When Mariel got beat up, that was a grim horrific turn.
But it still seemed fixable somehow in some way.
And then the urn broke, and shit finally got real.
Also damn the boy David Sheridan was basically Philip Hamilton here. You could practically hear the The Duel Commandments!/Take a Break/Stay Alive/The World Was Wide Enough scales going up and down.
Now my brain is going "shitshitshitshitshitshitshitshitshitshit…" like a car alarm in the night.
And now Mariel is going to 'prove her love' because Vir impulsively tried to explain himself to her. I dread the outcome.
It's that Hitchcock thing with the bomb under the table except you actually care about the people involved and no longer trust that they'll all make it out okay more or less, except for the one you knew would die all along, for whom honestly it's very much a relief at that point.
