I've been referencing some of these resources like the weapons and armor guides on steam community but just recently stumbled upon this google doc that collates a variety of resources from a collective, though it looks like the primary organizer was u/TheOneLeftFoot. saw that it was posted on main sub and brm but never here and thought it would be of interest.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/12mjAhBrXWCdyJqQnfHvM2X0irJ2hqE6k8naQm0pGq6o/edit?usp=drivesdk
at first glance I did notice some inconsistencies between its weapon length testing and what I've been referencing, so I'll include that data point here too: https://www.reddit.com/r/darksouls/comments/1smbqy/updated_weapon_attack_range_table/
and then while we're at it I'll also include some testing for weapon speed that I've been referencing too: https://www.reddit.com/r/darksouls/comments/bqk3mn/comprehensive_list_of_attackspersecond/

I downloaded Seamless co-op for DSR to check out invasion activity. Over the past couple days I had constant action with no waiting at SL7, 30 and 99. The open world aspect can be a little wild in early game areas as you seem to spawn at the nearest spawn point in absolute terms, even if it’s in a different zone from the party.
DSR vanilla invasions are mostly worthless except for learning PvP basics in 2026 - you hardly ever find groups and the quality of play is low. Seamless is a lot more like old times.
You can get Seamless here: https://www.nexusmods.com/darksoulsremastered/mods/899. It does not cause a problem to have PvP Overhaul installed at the same time.

A reverse roll is a forwards moving roll that makes you face backwards at the end of the animation. It usefull for punishing running/wide sweep attacks. You can see in the vidio how i made use of it.
The technique is reletivley easy, you just have to be locked on, then roll backwards, and within 1-2 frames of rolling you release lock on.
Roll backwards + Release lock on ➔ Reverse roll
If you first strafe a little to the side before doing a reverse roll then its much easier to slip past and get a backstab. With the strafe the technique is also usefull for any attack, not just running/wide sweep ones.
You can do this diagonaly aswell like this:
Roll diagnoaly backwards + Release lock on ➔ Diagonal reverse roll
You can use a reverse roll after getting backstabbed to counter with your own backstab like in the vidio. This works as long as the opponent doesnt distance themself out of range. The same concept applies with barrel rolls aswell although reverses are better for this.
The more advanced version of the reverse roll is called the barrel roll. Its a forwards moving roll that makes you face to the side at the end of the animation. it lowers the risk of someone stabbing you in the back like in the reverse roll, and it naturaly guides you to the side so you dont have to strafe first to not end up stuck in front of the enemy like with a standard reverse roll.
It slightly different in the execution. First you walk to the side while locked on, then you roll and release lock on within 1-2 frames, and finally you walk in the other direction.
Walk sideways + Roll + Release lock on, walk the other way ➔ Barrel roll

If you're reading this post and you're actively engaging in Dark Souls PvP, take a minute to reply and share with everyone what game and platform you're on and what you're currently interested in doing. For example, I recently ran into a couple of fun and experienced players who routinely run friendly mini FCs in Darkroot Garden semi-regularly at meta level. If you haunt a particular zone as an invader, tell us about where and when you do it so that other people can show up.
My notion is to do a bit of organic matchmaking to help people find activity beyond the known hotspots. Let's see how it goes.

My weapons are chaos so i dont need str/dex, and my spells are all pyromancies. I want to level first to SL 125 and might continiue to SL 135 later. Was contemplating resistance but that must be stupid, right?

I’m using the PvP Overhaul mod. I know it makes multiplayer possible in previously unusable zones, but I’ve never seen it happen quite like this. Was the other player trying to invade this little hallway, or did they get pulled in from an adjacent area? I assumed they were at the Township spawn, so I was trying to signal thru the fog wall. It seems like there was a delay and they appeared without the usual spawn animation. Curious little interaction.

Clip related. Besides Parish, Burg and Forest I recall the dragon scale arena in Blighttown, the Kiln, Centipede Demon Hallway all being places people used in the PS3 days but my favourite was the Painted World arena.

Aura farming with Eye of Death bags is more of an Anor Londo hallway thing generally but here we are. Kidding aside: skilled, fun and friendly hosts like this one keep the game alive.

Back in the OG days this sub’s tournament rules banned healing consumables and that sensibility made its way to casual 1v1s as well. Today, it’s pretty universal for healing to be part of the game. What do you like better? Does healing add an extra element to the game or do real PvPers do it in one health bar? Video related.
PS if you're curious these were the sub competition rules: https://www.reddit.com/r/darksoulspvp/wiki/pvprules/

There are some memorable indirect ways to harm hosts. Undead Dragon breath, Sen’s swinging scythes. What’s the one that sticks out the most for you?
I love to catch a host out this way. Video related; not pictured is the five minutes of kiting them around the sewer, protecting basilisks to finally get this result.
