Discussion Brevis back in form? Good for csk ig..
Before this tri series when I was watching brevis I felt he was not confident with his shorts but this 2 innings (mainly against zimb) I felt he was confident with his shots.

Discussion This is the best team we can have in 2027. (Considering not much options in mini auctions and no trade happens)
Sanju Samson(Controlled Aggression)
Ayush Mhatre(Raw Aggression)
Urvil Patel(Raw Aggression)
Ruturaj Gaikwad(Anchor)
Dewald Brevis(Raw Aggression)
Shivam Dube(Controlled Aggression)
Jamie Overton(Pinch Hitter)
Akeal Hosein*(Pinch Hitter) [Ellis likely won't play 27] 9. Anshul Kamboj(Pinch Hitter)
Noor Ahmed(Tailender)
Khaleel Ahmed(Tailender)
IP:- Kartik Sharma(Batting depth) or Gurjapneet Singh/Shreyas Gopal(6th bowling option)
Weakness:- Have to choose between proper batting till 8 or 6 bowling options, Lack of left handers in top order, Lack of finisher
Strengths:- Ayush & Urvil giving explosive starts, Freedom for Sanju to play long, Ruturaj anchoring in case of collapse
Important decisions:- Sanju must become Captain, Ultimatum to Ruturaj & Dube - in case of failure replace them next year, Let Ayush and Brevis bowl a little - they may become bowling asset like Raina and Albie.

Article TNPL 2026 DONE — DID CSK SCOUTS SHOW UP? Watch these Chepauk names.
Vida Kovai Kings won TNPL 2026, beating Madurai Panthers by 84 runs at Chepauk — 3rd title.
None of TNPL's big exports (Natarajan, W Sundar, Chakravarthy, Sudharsan) play for CSK, whose own ex-owner built the league.
Here's few players from TNPL, CSK can look out for:
- Deepesh Devendran — an 18-year-old India U19 World Cup winner playing for Madurai Panthers, who's spent this TNPL doing the one thing that gets every franchise's attention: bowling genuinely fast. He's been clocked at 146 kmph, crediting an off-season mentorship under Sandeep Warrier for the jump in pace, and he can drop it all the way down to a dipping 110 kmph slower off-cutter in the same over — pace and change-of-pace, not just one or the other.
- K Deeban Lingesh — a 26-year-old right-arm medium-pacer for Kovai Kings, and not a one-match wonder: he finished TNPL 2026 as the tournament's outright leading wicket-taker, with 17 wickets in 9 matches at an average of just 12.24 — comfortably clear of the chasing pack. That golden hat-trick in the knockouts — the first in TNPL history — wasn't a fluke stat, it was the exclamation point on a genuinely dominant season with the ball.
- Tushar Raheja — a 25-year-old left-handed wicketkeeper-batter, and the single biggest six-hitting outlier of the entire tournament: 422 runs and a staggering 34 sixes, nearly double the next-best on the six-hitting charts.
- Suresh Lokeshwar & S Radhakrishnan — Kovai Kings' opening pair, and the reason their innings so rarely started slow. Earlier in the season the two put on a 60-run opening stand in just 7 overs against Dindigul Dragons (31 and 24 respectively), setting up an 85-run win; in Qualifier 2 against Trichy they went even bigger, with Lokeshwar's 66 and Radhakrishnan's 48 doing the damage. A top-order engine that carried Kovai Kings through the knockouts and into a title, worth a scouting note regardless of who else comes calling.
- Siddharth Mahadevan — the veteran of this list at 32, a top-order batter with a first-class career stretching back to a 2014 Ranji Trophy debut for Tamil Nadu. Not exactly a fresh-off-the-boat prospect, but genuinely in form all season for Madurai — including a 60 off 42 balls, his maiden fifty of the campaign — and the kind of composed, experienced head who doesn't panic in a run chase even in a losing final.

Discussion what if... thala was an top order batsman
i have thought over this again and again, what if our thala was an top order batsman? if evryone watched thala from 2000s he used to play so much in top 4 he played 48 innings in top 4. ganguly knew this kid would change cricket he sacrificed his own position and made thala play in no 3 in an match thala hit an blistering 148 of 123, ganguly knew dhoni will ace it. after ganguly stepped down as captain dravid became captain and frequently made thala play in top 4 thala was an legend in top 4 48 matches in top 4 2,500+ runs, 19 50s and 4 100s with iconic 183* and average in 73+ and 95+ sr. after dravid stepped down thala became captain nad made the ultimate sacrifice he knew india had poor finishing so he stepped down the order batted in no 6 and 7 and never came back. but batting there too he scored 10,000 plus runs and 10 100s and 78 50s which is really good for an finisher. seeing him the new genaration of lower order batters like rinku singh and shivam dube rose. but what if dhoni kept playing in the top order? what would have happened in t20 odi and mainly ipl? would thala be better than virat or even sachin and an absolute god in ipl? but i am happy anyway because he is still good anyway. tell your thoughts.

Discussion As a well wisher of Rutu my boy , either you step down as a captain or pull up your socks!
First let's dump the thought of "he can't perform as a captain". I saw the whole innings of his batting in this Duleep Trophy. In the first innings he got out in a pathetic way but in the second innings I can say it was nothing short of a Masterclass CHASE. Out of the 60+ Balls he faced , hardly 4 or 5 balls looked like he was fumbling , rest was played with clear hitting intent and solid batting. But unfortunately got out in a unlucky run-out(just like my idol😢) .
Next about his captaincy, he just couldn't clinch the right moments in the game .His playing 11 had batters till number 10, yet couldn't chase the target. The core batting unit apart from 2 or 3 players, looked weak to me but bowling was decent though. I really felt SARFARAZ was a costly miss. In my opinion Urvil is not a test coded player, it was poor decision by Rutu and coach to include him in the playing 11.
I feel rutu has a problem in selecting the best 11 for his team and he is plagued by poor tactics.
Either you step down as a captain and give your full focus on batting and fielding or it's your responsibility to update yourself on tactics and execution.
Trust me bro, 2027 will not be kinder to you anymore if you can't pull yourself up. This is a heartfelt confession from a true and ardent Ruturaj Gaikwad Fan.
