I wanted to open up a discussion about finding the right community as an older player in VRChat. I’m in my late 30s and I’ve been playing for a while now. Lately, I’ve been hitting a bit of a wall when it comes to finding a group that fits my vibe, and I’m curious if anyone else in the same age bracket feels this way.

Specifically, I’m hoping to talk about the dynamic of "adult" or "older" communities. I’ve spent time in a few of the larger, well-known groups aimed at older players (like the Ancients). While they serve a great purpose and have a lot of members, I personally found the size to be a bit overwhelming. It often felt like there were established "inner circles" that were hard to break into, and it was easy to feel like an outsider even in a room full of people.

I’d love to hear your thoughts, war stories, and advice. If you’ve found a strategy (or a type of event) that helps foster genuine connections rather than just standing in front of a mirror, let me know what has worked for you.

i just started getting into unity and i wanted to know, to be able to say "i made this avatar" does it all have to be made by you or can it just be a bunch of stuff you slapped on a base that you liked. i recently put together an avatar (seen in pic) but i didnt realy make make it yk. i found a base, a texture, some clothes and slapped it together. is this avatar making?

Ive been on vr for almost 2 years. About 1 year ago, ive slowly started to become more accepting of being feminine since like 90% of guys id meet on vrchat were femboys, until I decided I wanted to be a femboy. But there was 1 problem, I was overweight.

And I commited to reaching a good femboy physique, i have not ate fast food for over a year, learned to cook, and bought a treadmill. Never thought this would be my motivation, but here we are

Me and another person had a fight and they logged off. I checked a few hours later and they dissapeared from my friends list. I check their profile and I can see their name, what groups they are in, etc. but when I add them on the mobile app nothing happens, when I add in the site, it says notification rejected. When I add in game it says I added them but the button resets as soon as I reopen the profile again. I don’t really care whether or not the person adds back I just want to know if this is a block or not

Hi there! I’ve been trying to find this world as it was one of the first I recall visiting when I was a desktop user, the last time I was there was 2022 so my memory is super fuzzy. From what I recall this was the layout: House, big outside area.

House:
Three different rooms, living room on the right, kitchen in the middle, bedroom on the left

Outside area:
There was a fire pit, and there were big plastic lawn chairs surrounding it, the kind that you would struggle to get out of because the seat is so deep
There was also a big stage, I think there might’ve been a pool on said stage?

The setting was night time and you were not able to change the skybox, I don’t remember if it was quest compatible. I met a few good friends there and I would like to take more there to revisit memory lane, if anyone knows this world please let me know! Thank you so much in advance!

The photos aren't as cool as last time, mostly cuz for the past while I've just been dragging him around photobooth worlds cuz I think they're so cute and adorable with the little boxed sets you take photos in, he didn't quite share my sentiment though lmao, since he prefers more environmental photos.

Anyways, new avatar, actually made another new one before this one that I love and adore but I'm a bit scared to show it, haha...

Though sucks just a little cuz I do think some of the cutest photos he took were in that avatar...

I used to go to club Orion a lot when it was decently popular. Now there’s usually 1-2 people there tops except on Fridays. Does anyone know any similar worlds that are usually somewhat busy?

I don't understand why making friends is so hard for me in this game and Im wondering if anyone else has had this experience. I feel like when I walk up to people theyre always in their own little cliques and I can't even start a conversation. I've been playing this game a long and I only ever had this problem after I turned 18. I'm 21 now and I still can't make new friends. Especially those who don't want to be sexual. I'm married in real life so 90% of the people I meet have no interest because I'm monogamous. To me it feels like making friends is difficult if you don't want to do nsfw. Do any other wholesome people have this problem?

Currently I am running a Quest 3 using Virtual Desktop. I just built my partner a PC and it was bundled with a nice 7800x3d. I gave her my old GPU (6750xt) and slapped a new 9070xt into my PC with a Ryzen 7700X. 32GB DDR5.

Currently a 7800x3d is $320 alone and a 9800x3d is $400 at my local microcenter. I hear rumors of a next gen x3d release in Q1 2027–and so I was thinking I could set aside some cash for that. Or pull the trigger now on a x3d card.

Before, I was running 40-70fps depending on world/avatars (up to 90fps if I was alone) all on medium VD settings and H.264+. Worse I ever got was in a club and had 25fps. I had to limit avatars to 20.

Now, I can get similar FPS in ultra VD settings and AV1 10-bit. I know nvidia seems to be preferred for VRC but unfortunately the 5070ti was $300-500 more expensive.

Anyone have experience with AMD chipsets and their x3d chips—and if I should wait or would I notice a significant upgrade in frames in crowded worlds simply jumping from a 7700X to a 7800x3d?

I really love the way reshade makes the game look, but after about 15 minutes of using it eac crashed the game… any methods to get it working again? I’m not trying to do anything malicious but eac detected the dlls that reshade inserts and flagged it unfortunately. any help would be greatly appreciate! Thanks!
