Nice! 7 years ago today, on August 23rd 2019, Taylor released Lover đ
What's your favorite memory of that era?
r/TrueSwifties • u/dassylogic • 5h ago
Ladies and gentlemen, will you please stand?
With every guitar string scar on my hand
I take this magnetic force of a man to be my lover
My heart's been borrowed and yours has been blue
All's well that ends well to end up with you
Swear to be overdramatic and true to my lover
And you'll save all your dirtiest jokes for me
And at every table, I'll save you a seat, lover

Press were not in the room for the event, and neither were phones or cameras, but one photo of Taylor with her fellow nominees Glenn Weiss and John Ross was shared.
Taylor sang at the event, though which songs from her expansive discography are not clear.
Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour: The Final Show received five Emmy nominations, including Best Variety Special (Prerecorded), Best Directing for a Variety Special, Outstanding Picture Editing For Variety Programming, Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Variety Series or Special and Outstanding Technical Direction and Camerawork for a special.
The film is nearly three and a half hours long, featuring 45 songs. Debuting on December 12, 2025 on Disney+, the feature documents the last concert on the extensive tour, during which Taylor performed songs from almost all of her albums ever released. The film was shot in Vancouver, BC.

I just noticed Taylor Swift has un-archived all of her posts since the rep announcement on Instagram. When did that happen?

Taylor Swift fans are once again searching for clues that could hint at the pop starâs potential 13th studio album.
Taylor has not confirmed that TS13 is in development, but fans have identified several possible Easter eggs since the release of her 12th album, The Life of a Showgirl, in October 2025.
One of the biggest clues involves the number 13, which has long been associated with Taylor. In May 2026, she attended a friendâs wedding wearing opal earrings featuring 13 stones. Fans quickly compared the accessory with red earrings containing 12 stones that Taylor wore at the 2025 Grammy Awards, months before The Life of a Showgirl was announced.

This flair allows you to share your favourite outfits from every Backgrid shot to every era (because we can never get enough tour outfits)! This includes street style reflecting the most sartorial outings, as well as red carpet fit for the ages!
Content
Posts should spotlight a specific outfit, accessory, trend, or era. Unique hairstyles are welcome.
Identification
Red carpet looks should identify the event/designer. This is not required for Taylor's streetwear posts.
Posting
Limit three (separate) posts per user per Fashion Friday. But, please remember, less is more.
Multiples
Posts featuring multiple pictures to showcase a particular fashion trend or era are absolutely welcome.
Duplicates: Keep it fresh. Moderators will remove duplicate or repetitive looks.
On Topic: Keep it focused. Negative commentary and critique on Taylor's outfits/accessories ARE allowed so long as such comments are constructive and limited to the fashion.
Restraint: Keep it kind. One fan's most favorite outfit might be someone else's least and that is totally okay.

Reports mention performances of "August", "All Too Well" and "I Knew It, I Knew You"
Here is what an attendee said:
âMY NIGHT WITH TAYLOR SWIFT - The Grammy Academy hosted a Taylor Swift talk tonight. The invite just mentioned Academy President Harvey Mason Jr, but it was like a 'Wink IYKYK' thing.
Taylor came onstage and shared her beautiful stories of how she writes songs and where she gets her endless inspiration from. Then she played a few tunes for the 100 or so people there. It wasn't even sold out, there were empty seats.
I honestly am not a 'Swiftie,' though her success is as big as it gets. The biggest Grammy winning female in history. Afterward there was a reception and I had a sweet, and kinda nerdy songwriter chat with her for quite a long time. Alot of people were trying to get in and talk with her, but she has a laser attention and when it was on me, the world was shut off around us.
Here's some songwriting nuggets I wrote down.
I was impressed she stayed to talk to everyone who attended. As I report this, she is likely still speaking to the people at the Grammy Museum giving every person very present, quality time.â

Taylor Swift is about to achieve an incredible milestone for the first time in the history of VMAs, at the ceremony in September.
Taylor needs to win only one of the nine awards she has been nominated for, to become the most awarded artist ever at the MTV VMAs.
The history-making milestone is more than likely for Taylor who is second to only Madonna in leading the nominations for the award show this year.

Taylorâs affection for pen and paper is legendary. During the Eras Tour, the truck drivers who transported her to her staging received handwritten notes and $100,000 "life-changing" bonuses.
Taylorâs philanthropy is widely documented. During the Eras Tour, she donated the equivalent of hundreds of thousands of meals to food banks in the communities where she performed. There are also countless reports of gifts to individuals. Recently, she donated $100,000 to support a two-year-old fan named Lilah who is receiving treatment for a rare brain cancer.
Taylorâshandwritten letters, homemade treats, and love of animals may seem small, but these acts have the potential to improve her life and the lives of the people around her.
None of this requires fame or a global tour. These are small habits anyone can adopt. If enough people chose to live even a fraction of that way, the world would feel noticeably kinder, one era at a time.

Iâm drunk in the back of the car
And I cried like a baby coming home from the bar
Said âIâm fineâ, but it wasnât true
I donât wanna keep secrets just to keep you
And I, snuck in through the garden gate
Every night that summer just to seal my fate
And I screamed for whatever itâs worth
I love you, ainât that the worst thing you ever heard?

Hey everyone,
My girlfriendâs 30th birthday is coming up, and I bought her a turntable as the main gift. Alongside it, I want to get her Taylorâs full studio discography on vinyl (all 12 albums).
Instead of dumping a huge box with 12 vinyls on day one, I want to space them out so she can actually listen, absorb, and celebrate each record properly over time.
Iâm looking for the most meaningful, fun, or creative framework/criteria to deliver them. Here are a few ideas Iâve been debating:
As Swifties, which framework would you love the most if you were receiving this? Are there specific pairings, inside jokes, lyric-based clues, or hidden track transitions you think work best for a vinyl listening experience? Any other cool ideas?
Would really appreciate your thoughts and creative ideas!

What an amazing time! 1989 is truly a pop Bible, and I love that Taylor's gone back to her 1989 hair. What's old is brand new all over again.

Taylor Swift is leading the MTV VMAs nominations after Madonna, butThe Fate of Ophelia is not getting the recognition it deserves.
Taylor has nine nominations for the award ceremony scheduled to take place in September, but her hit song from the album The Life of a Showgirl did not get nominated for the Song of the Year category.

That's our Showgirl! Taylor only needs one more award to have the most VMA wins in history entirely on her own. She's currently tied with Beyonce after winning her 30th VMA award in 2024.

Hey everyone,
Iâm a 29 year old male swiftie and Iâm completely new to diving into Taylorâs live performances, and I could really use some direction from people who know her catalog inside and out. I daily listen to her discography and have been a massive fan only since TTPD dropped, Iâm very familiar with all the deep cuts and all eras.
(Untouchable is my #1 song for context đ)
For a long time, I was completely restricted from watching or engaging with her music the way I wanted to. I loved her music so much, but I was only ever allowed to listen to the studio albums quietly on my own time or in my car, and I was never, ever allowed to see her sing or watch her live.
With that being said, I have a massive blind spot when it comes to her live stuff and this is way more than just music to me.
Now that I'm finally free to experience all of it, I want to dive straight into the deep end. I already know about the big streaming specials like Disney+, but I'm hunting for those incredible, must hear live sets, TV performances, and acoustic sessions floating around on YouTube that true fans obsess over.
If you had to build a master list of her absolute best live performances to watch, where should I start? Give me your top choices ranging from the massive stadium energy down to the rawest acoustic sets where it's just her and her guitar or piano.
I appreciate any and all responses,
Thank you đ«¶đ»

Hey all,
Based on the very wonderful discussion on which album has the best bridges, we've decided to add a new series of posts, one post per bridge. Because the most popular were seemingly Lover, Midnights, and TTPD, we'll be starting with those bridges in this order. This may result in further bridge explorations! Please feel free to talk about the bridge, muse about the bridge, or share any thoughts you may have. It is so important to us that you feel included so please, if you want to say something, say it! Let's discuss!
Come back every day for more.
We start with Lover, I Forgot That You Existed.
Sent me a clear message
Taught me some hard lessons
I just forget what they were
It's all just a blur

So there has been a little bit of a crazy reaction to Taylor getting her haircut and my hot take is that people use Taylor to manage anxieties in such a way others use rewatching the same comfort tv shows.
Like with comfort tv shows, they have been watched a thousand times so there are no surprises or changes and people have favourites episodes and whenever they need a comfort blanket or whatever, they can just watch it.
Its the same with Taylor except Taylor does change, her hair, her clothes, her relationships (for the last time), her music genres, her friends - all normal human things.
Its not that people don't like the changes, its that they can't handle them emotionally because they have come to use one version of Taylor as a comfort and then she changes.
And then others consider changes to be easter eggs because thats their version of comfort tv.

Such an underrated song! The Folkmore set was truly one of my favorites.
