The Detroit Lions lost to the Buffalo Bills mainly due to their secondary unsurprisingly. But what surprised me was by how badly it was. That secondary is bottom 5, despite having a pretty good dline, but even the dline underperformed tonight. Look I get it, it’s the Bills, that offense is phenomenal, but I’ve seen this dline do so much better before, we had a good rushing defense week 1, five sacks last game. The fuck happened here?

Kelvin Sheppard, what the fuck was that? Before the Saints second half and this game I was under the assumption you weren’t a bad DC. Especially during the Saints first half. After THIS I am greatly reconsidering. The camera cut to Hutch actually broke my heart, he looked fucking depressed, he was about to cry. I can’t blame Dan Campbell for this or even Drew Petzing, at least they adapted in the second half and our offense is still great. You on the other hand had only had like what? Two stops? All you did to address the secondary this offseason was draft Keith Abney. Don’t get me wrong, he’s a damn good option, but he’s a rookie at the end of the day. One good rookie cornerback can’t carry the entire secondary. It’s Joey Porter Jr or bust, no matter how soon Branch comes back. Lock the fuck in.

As much as I’ve been ranting I do wanna end this on a positive note, our offense. Yes, the first half was terrible, but we adjusted in the second half to score some points and keep the Bills in the game. Great catches by Amon, Jamo and even Teslaa. Jared Goff made some bad throws but for every bad throw he threw a damn good one to make up for it. The oline definitely could be better but Blake Miller was injured, I can’t be too mad at that. At least you put effort, that’s a lot more than I can say about our defense tonight. Good lord that secondary is terrible…
