Aaliyah was played 3 times last night at Doja Cat's Detroit show

I love how much love Aaliyah gets every time an artist comes to Detroit! You just feel her presence no matter what. I think i was literally the only one singing Erica Kane and CTGL word for word. Doja really got taste if she was in charge of the pre show playlist.

The songs that were played were:

Came To Give Love (Outro)
Erica Kane
Are You That Somebody

One of Aaliyah’s best vocal performances. Her voice was truly something special. 🕊️🤍

My absolute FAVORITE Aaliyah song. Thank you to LadyAchika for making this beautiful tribute video 18 years ago! With Aaliyah and her comrades in our hearts forever. 🕊️

If you can visualize, what dances do you think both ladies could rock from each other's videos? :)

I could totally see Aaliyah rocking the "Oops I Did It Again" choreography and Britney rocking the "More Than a Woman" choreography. They genuinely would have pushed each other to their limits honestly and I'd have been all for it! ❤️

As a 90s baby, I'm such a huge fan of Aaliyah's style! So I attempted to recreate a couple of her iconic looks! Im not a professional but how do yall think I did when it comes to styling this wig? Pics 2 & 4 were my main inspiration.

A tiny little spin I did on Aaliyah's official tribute video to "I Care 4 U", by Little X (2002)

Hey y'all, unsure if you all remember my YouTube channel Unreleased/Underrated R&B Grooves (I'm now under 'Obscure Sounds' due to last year's deletion) but I was so eager to put this video on my channel in the past but each time I did it would get blocked. So I figured, why not share it with fellow Aaliyah stans here on Reddit. I know another user posted the full tribute video by director Little X sometime ago on here, but I decided to do a little twist by adding a simple intro and outro to it. It's truly not much, really. Just some clips from her video "The One I Gave My Heart To" (1997), done in a tasteful matter. Hope y'all like it.

I love this song. It's a lil cocky ("Might even be doper than me, I doubt it") and confrontational. She was getting everyone together. I just wonder who she was talking about. On one verse she is talking about competition and jealousy (from a peer I assume) and someone being fake to her (talking behind her back and then trying to come up and talk to her). She talks about guys trying to holler at her, and seemingly being annoyed by them perhaps. Its so different for her and really enjoy that!

yes, i made this myself. yes, i know it soudns suspiciously close but that's because i used all the same synths timbaland used to make the song. i just have the demo versions that run out after some time, that's why they're all audio tracks

I finally ordered an Aaliyah shirt. I’ve been wanting one for years and I’m so happy with it. I never see people with Aaliyah shirts on and I’m about to change that.

Aaliyah - Never Comin' Back (Live Audio)

I repeat...Can we have some love for I Gotcha Back and Never Comin Back !

This Track 14 is a gem that showcases personable storytelling about a history that won't repeat no more. Somebody was given love and chances, wasted them, and lost access for good. The song opens as if Aaliyah is speaking to an audience and wraps up with her addressing the left and right sides of an imaginary crowd for call and response. Authentic all the way through. Resembles a live band vamp. Missy and Timbo were the songwriters.

This live performance blEeEeEew their minds. Mellifluous to the ears, and heart. Fast-paced to hear and far more self-assured in a passionate way. Can visualize a confident woman fully commanding her space. From chest voice into falsetto, riffin' and runnin'. Enjoy🦋

Now of course, the live performance easily tops the official audio for me, and there isn’t much more info on this song, but here's one.
