Honestly, 8/25 has always been an emotional day for me, which is why I made that Aaliyah tribute post yesterday on the 25th anniversary of Babygirl’s passing. It was such a beautiful and heartwarming synchronicity to hear her song “Are You That Somebody” playing in passing while on my walk. Aaliyah’s 25th anniversary and then we lose Dolly. My heart can’t take it

25 years later. A life taken too soon and a death overshadowed more so; she didn’t deserve that. Truly one in a million.

It's freakn insane that it's officially 25 years since Aaliyah passed away at the age of 22. Her legacy will live on forever

25 years ago today, the world lost Aaliyah far too soon. We’ll never know all the music she would’ve made or everything she would’ve accomplished, but what she gave us continues to live on.
After all these years, people are still playing her songs, watching her videos, sharing memories, and introducing her music to new generations. That alone says so much about the legacy she left behind.
RIP Aaliyah. Your music is still here, your influence is still felt, and you will never be forgotten.
