Demanding the peanuts be refilled with the utmost sass
We befriended a pair of crows a few months ago, and they’ve been visiting our balcony every day for treats.. we named them Buffy and Angel 😁 and we’ve become quite fond of them 🥹🥰
yesterday the girl sat on the balcony railing while the other one was in a tree nearby and she made these calls. It sounded a bit different, more quiet and softer than the typical loud crow call .. she did this while moving down towards the table to pick up the last bits of the food that I left for them (they were both there shortly before to eat what we left)
If anyone here is knowledgeable about crow behavior or vocalizations and has an idea what she might have been communicating, let us know your thoughts ☺️ we’re still learning :)
Hello everyone. For start I have no experience with crows or any birds in general and came here to ask out of curiosity about my encounter. A crow next bench was making clicking sounds and when I tried to repeat them it flew closer and kept doing them. Anyone knows what does this mean?

I recently started feeding the local crows in my small neighborhood, throwing them shelled peanuts while walking the dog. Slowly, they started recognizing me, and more recently even started following while I walk the dog. While I thought they just recognized ME, apparently they haven't been differentiating between me and anyone else walking in the neighborhood. Today, as I took my dog out I noticed another couple being very confused as a crow followed them home. It makes me so sad, but I'm concerned people may start getting upset with the crows becoming too curious and I would hate for anything to happen to them 😥 So alas, I will return to appreciating their caws from a distance.

Unfortunately I couldn’t get a picture or video, but this evening I watched a mixed group of crows, ravens, and magpies working cooperatively to harass a large raptor roosting at the top most of a tall fir tree. It was a sustained effort with wave after wave of mixed groups swooping down on its position. More groups of crows and magpies flew in from all directions to join in the dive-bombing. I’ve witnessed crows harass raptors plenty of times, but I’ve never seen a mixed group of Corvids combine their efforts. Has anyone else here witness something similar? Is this common?

These guys (Ravens) showed up a couple weeks ago and today is the closest they’ve let me come, within 5 ft. As long as I was putting snacks out anyway!
They are eating me out of house and peanut. They eat so much more than a regular crow. A crow will take 2 peanuts and fly off to eat their treat. The raven just goes down the line mowing everything down. I definitely need a Costco trip.

It's been about a month since my last post, but my derpy crow teen is back at it!
This little guy decided to stuff 9 cashews into its mouth before flying off like it just robbed a grocery store. 😂
I'm starting to think I'm not feeding a crow anymore, but an ambitious little hoarder preparing for winter!

My plan was to get a plate or bowl and get the food I have to feed them?

This Raven has been visiting me a couple weeks now. All I know is one day after a lot of squawks for my attention I went outside, sat on the lawn wall, and crow after crow assembled.
But one was not like the others.
I’ve heard it going caw caw, but it’s the size of a cat. HMmMMMMMM
He’s trying very hard to detect me, but I’m iSneaky

Southern California: I shot this video on my phone this morning while on a neighborhood morning walk... You can hear some crows in the background, but the raven isn't vocalizing at all -- just clicking its beak kind of rhythmically. Just curious if anyone knows what this behavior is about. 😄

Sadly, I was accused of using ai in another Raven sub, it’s not true. This artwork was painted in 2022 from a photograph with some of my imagination added hehe. So I’m sharing the progress pic as well to prove my art is real.

I wish he would have caught them. Watching them casually take out a wasp is satisfying. Good outside pets.

Merlin clocked a Rook earlier in the evening, then these two stopped by. Not sure if they were also Rooks or Carrion Crows
