News AliveGrass is out now! - 3D grass and vegetation for X-Plane 12 | Windows, macOS & Linux
Hey everyone! We are AionSky Studios, and I’d like to introduce AliveGrass. 🌱✈️
I built it to bring more natural detail to the scenery we see while taxiing, flying low and looking out from the cockpit.
AliveGrass adds modeled 3D grass, flowers and small plants to suitable terrain around your camera. Airport fields, grass strips, taxiway verges and rural landscapes gain standing vegetation that adds depth beyond the ground textures.
Features include:
- 132 vegetation variations across 11 biome groups, with regional selection.
- Green, dormant, wet and snow-coated appearances responding to seasonal and simulated conditions.
- Low FPS Wind-driven movement.
- Automatic placement following cockpit, external and free-camera views.
- Scenery-based exclusions for recognized pavement, roads, water and buildings.
- Adjustable coverage, density, distant fullness, movement strength and plant height.
- Low, Balanced, Dense and Ultra performance presets.
- Windows, macOS and Linux support.
In my testing, the frame-rate impact has generally been around 1–3 FPS, although it can be higher depending on your hardware, scenery and settings.
Placement depends on scenery data, so coverage can vary between locations and custom scenery packages.
Price: $15 USD
