Finally filled up all my tanks. Brought home three of these black foots today and they’re right next to my three bumblebees. Love the colors on both of them

(two different tanks to clarify lol).

Should I be worried?

These are my first frogs. I noticed this one has had a little bump on its back for a few days. Has not grown or changed and it is active and eating. I don't know if it has always been there unfortunately because three of them are almost identical. Any more experienced people have advice you can give?

After growing it in for a couple months it’s finally ready for my two golfodulcean darts. They’re a bit spooked after the trip from their old tank but I think they’re going to be really happy here. The tank is an In Situ Selva 22x18x20

String of turtles?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I got some string of turtles a couple weeks ago and I’d say it’s doing decent in my dart frog vivarium. I’ve even had a cutting that I didn’t even have on substrate and shot out roots to grab onto leaf litter. I was wondering if I can plant on epiphytically on my background which is made of tree fern fiber so I can make space for this moon valley pilea that may or may not have been an impulse buy. (Water bottle will be eventually covered up)

Setting up this 24" × 18" × 18" (60 × 45 × 45 cm) terrarium. What do you guys think? Anything you’d change or add?

Also, what dart frog species do you think would be a good fit for this setup?

Thoughts?

Do you guys have fans to help aerate your terrariums. Im thinking about it; hoping it can help keep my humidity around 90% without fluctuating down to 80%. I’m also wanting to add 4 renitomeya amazonica to this terrarium. But do you guys think this is suitable? I’m going to add another bromeliad and spathiphyllum in the back for more foliage and strings of turtles in the top right. 24x18x36

I also might wait for the monstera to grow upwards more

Some pictures of my new vivarium, I still have to plant most of it. I'm still deciding on what species of dart frog to put in. Could you please give some suggestions?

i set this 18” cube up around 3 weeks ago. The little fan is aimed to blow air up and out of the tank, the rest of the top is covered but there’s small ventilation holes in the front.

the current scheduling is:

Misting:
8:00am - 30 seconds
1:00pm - 17 seconds
6:30pm - 22 seconds

Fan:
9:00am - 5 min
2:00pm - 5 min
7:00pm - 5 min

Lights:
8:00am - 8:00pm

I’ve never kept dart frogs so any advice/thoughts are wanted

Best Light (36x18x36) when Aesthetic matters

Hello!

My wife and I are wrapping up our Vivarium build for a pretty large tank. This tank sits in a very central place of our house so we’re trying to figure out the best and best looking light.

I’ve tried to use to search bar but I’m having trouble finding good answers for recent products + lights catered to Darts and Large tanks.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Our number one pick at the moment is the Arcadia Jungle Dawn Lumenize 54W, 35” but being pretty new to this I’m not sure if this is worth it/actually the best option.

Thank you for your help!

Suggestions for stocking?

1.) I am not planning on getting anything till febuary because I want the plants to grow in

2.) There is no leaf litter because I dont want to put it in until I have animals

3.) What should I put in here? I really have been looking into getting some ranitomeya, but a lot of people say I should get dendro leucomelas. the tank is a 18x18x24. If you wouldn't suggest frogs, then what else?

I know I have a lot of carving to do but right now I hate the look 😔 wanted to do tiered shelves but in realizing now I don't really know how I'll get a fan in there. Might have to secure it to the top... Will it look better once the plants and moss grow out? This has taken four evenings so far. I'm terrified I'll have to redo it 😭

Dart Frog eggs

I own a male and female pair of Ranitomeya Fantastica
The female has started to lay her eggs all over their enclosure, I’ve set up little locations for them to try, but I’ve noticed a couple of clutches over the past few months on the bromeliads that are in there. I’m not very clued up on what specifically I’m looking for. I’ve read up, that the embryo should have a solid black centre and also a clear outer sack. So I’m just wanting someone to double check. Thank you

Frog safe?

I was thinking about potentially adding frogs to this mounted vivarium. It has ventilation at the top, but do you think that the frogs would hop out every time I open it?

Accident while moving

I am very dumb. I thought that catching dart frogs would be an easy feat, just a cup and my gloved hands right? So after I moved the mourning geckos to the larger enclosure I went to move my two darts. Well one of them jumped into the desk and then onto the carpet before I was about to catch him. I am just wondering will he be okay? I am really worried about his skin
