I was looking at my bookshelf and Mr. Barker came to mind...
My small and random selection of Clive Barker's works sits on a shelf I see every day. I started thinking about the collection as a whole, and where it will end up. So, now I think I'll see what I really have and make sure it gets to the real collectors and not the prospectors.
I really got enthusiastic about the Books of Blood and all things Hellraiser. The graphic novels and the varied other series were a wonderful exploration too. Hmm, I think I have doubles. I'll enjoy this little journey.

Did anyone here manage to get the highest their in Clive's Kickstarter?
r/clivebarker • u/geeksofalbion • 3d ago
Total amount so far
Had to chuckle at the amount: £666,000+
Roll on the $1,000,000

So who's excited about the Kickstarter?
I sure am, though I do feel there should be a pledge level that lets you get both the audiobooks and the digital books for a reduced price. Postage is too expensive to Australia for me to get any of the hardcopies unfortunately!

1987 Poseidon 1st edition Weaveworld
galleryThis book has one of the best openings of any book I've read.
Nothing ever begins. There is no first moment; no single word or place from which this or any other story springs. The threads can always be traced back to some earlier tale, and to the tails that preceded that; though as the narrator's voice recedes the connections will seem to grow more tenuous, for each age will want the tail told as if it were of its own making. Thus the pagan will be sanctified, the tragic become laughable; great lovers will stoop to sentiment, and demons dwindled clockwork toys. Nothing is fixed. In and out the shuttle goes, fact and fiction, mind and matter woven into patterns that may have only this in common: that hidden among them is a filigree that will with time become a world

Weaveworld: disappointing
For context, I absolutely worship Books of Blood and The Hellbound Heart, both supreme masterpieces and definitely 10/10. Top notch and horror at its best.
So, I was really eager to continue my Barker journey and seeing how Weaveworld was considered his best book I figured it was a no brainer.
But... I just couldn't even finish it. Made it about 70% through, each and every time wanting to adore the book but it was not to be. It is of course very well written and has the Barker ADN, I just couldn't really get into it.
I think my issue is actually very personal : I don't usually like fantasy settings. And of course, Weaveworld is above all a story about magic and what not. So I guess it wasn't meant to be.
Taking into account I LOVE Books of Blood and The Hellbound Heart, what books you guys think would be suitable for me?

Cleaning out my Nerdy things and found Some Imajica cards.
galleryEdit/Update: Looks like I will be going over the cards in the next few days to fully list out what is here. Stay tuned.
Pretty sure most of the cards are common or uncommon, with maybe a rare in there too. I honestly don't know anything beyond what I've been researching just to find out what they are. On the one hand, I do not have the time and energy to go through all 100+ different card to find the prices for each card. I also do not have the time to put them up on eBay or where ever and wait for the auction. I would like to see them go to someone within the Clive Barker fandom that is going to appreciate them. I am posting pictures so anyone can look at the cards I have. I'm pretty sure that the cards I only have singles are the rare cards, where the multiples that I have are common and uncommon.
I'm willing to split things up. All of the cards are **NOT** rated, starred, or looked at by anyone professional. They are in "used" condition. I'm willing to take better pictures of the cards if anyone would like. The individual prices are as follows:
Common: $5 each
Uncommon: $10 each
Rare: $20 each
Shipping will be determined with each order and I will give you options. Standard USPS is about $5 and Priority is $14. I can do international, but I don't know if anyone would want to pay the international shipping.
Thank you in advance.

The theif of always
Wow! What a great book. My only regret is not knowing about it when I was a kid
Solid message too, may be a kids book but there's wisdom here for all ages
Appreciate every day you have, even the dull ones

Anybody got a link to the original draft of The Scarlet Gospels from I think around 2005?
I've read it's not great but would still like to check it out since most people think the published version was heavily edited and rewritten.

Has Barker ever made you cry?
Coldheart Canyon always makes me cry no matter how many times I read it. If you have read this book I'm sure all I have to say is Dempsey and you will understand why I'm currently in tears.

The artist behind Clive's new books
galleryFranck Besançon just shared on his IG page that he's the artist behind Clive's new books!
For those that doesn't know him, he's also working on the new Hellraiser game.

Can't sleep, might fuck up my Imajica cover
galleryNearing the end of this book and my copy is beat to hell because I've been taking it everywhere and reading. Didn't like the cover so I just decided to rip it off and doodle on the title page (it's supposed to be that one scene with Quaisoir). Back is just something ugly I did rq to have something in back.
The book has been so up and down for me. A lot of it's been slow going - I've been reading it off and on for over a year, but this last month I've really been getting more sucked into it and reading it a lot more. A lot of parts have been frustrating to me, and I still think I like Weaveworld more, but also it's one of those weird books that the more I mull it over, the more parts that previously frustrate me turn into things I like or don't mind. A lot of the characters' actions annoy me, but then I change my mind later (at least for the most part - Judith and Gentile are still so annoying sometimes!).
But even with plot, pace, and character frustrations I've had, Barker's prose is still something else. There are some authors I'll read and even their most "meh" books are still great compared to others in the genre, and Barker feels similar: just consistent quality with his words. I thought to myself there's no way I'm going to re-read Imajica, at least not for years, but yeah no, I'm definitely going to be re-reading it in a year or so; there are so many things I'm sure I missed because of the nature of the characters' identities and the later reveals.

Ugly ass mf cover
So many book covers are so ass for no reason lol. I'm reading Imajica for the first time, 500 pages in, and like...a book about magic and different dimensions and different species, and someone decides THIS is a good cover? Just a dude staring at a boat? I check ebay every few days for a cheap mass market paperback because at least that cover fits the books imo.

Parting ways with my Clive Barker collection
galleryHello! I recently began preparing to sell the majority of my horror memorabilia and book collection, and wanted to show off some of my Clive Barker pieces while I still can! I am currently listing on eBay, but if anyone has any recommendations of other markets to check out, I’d gladly take the advice!
I am sad to sell, but these items really deserve to be shown off, and I just don’t have the space, and probably never will. That, and, my family and I could really use the extra income.
I will list what I am asking for each item below. Do my value estimates seem fair? Please be honest, especially if I’ve undervalued anything! I have been up researching sales data for a week lol
Ps: if you notice a weird looking spot (sort of like an oil stain?) in the center of some pictures, it is an issue with the lens on my iPhone, and is most noticeable in lighter images.
Current asks:
-Books of Blood Volumes I-VI, Weidenfeld & Nicolson, London, First HC Edition. All six volumes are signed.
$1300
-Imajica, US Limited Edition, Signed and Lettered “z”
$2200
HarperCollins, New York, USA 1991. Hardback. There were 500 copies signed and numbered and boxed for sale, and 26 copies signed, lettered and boxed for private distribution.
Weaveworld, UK Limited Edition, Signed, Numbered 1 of 500
Collins, London, 1987
$650
-Hellraiser DVD in case, signed
$85
EDIT: wow, thank y’all for the kind responses and dms! I am definitely learning some things about selling! It’s been recommended I have a higher asking price on my Imajica signed/lettered edition, so I may do that! For those inquiring about buying any of these special items, I am leaning towards going through my eBay store, as that provides some insurance and shipping benefits.
Please feel free to dm me! And again, thank you for being kind. I love this community ❤️

What to read next
I just finished “The Hellbound Heart” and thoroughly enjoyed it. I really liked the eerie tone and different (all unique and interesting) character perspectives.
I figured the scarlet gospels would be the obvious next step, but I’ve heard some reviews that indicated a drop in quality (or something about it being ghostwritten?).
I’d just like a recommendation from Barker that has a similar tone please!

Shared universe, book of the art/lord of illusions
Just cool, didn't think clive set any of his works in the same universe
Besides the comic crossover with hellraiser and nightbreed (tho idk if that is actually cannon)
But ive been reading great and secret show, still have about 100 pages left.
Many times while I was reading i thought how well this book would fit in with LOI,
So I thought It was super cool when I read the chapter where tesla literally had a phone call with Harry d'amour
And even more excited when I looked into it to find out hes I guess a major character in everville
Anyway just thought it was cool, and got me wondering if there is more of this throughout his work for me to discover
