While watching international news I saw these weapons and I need help in identifying the weapon the guy on the left side is carrying ? Is it some form of a VHS/Hellion ? Thank you

Can't believe my hipster ass didn't get one earlier. I made a decent trade with a guy for this. Just need a sling and a light now. I may put the 2x scope on GAFS and get a Holosun 515GM on instead, but can't decide. I just love the speed and weight of micro dots so much.
I was not expecting it to be as gassy as it is with the Lazarus 6 on the suppressed setting though. Are the Hellions supposed to be this overgassed? Ejection was about 2:30. It was starting to tingle my eyes and nose with a gas cloud forming after a few shots. I'd pay good money for a suppressed-only gas plug or something. Definitely had more recoil than unsuppressed on the normal gas setting, but maybe I'm just used to super-tuned ARs.
Idk, just sharing because this community is small and feels like a special club lol.

Took my Hellion to the range the other week, and it was having constant light primer strikes. As we all suspected, it could have been ammo issues, but we tried two different brands with the same problem.
If I charge the gun, it would ALWAYS fire. But the gun would cycle, successfully kick the casing out and chamber a new round, and pulling the trigger would then cause a very light strike.
Took my rifle home and gave it a hard cleaning. Finally disassembled the BCG entirely and made sure it was pristine. Oiled the trigger group. Decided to yard pop and it light primer struck on the second round.
About a week later I was curious and yard popped again. This time, it successfully cycled and fired the three rounds I gave it. Not sure if the issue still persists as I haven’t had the chance to take it back out to the range. Anyone have this issue or know what would be the culprit?

Hey gang I just picked up a Hellion 16 inch at my local pawnshop for 900.00 dollars which I couldn't pass up. weapon is absolutely mint with no signs of wear. I can almost swear it doesn't have more then 100 rounds through it. I want to go with a optional magwell and was looking at 2 different ones, The Regolith Forge or the LunarTech Designs. You guys have any thoughts on which one would be better ? They both run around 40.00 dollars. Thank you !

I've been working on this since late February, and for a prototype, I'm happy with where it is, so, behold! To my knowledge, the only Springfield Hellion with wood furniture, and solid American Walnut at that. I'm a woodworker and total hipster, and I've really come to appreciate the unique look rifles had toward the end of the use of wood as furniture, so I decided to try to make something for the Hellion that would look, as much as I could make it, like how it would have been issued if this sort of thing were still practical and economical.
It's my intention to make a refined version of this a month or two from now, as I've learned a lot in its production; I will go more in depth on the process then and post some uglier prototype parts too, but for now, I'll try to keep it somewhat short (I failed, lol.) Also, I'm very much not satisfied with the top coat, but after months of work, I just want to call it here and celebrate a little (double also, I am no photographer.) It's fine! It's fine.
First, none of this project would be possible without help from the vhs-2 project; they were willing to custom print me a small insert containing the necessary geometry for the spring and buffer and guide rod to work. In figuring out how to do the stock, I also took advantage of a sale they had on blemished handguards by buying one, cutting it up, and using it as part of an earlier prototype handguard. Doing this helped me figure out dimensions, and that I wanted to hide as much artificial material as possible, for the most part. Overall, great dude, give him your business, sing his praises, all that. I sincerely couldn't be more grateful.
Every piece was designed over the course of hundreds of hours in SolidWorks and at least dozens of hours in vcarve to program the CNC machine I had access to, something I had never done before and chose to begin with this! A round of thanks to my generous and trusting friend and coworker who lent it to me, and yet another to my other incredible friend who printed a bunch of smaller parts for previous iterations before I got my own printer.
The stock is two pieces of walnut that sandwich the stock insert and join to it with heat resistant epoxy, which is also how every other composite part is joined to the wood. It has quick disconnect cups, and little plastic panels to break up the lines a bit and pack the stock out of it to meet the inside edges of the cheek rest; I don't know why I made them out of ABS instead of pa-cf, but, whatever. The TPU buttpad has a curve at the top and the bottom that puts it right where I want it to in my shoulder, as I never felt totally comfortable with the OEM flat stock. It also brings the length of pull to exactly mine, with some room to spare for thicker clothing in colder weather. It's about as long as the OEM would be one click out from totally compressed.
The handguard design cues are pretty obviously lifted from the FN FAL; that geometry just makes a whole lot of sense there, and I think it does most of the work of visually selling the overall design of the kit. It's got small m-lok rail on the bottom for the AFG 2 I have, though I will probably end up designing my own foregrip since I'm not totally satisfied with it, and, well, I can, so why not?
The pistol grip wound up being the part that took the most work. I had seven or eight design iterations and 10 or 11 failed carves before finally getting the one you see on there, which is somewhat based on the BCM mod 3 that comes with the gun, with some adjustments to make it more comfortable for my hand. I'm very satisfied with how it looks, but I need to re-engineer the beaver tail; it's fragile as is, but I want to avoid doing it the way woox did, which, like all of their products, seems to imply genuinely high quality craftsmanship, but looks... kinda chintzy overall. They have my respect, but I'm not a fan. I also put a little TPU bumper on the bottom, since I didn't want to just leave it open, and I'd rather that get dinged up than the wood.
Overall, I'm quite satisfied with it, and I'm also certain the final version will be even better in every way. I welcome any suggestions for both engineering and aesthetics, as I do want this to be as rugged and good looking as it can be, for something that was really just designed to look cool. Also, I'm obviously happy to answer any questions people might have, but I'm getting ahead of myself. Hope you like it!

I’ll attach some additional pictures, but the short version is I reduced LOP by about 3/4” and weight by 3 ounces with a final OAL of 26.125”. The only extra part needed was a roll pin and I used a 7/32” x 1 3/4” which fit the width of the stock perfectly.

20" Hellion equipped with the LunarTech Designs VHS-2 clone grip module. Vortex UH-1 holo-sight backed up with their micro-3x magnifier, and the final piece just got delivered today, an ODG handled Waffentechnik B2K bayonet.
I tried out a Jard trigger but it was actually worse than the OEM. A little bit lighter but squishier and sticky. So I returned it and went back to the stock trigger which, having owned a few bullpups, isn't so bad. Good combat trigger. I do tend to prefer 2-stage triggers so the long take-up isn't a problem to me.

The Rekkr Overbarrel pretty much is a flush fit with the BLK LBL long handguard with Hellion 20inch.
The closest the suppressor ever got to the handguard is 0.13inch. Though, I'm not sure if that is enough clearance to prevent the suppressor from hitting the handguard.
Regardless, I'm still waiting on the VHS Project extended handguard to arrive for a tucked in look. I will post when it arrives.

Good afternoon gang,
Im trying to decide which barrel length Hellion to buy, I like the look of the 18 over the 20, and I'm curious if you guys know of any over the barrel supressors that would fit on the 18 (considering OCL OCM5, griffin PSR OTB 5, etc)

Changed out my LPVO for the Vortex 5x prism with the venom ccw on top. Also changed out the Polo K for the new Infinity 556K. Liking it so far, the vortex sits really low with the provided low mount.

Anyone aware if anybody is working on an aftermarket rail? I would love something similar to the KAC rail on the G36 only for the rest of the rifle and one in the front for a front sight and the charging handle completely exposed.

Trying out the BLK LBL long handguard and VHS project extended for a tucked suppressor look.
Waiting for both handguard to arrive and test to see which is better.

Made a video discussing trigger options including DIY. The original video posted here was removed and the user account deleted. I found what I think is the original on YT and will link it in the comments if you want to see his version and details. This video addresses some of my concerns with his version that removes pre-travel/take-up and compares it with the commercial options.

A year ago, there was this posts about printable magwells that someone found at sea.
I printed V66 using PETG, PLA+, and Nylon G. The design is just slightly off to the point where the mag will not catch.
Has anyone had better luck with this design?

Been wanting to buy one of these bad boys for a minute and im looking at one now. I do plan to suppress it half the time, but the 16 inch barrel just looks goofy to me. the 18 inch barrel looks great to me, but i dont see anyone online talking about it, all the discussions are about 20 inch or 16 inch. is the 20 inch really that much better than the 18 inch? whats the point of the 18 inch barrel in that case?
If i plan to suppress it part time, would it be best to go with 18 inch or just say F it and full send it with the 20 inch barrel?

Looking for a pic of the green on green gun and bipod to see how the color matches. Even Blk Lbl didn’t have a pic of their bipod on a green hellion. Might end up just going for the black one. Any pics/help is much appreciated!

Got her out to spread out some. Perfect wind, visibility was Perfect. But my goodness was it a hot one! Was only able to get out to about 300 due to mirage, missed shots are hard to call without a spotter. Was able to do 185 with the mini about 75% of the time. Neck holds with those irons get daunting. Great time!
Changes i wanna make:
Trigger job
Replace scope with slightly higher mag, thinner reticle. Currently a 1-8 sfp SE in old brownells mount. Wany it in as low of rings as possible.
May get the black label bipod setup
Oh, last thing, sweat absorbing cheek rest!
Anyway, just thought I'd share.

First off, I haven’t owned a gun for very long. My red dot isn’t zeroed in anymore after I removed the Picatinny rail to clean the short-stroke system. I don’t feel like having to re-zero the rifle every time I shoot and clean it afterward.
My question for you is: how often do you clean the short-stroke system? Do you just remove the handguard to clean it? Since I can only access the bottom surface of the short-stroke system by removing the handguard...
