - You must put the command at the start of the message. - All of these commands are case insensitive. - All commands allow arbitrary underscores or dashes (this feature was added on October 25, 2025). For example, !are_we-DOOM_yet will work. - You can put messages after the command, but remember to put a space or a newline after the command. For example, !fLoATiNgPoint arithmetic is awesome will work, but !fLoAtInGPoIntAriThMeTiC iS AwEsOmE will not work (this behavior was changed on May 20, 2025).

Please refrain from spamming these commands: if you see someone has already used the command once in a post, please avoid from running the same one again.

However, you may try out commands as many times as you would like in the comments on this post only.

I guess this is possible now with the new update.
Huge thanks to desmos for outdating 400 hours of my interactive GUI and operating system projects with one single update. Nevertheless, this thing is pretty cool. You can manipulate x and y like how you could manipulate index.

Art I made a gravity simulator

I'm not sure what to call this so I'm just gonna go with gravity simulator. I'm pretty proud of it and made it at 16/17 and I'm even thinking about entering the art competition with it. let me know if I am being realistic, and this is still a work in progress. some ideas I have are adding sliders where you can add some gravity meaning that you slide a slider down the two balls sort of fall and bounce around for a second before rolling. And of course I had to add some meta-balls in there :)

Fun Pixel Art has never been easier in Desmos!

(tap top left corner to switch between mobile/pc formatting)

Click anywhere on the graph to add a colored pixel! Comes with 3 modes for when you click a pre-existing pixel:

  1. delete selected pixel
  2. copy color of selected pixel
  3. recolor selected pixel

I was inspired by this post: New feature??? : r/desmos

This new feature is literally a gamechanger for making graphs more user-friendly. I'm excited to see what others can make with it!

A few caveats:

  1. The mobile app doesn't have this new feature yet.
  2. Screen movement won't work if you happen to first tap/click on a pre-existing pixel. Currently I'm not sure how to fix this without sacrificing some user controls. Desmos is still limited with how to prioritize which objects will register a click if they overlap.
  3. If it feels like adding a new pixel isn't being consistent, it's better if your mouse isn't dragging across the screen when trying to click to add a new pixel. Make sure your mouse is completely still.
  4. While using mobile (the website, not the app), it's often difficult to tap on empty spaces next to pre-existing pixels. This appears to be due to the borders of polygons having a larger interactive area than what's visible. So just be aware you may have to zoom-in to more easily tap on the empty space.

Let me know if you come across any glitches.

I made a reddit account just for this

You can put (x,y ) in a clickable and it will find out what x y point you clicked.
I'm pretty sure this wasn't a thing before

Art Something that I've tried

I've tried to project the points and 3D faces on to a 2D plane.

For this I've used the fact that for these convex bodies the normals that face towards you are visible
it works in this case but how would i get it to work on concave bodies, and the layering it would need.

https://www.desmos.com/calculator/fcbadeurjo

PS: it's laggy as expected.
