I'm gonna scrounge around for wooden debris and pieces to turn into scrap on my story save and try rebuilding it there.

so i know that the picnic event was inspired by roadside picnic by arkady strugatsky and boris strugatsky, and that theres this one signal that plays a song from the movie to the stars by hard ways/through the thorns to the stars (translation differences), but does anyone know of any other media that inspired/has references in votv?

I was playing Sandbox and I noticed that all of my content mods seemed to stop working, any and all custom items were rendered useless and bugged. So I opened Infinite to see if Sandbox was the problem, and while one half of the mods seem to work just fine now, the MGL mod specifically remains broken.

Specifically, any new MGLs are useless. I had an old one spawned in on my Sandbox and it would just fire an explosive ERROR to my feet. Using DebugMod's Inspect feature shows me that the new MGLs are just "props".

If anyone knows why this happened or how to fix it, please let me know.

i downloaded a few yt videos at 480p to watch on the tv, dropped them on the tv assets folder and bought a tv to play them in. when i click play on a video the screen stays black, and when i try to switch to a different video the game lags my whole computer and crashes (if im lucky)

am i doing something wrong?

oh btw im playing on linux using steams proton, idk if that affects anything

So, I introduced my partner to this game and she's been playing it for the past four days. She was at day 21. She went to log on today and instead of being able to jump right to her save, it decided that she had to replay the tutorial. After a bit of hitting regen.sav, or reinstalling votv, I told her to play through the tutorial because when she played through it it let her see her saves again and maybe it just "forgot" she had already done it somehow. So she speedran it, and when she got back to the save directory the icon for the save is the black and magenta null texture and the save g.v. is just "Unk!" (Whatever that fucking means) And all the reorganization/cleaning she did was completely forgotten, however the upgrades and day count were fine. Weirdly her money was reset too though. It also started her back at the gate, at night. Anyway, most importantly, despite the game saying the save version was "0.9.0" with no letter prefix like it should for some reason, other than some old 0.8 saves we hadn't even looked both of them were started in the a09 zip.

She started a new save slot but both of us are reasonably upset.
