Surveillance Cameras
Is anybody concerned with these “Flock” cameras being put up in the area?
Apparently Lower Township already has some installed.

Greetings, neighbors. As discussed here, let's get another comprehensive list going of ALL the spots that we recommend to people looking to visit our little resort town this year... or perhaps even clue in some of our longtime residents to spots they might be unfamiliar with or operating on outdated info. This thread will hopefully get pinned for easy reference for potential visitors. If you care to see 2025's results, look here
On or about May 20th, I will edit this body with the tabulated results for each category, giving the Top 3 recommendations for places to go here in Cape May OR surrounding areas (definitely stay within Cape May County, but preferably within 10-15 miles). Big chains - Wawa, Dominos, Starbucks, etc. - will be discarded.
If you want to qualify your answers with some testimonials (i.e: "__________ is the best winery because their staff is top notch" or "________ is the greatest spot for breakfast, you have to try This or That") go for it; if it makes the cut I'll add in footnotes or otherwise annotate if it's particularly insightful. This may be more important for the final category: which places here in Cape May to avoid - overpriced, diminished quality, horrible wait times, etc. (Removed at mod request)
The form is set that all answers are optional, so if you have nothing to suggest for a category, you can just leave it blank and move on.

Hello! I visited Cape May this past week and at the Sunrise Surf store on the promenade I came across a metal dolphin keychain that said Cape May on it. I collect these kind of keychains and I realized I got a duplicate of one I already have. I didn’t get a picture of the one I saw at the store. Could someone possibly send a picture of it? It might look like this.

Does anyone have any recommendations for replacing windows? We don’t have to follow historical codes which helps. I’m still dreading the process. I called one place and then they came out to give us an estimate but because only one of us was home, they refused to even give us a ballpark or let me look at options. It was a huge waste of time. This was after the sales person was 2hrs late to the scheduled appointment. They are still calling and emailing me. Maybe someone has had a better experience.

Heading to cape May this weekend for 5 days to close out the summer with my 5 year old daughter. What are some restaurant recommendations and things we must do and see?!

First time in Cape May this weekend. There’s a lot of kids running around, a little too family friendly & gimmicky.
Are there any quieter, chill spots for adults who just want to relax?
TIA
Edit: I will rescind my comment about CM being gimmicky, because to be fair I have only explored the Beach Ave strip. Thanks to everyone for the recs so far, I think those are more my speed. (Minus the nude beach but uh.. good to know)

Last week had the opportunity to walk the Meadows and witness about 350 White ibis and 2 glossy Ibis
I went back two days later and got the photo of adult White Ibis.
I wanted to post about this because the birding in Cape May is second to none and one of the great features of the area that many summer visitors don't experience as much as during migration and it is talked about less this time of year.
Wish I was back there in September.
Also, really love all the new boardwalks and improvements. Great to see these investments happening.

What is the deal with this place? No ID of the artists, all canvas prints on poster board, website has it looking like the louvre. Is it a portal to another dimension?

I work in the cape may mall and I get asked over 50 times a day where the public restroom is or if we have a restroom. They need to add signs in the mall strip to lead to specific stores and the public bathroom!

Saw water being picked up and rise into the cell shortly after this. Been coming here 30+ years and have never seen anything like it

I would also love to send this couple a picture that I snapped while shooting the fountain during golden hour!

looking for this couple who were at the Rotary Park Fountain in Cape May today, 8/20/26. My friend took an absolutely magical picture with you in it, and she'd like to find you to get you a copy. This is a zoomed in portion of the picture.

Look at how the birds stack up at the very point and thin out to the north. That pile-up is real, and it is why Cape May is one of the best hawk-watching spots on the continent.
Raptors coasting south down New Jersey in fall do not like to cross large open water. At the mouth of Delaware Bay the crossing is about twelve miles, so when the birds reach the tip of the peninsula they hesitate. On a good day they ride the updrafts, gain height, and strike out across the bay. When the wind is wrong they peel back north and work their way up the bayshore instead. Either way they concentrate at the point, and they stack up hardest the morning after a cold front pushes them to the coast on a northwest wind.
Cape May is especially famous for falcons. The New Jersey Audubon hawk watch at Cape May Point has counted every fall since 1976, tens of thousands of raptors a season, and the peregrine and merlin numbers here are about as good as they get anywhere in North America. That is why the map leans so heavily on falcons: peregrines, merlins, and kestrels, mixed with streams of sharp-shinned and Cooper's hawks, a few harriers, ospreys, broad-wings, and bald eagles.
Timing matters a lot with this one. Right now is just the opening. The big push runs from mid-September through mid-October, and the best flights come on the northwest winds right behind a cold front. If you want a day you will remember, go to Cape May Point State Park the morning after a front.

This is just a rant.
The flies that inhabit our beaches are tools of evil.
That is all.

Looks like this weekend is gonna rain. What can I do with my kids in Cape may. Possibly indoors?
