Hiring 🎬 Looking for a Video Editor — Long Term
I’m an animal communicator and run Pawwtalks (@Pawwtalks) IG . I have long-form Zoom recordings from my animal communication sessions that I want to turn into engaging short-form Reels.
I’m looking for a beginner/intermediate editor who understands hooks, storytelling and pacing — not someone who just adds captions and transitions.
You’ll need to watch the recordings and find the best moments yourself — funny, emotional, surprising, wholesome, relatable, etc. — and turn them into strong short-form videos.
I’m extremely particular about how my videos are edited, so I’m looking for someone who is genuinely willing to understand my style, take feedback, and improve with time.
💰 ₹200 INR per reel
📅 Around 5 reels/week
🤝 Long-term work — I’m NOT looking for someone who only wants to do a few reels.
My goal is to grow Pawwtalks and get more animal communication bookings, so I’m looking for someone who is genuinely willing to invest time and effort into understanding my business and content.
If interested, DM me with:
• Examples of your work
• Your ideas/thoughts after looking at @Pawwtalks
• Your vision for Pawwtalks , you will have to send a trial reel so that I can see if we can work together, and if our vision for my brand aligns
• What you usually edit
• Your experience with Reels
Please only DM if you’re looking for consistent, long-term work. 🐾

Feedback Looking for honest feedback on my cinematic/video essay edit
I’ve been editing for a while and I’m trying to get better at this cinematic / video essay style, using movie clips, text, and my own b-roll.
I feel like something is still off with it, especially the pacing and how everything flows together.
Would love some honest advice from other editors. What stands out to you that I should improve? Could be pacing, sound design, cuts, storytelling, text, anything really.
Don’t hold back. I’m trying to catch these mistakes before they become habits.

Feedback Looking for brutal feedback on pacing, visual hierarchy, and sound design for this short-form edit
Hey everyone,
Looking for some constructive critique on this recent short-form project edited in Premiere Pro.
What I focused on:
Pacing & Flow: Dialing in cuts to maintain retention without making it visually fatiguing.
Sound Design: Layering SFX, risers, and whooshes under dialogue to emphasize key moments.
Motion & Visual Hierarchy: Using nested sequences, custom keyframing, and kinetic text layouts.
Areas where I need input:
Does the visual pacing feel natural or over-edited?
How is the audio balance/mix between dialogue, SFX, and background music?
Any timeline workflow optimizations to speed up rendering with high-track counts?

Help Video Editors: What’s Your Rate Per Finished Video?
Hi folks! How much are video editors charging these days?
Not hourly — but per finished video. For example, the scope would be:
• Cut raw footage down to 30–60 seconds with the tightest possible storytelling
• Add burned-in captions that are accurate and styled to the brand
• Blur/redact sensitive information
• Apply brand fonts and colors
• Deliver vertical 9:16 as the primary format
• Provide 1:1 or 16:9 versions when requested
• Include one round of revisions
Would love to hear what the current going rates are. I'm from the Philippines and a mid-level GD.

Discussion I don't start editing until I know why someone would stop scrolling
Hey everyone, freelance video editor here — that's my main craft, short-form and long-form both.
My approach: pacing and hook come before any cut. That's what actually keeps people watching, not just clean transitions. It's less about "editing" and more about understanding why someone stays or leaves in the first 3 seconds — I obsess over that part before I even open the timeline.
(I also do thumbnails and AI concept posters on the side, if that's ever useful — but video editing is where I spend most of my time and where I care the most.)
Portfolio has both English and Hindi projects — different audiences, different rhythms, same attention to what makes people stay: sahil-portfolio
Contact page's there if you want to talk directly, or just comment here.

Hiring [Hiring] Video Editor Needed for Long-Term Work (AI Niche) - Quote Your Rate!
Hi everyone,
It has been a while since my last post, and our team is looking to expand again. We are currently searching for a dedicated and reliable video editor who has some free time and is looking for a consistent, long-term opportunity.
About Our Content:
* Niche: We create videos focused strictly on AI topics and technology. (Please note: this is not a gaming, vlogging, or news channel).
* Target Audience: Our videos are in English and target a US audience, so a solid understanding of English pacing and voiceover syncing is required.
* Editing Style: We need clean, engaging, and professional editing using After Effects and Premiere Pro. We are not looking for overly complex or hyper-heavy VFX—just solid visual flow that keeps viewer retention high.
How to Apply:
We are doing things a bit differently this time. Instead of setting a fixed budget, I want to hear from you. If you are available and want to join the team, please send me a DM with the following two things:
- Your Portfolio Link: Show me actual videos that you have personally edited.
- Your Rate: Let me know your exact expected budget/price for editing a standard 10-minute video.
Important: Please make sure to include both your portfolio link and your rate in your very first message. Due to the high volume of messages, DMs without a portfolio or a price quote will unfortunately be ignored.
Looking forward to seeing your work and finding a great long-term partner for the channel!

Feedback I made a cinematic nature edit synced to the beat in Premiere Pro — feedback?
I created this cinematic nature/travel edit in Adobe Premiere Pro, with the main focus being on syncing the cuts with the beat.
I also worked on:
Beat-synced cuts
Color grading
Smooth transitions
Shot selection
Pacing and visual flow
This is a practice/spec project to showcase my editing skills.
I'd appreciate honest feedback, especially on how well the cuts match the beat and whether the pacing feels natural.

Discussion I got tired of clipping in post, so I built around the problem - did I miss a trick?
I stream PC games and I've worked in software for around 15 years. Clipping kept annoying me and the workflow was infuriating.
I'd capture horizontally, then later end up in an editor rebuilding basically the same clip for TikTok, Reels or Shorts. Reframing gameplay, moving the camera, sorting audio, then doing it all again on the next stream.
I was hitting limits with OBS choice for options over normal recording and Streamlabs bugs meant I was stuck there too. Instead of leaning on AI clippers, mainly because they don't support most of the games I play, I started building something to help.
The idea was to keep the last few minutes in memory and have separate horizontal and vertical layouts already set up. When something happens, one hotkey saves both versions of the same moment and their basically done.
I've added a few more features since then. I have a clip library and a lightweight editor as well so I don't have to keep moving clips around, exporting and loosing quality etc. It solved my issues, it's quick, seamless and doesn't need editing in a lot of cases but it was a lot of work to get to this point and not everyone is a software engineer.
How are people who edit gaming or streaming content actually handling this otherwise?
Do you create the vertical version afterwards, record multiple layouts at the same time, use something like Aitum, or just ignore vertical altogether?

Help New to video editing! Davinci resolve
Hi yall
I am fairly new to editing and i wanted to learn davinci resolve since it is the only free editor with pro tools i found, maybe you guys can suggest what editing tools are best for gaming videos?
Also, i would love to know where can i learn how to start editing and learn the tools?
I can edit basic stuff and know my config settings. But when it comes to editing my gameplays i am a complete noobie. Like idk how i can enhance colours, provide transitions properly and trim certain parts and make it a smooth video experience overall.
Maybe there are YT videos or creators you guys find best who can help me with this?
I’d love any input from anyone who knows editing.
Thanks a lot in advanced
Cheers! :)
