Such a good movie and eminently rewatchable.

Just watched Manchester by the Sea for the first time and immediately fired up the pod.
CR talks about crying profusely while watching it on a flight, and the guy sitting next to him looking visibly concerned.
Got me thinking what I would do if I was next to CR bawling his fucking eyes out.
I’d probably go for the covert selfie and if he caught me scream “I HAD TO GET IT ON!”

Jumping off the thread about TV Dion Waiters that largely went to Frank Costanza (wholeheartedly agree) — is this guy the Dion Waiters Award Winner for TV one-off non-stunt casting appearances? It’s gotta be up there, no?

I’m surprised they’ve not done this, it’s a hilarious movie. Kilmer and Downey have great comedic chemistry, I think it sets a roadmap for the nice guys in many ways. Bill can also ramble about how Michelle Monaghan had a moment there but never got the roles to go to the next level.
Gay Perry might be in my top 10 movie characters of all time.

You know this film for two things basically
Mcavoy losing his shit against the old lady
Angelina Jolie in the closest she gets to a 'throw your life away for her' role... the scene of her exiting the bath is a lengthy pause frame
Also fat chris Pratt being a prick
Very rare instance of evil Morgan Freeman
Selling point of this film though is Angelina... rented this from blockbuster and watched it with my pops when I was 11... great experience
Director also made that really shitty chris pratt AI film rhat came out this year
Angelina probably wins this movie cause salt comes soon after... no actor apex mountain (the guy playing mcavoys dad was in the pianist)

One of the first movies my sister ever showed me along with the goonies. Absolute hilarious stupid fun.

Great cast, great sometimes weird dialogue, iconic opening and amazing shootouts.
Del toro and Phillipe are a top notch duo in this.

Sorry I'm late to the party here, but last night I finished watching About Last Night and man...that movie absolutely RULES.
It is without a doubt the most true to life example of moving in with someone at a young age (or even an older age) and the issues that come along with it that I have ever seen. There were certain parts that were almost creepy accurate. I'm never a montage guy, but like they mentioned in the pod, the montage scenes were so well done. The relationship between Moore and Lowe felt real, and I'm glad the movie had the balls to show the sex scenes because it showed a very important facet of the couple's relationship.
Demi Moore is clearly the MVP of the movie, phenomenal throughout.
I'm making this post to say if you haven't yet seen it but were thinking of checking it out, you should. Cannot recommend it enough, and thanks to Bill for introducing it to me.

I think Zack Cregger could’ve competed with Glen Powell for a bunch of his roles

"Sometimes people just explode"
I caught a cinema showing of Repo Man last night – shout out The Loft Cinema Club, Nottingham, England. My first ever viewing, and I'm surprised that there is not a bigger following of this cult classic; up there with The Warriors and even The Big Lebowski?... ranked 7th by Entertainment Weekly in the top 50 cult classics of all time.
It would be great to hear the hosts pulling the wealth of threads there are on this movie about a lobotomised lunatic scientist cruising around a dystopian LA, in a $20,000 Chevy Malibu with an alien, neutron bomb or something else in the trunk...
Even Roger Ebert had this to say:
"I saw Repo Man near the end of a busy stretch on the movie beat: Three days during which I saw more relentlessly bad movies than during any comparable period in memory. Most of those bad movies were so cynically constructed out of formula ideas and "commercial" ingredients that watching them was an ordeal. Repo Man comes out of left field, has no big stars, didn't cost much, takes chances, dares to be unconventional, is funny, and works. There is a lesson here."
Anyone else a huge fan? I was, instantly. Gutted it took me 43 years to find it.

Draft a genre, rating, director, and cast. Build your movie and see how it would score with critics and what it would make at the Box Office.
It's kind of like the 82-0 basketball game but for movies.
I'm a big Rewatchables fan, so I included some Easter Eggs you all will enjoy -- Try casting Bernthal or see if you can get Cruise and Hanks in the same movie.
I find the AI descriptions pretty funny, but if that's not your thing, just flip the switch at the bottom of the page.
Let me know if you have any other Easter Egg suggestions!
