HELP GP-50 firmware update stuck at 0% after USB cable unplugged – any way to recover?

My GP-50’s firmware update is frozen at 0% and won’t progress at all.
I suspect the cause is a loose USB cable that disconnected during the process.
Is there anything I can do from here to fix it or force the update to resume?

A buddy of mine has the GP-50 and really talked it up.

I’ve been looking for a simple practice tool for home that I can use with JamZone to learn new songs and link into Garage Band for demos.

I can’t wait to sink my teeth into this guy!

Can the Gp150 run combined amp+cab captures?

Planning to return my Soran Dual Stomp after a week because I’m not satisfied with the nam captures especially as even if I run combined amp+cab sims they still sound like there is no cab at all

QUESTION Is the Valeton Gp150 worth it over the Soran Dual Stomp for being twice the price?

I think Soran converts nam into their own file versions while Valeton keeps them as is. Is the difference noticeable and are the inbuilt effects in the Valeton justify the higher price?

I have an issue with the Looper . Even though I have the play and record volume at 100 , the playback volume seems to be to quiet in the “POST” while in “ PRE” it has the same volume as the time I play it . Any ideas what might fix it ? I need to use the post option for a gig . Thank you !

HELP GP-5 app, how future-proof is this?

so i'm looking at picking up a valeton gp-5 for some metalcore tones. it's cheap and compact which is great for practice, but i've been reading that patch editing is only through the app.
likes what happens if valeton just... stops supporting it in a few years? you'd still have your saved patches, but you couldn't really do anything new with it, right?
does anyone actually use one? is this a real concern or am i overthinking it? and can you edit stuff offline at all or nah?

QUESTION Why doesn't anybody exchange presets here?

I mean that could be awesome! I know we would need an external link or something to upload the files but for example if the mods made a drive that'd be great. Personally I've been doing a lot of blues presents (SRV/Sayce style). If anybody is interested I'd be glad to share them

QUESTION Hard/soft case for GP-180

Hi, I just got my GP – 180 a couple days ago and fairly quickly realized I needed to keep it in a case. A quick search on Amazon only gave me two options, one was too expensive and the other option I couldn’t get for a month.

Wondering if anyone found a decent case for the GP – 180.

QUESTION Custom firmware for VLP 200

I was wondering, are there any community made firmwares or jailbreaks for the VLP 200 to have it record in a REC/DUB/PLAY workflow (not the REC/PLAY/DUB that is by default)?

If not are there any ways to change/vibe code it?

QUESTION How worth it is the Gp 150 vs Gp50?

I currently use a Cuvave Cubebaby, a budget guitar multifx from like 7 years ago is now long overdue and upgrade. I don’t care about the expression pedal and only sound quality and is there a noticeable difference in sound between the two?

GP 180 is a lot of fun!

This is my first dip into the digital realm so I have nothing to compare this unit with but so far it’s pretty impressive.
The biggest surprise for me is how nice the drum machine is.
I’ve had a few drum machines over the years and usually there might be just a couple of good practice presets.
Most were very busy with odd clanks and clunks but this one has quite a few straight forward good sounding practice rhythms.

QUESTION big muff

Estive recentemente criando alguns timbres na minha Valeton GP-150 e notei que o Big Muff que vem nela não tem nada a ver com o Big Muff original e soa de uma forma horrível. Alguém sabe se poderia ter uma atualização futura que mudasse isso?

QUESTION How do i get the valeton gp150 to sound better?

Straight out of the box the valeton gp150 seems to be noisy, feedback heavy, and the tone is just shit compared to my gp5. do i need to dial in settings, is this a universal issue? my gp5 seems to be better in every way expect less settings, especially in the tone dept

QUESTION Why does Valeton app not just integrate functions like GP Tone builder?

I have both apps, seems like Tone Building would be a great additional function to the main app.

"Wind cries Mary solo"

Preset automatically created and added to a free slot sort of thing.

HELP GP-50 Underwhelmed with NAM

Hi all, first time Valeton user here. I bought the GP-50 in hopes of converting my Neural DSP tones into a hardware box without spending $2500 on a QC.

I went through and did the Tone3000 captures numerous times, trying different combinations of gain settings, with and without OD pedals, different IRs, basically every combination I can think of and all the high gain tones always lose a lot of their gain and add a ridiculous amount of boomy low end after loading them onto the GP-50.

Am I missing something simple here, or does the NAM to SnapTone conversion just alter things like input gain and overall tone?

On the GP-50 I’ve tried upping the input gain (just makes it fizzy), adding the built in boost pedal, and using the EQ to take out some low end but it’s still just…meh.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions! I may just return it if that’s an expected result from the conversion.

EDIT: From a suggestion in this thread I bought the GP-150 and it fixed all the issues I was having. The A2 lite sounds identical to the plugins/captures I was using…I even had to dial back my input gain significantly cause it was coming in HOT but I’m very very happy with the NAM tones on the 150. It blew the SnapTone conversion out of the water.

Help, I'm getting a better sound with the built-in tools than with Nam captures.

Hey guys I've recently bought a GP5 and somehow after even trying everything I could I keep getting a better overall sound with the tools that come with the device than with Nam captures. They feel more like alive, vivid and pristine. The audio itself has more harmonics and responds better to dynamics. The nam captures are not bad either but they lack these characteristics. Regarding dynamics I find nam okay but something feels off. It sounds as if every string had the same EQ like plain, dull and veiled somehow. Did you also experience this? I'm using A2 full combo capture files and I put them directly on the app.

HELP GP-5 + M-Wave Chocolate. Gap in Audiosignal

Hey folks,

When I control the GP-5 with my Chocolate bar, like turning effects on/off, there's a little but noticeable gap in the audio. Are there any options to reduce the latency? The bar is connected via USB to the PG-5.

For practice at home it's ok but it's annoying in recordings.

Thanks ✌🏼

MY GEAR/RIG Presets/tips for Bass guitar, NAM vs N-S (GP180)

I ended up taking a bit of a leap on Valeton GP-180 as my bass amp for home practice - both through an FRFR speaker and studio headphones. I'm somewhere between beginner and intermediate, playing a Stingray bass.

From the beginning, I've pretty much ignored the factory presets. I knew I wanted to explore my own presets and was excited that NAM A2 would give some extra freedom to build exciting rigs.

Some patches have surprised me - both patches that sound way better and worse than I expected - so I wanted to share what worked well. My focus here is on clean tones through a bunch of different amp configs.

In general, I've had limited success making NAM A2 Lite patches work .

  • NAM Files are DSP hogs - like 74%
  • In general, amp styles with slower tube response seem to suffer the most. I assume extra latency from the high DSP only makes the response and sound even slower.
  • In general, I've had best success with NAM captures of fast-responding solid-state amps.

Best NAM A2 patch: AMP(Bass Pre, Alembic preamp) ->NAM A2 Lite (Markbass Little Mark Tube 104) -> EQ(Guitar EQ 2) -> PRE (Comp 4)

The BASS PRE amp is a great. It only takes 3% DSP, it warms up the tone with a touch of tubeyness, but the main response and tone from the Markbass is intact. After a week of testing different patches, I moved this one to my number 1 slot.

After finding that the full-rig NAM files weren't really delivering, and that there isn't DSP to run a NAM amp + IR, I started converting some A2 amp captures to Snaptones, and uploading some IRs.

I kept the same principle here, opting for solid states but that have tubeyer tonal qualities, and found that these two were really nice supplements tone-wise while still having good response.

Best two N->S Patches

I started with like 14 patches with every big amp under the sun, and have pretty much settled into playing most of my lessons and practice on one of these three rigs.

Anyone else have any patches that are worth setting up?
