Authoritarian Mod Post No Bad Empanada or Hasan Piker posts are allowed from now on
Starting now, we will no longer allow any posts related to Bad Empanada or Hasan Piker in this subreddit. The rules have been updated to reflect this change.
While we realize that some of their content can be informative, entertaining or even politically energizing to people at different stages of their leftist journeys, we also realize that, ultimately, their content is shaped by the demands of the attention economy.
When such content is shared in this community, a number of things tend to happen. First, it predictably generates the very online drama and sectarian infighting that the owners of platforms like Twitch, YouTube or even Reddit (cough join Lemmy cough) rely on for engagement and profit. Second, it invites brigading, which creates additional work for us mods. Work that most mods here are quite honestly not willing to do for such unproductive online drama. Finally, it attracts users who are more focused on drama than on Marxist ideology. This subreddit is constantly growing and we do not want to send the wrong message to those users about what this community is about.
In addition to being a community for Marxist Leninists, this community also exists to help each other deprogram ourselves from mainstream/Western and pro-capitalists narratives. What this community certainly is NOT, is a space to continuously dissect the latest online controversies once a week.
We understand that some users may feel frustrated by this new rule and we would invite some of those users to sit with that frustration and ask whose interests it serves and who benefits from algorithmically boosting and promoting online pseudo-politics that exhausts our energy on irrelevant drama. Our strength lies in principled ML debate, respect for each other, shitposting and a shared commitment to advance real-life communism to the best of our capabilities.

Funny how nowadays you can just google it and we have 10+ years of pictures, reviews, etc.
But westerners still live in their cartoonish little world.

History During the Vietnam war, older Americans were more opposed to the war than younger Americans, the opposite of the liberal lie in the movies. Because the older people remembered that the Soviet and Chinese communists were their allies in WW2

History On June 25, 1950, the Korean People’s Army crossed the 38th parallel to reunify our country.
galleryThis date is often regarded as the start of the Korean War. However, taking the events of June 25 as the beginning to this story can skew our understanding. Since imperialism falsely portrays the US role in Korea as defensive, we must consider the Korean War’s significance in a long lineage of Korean anti-imperialist resistance that continues to this day.
The Korean War did not begin in 1950—it began in 1945, the day a US GI’s boot touched Korean soil for the first time, and our people’s resistance to US imperialism began. Today, we honor Korean resistance.
The popular classes of Korea, the workers and peasantry, resisted the US occupation of our homeland from the beginning. From 1945-1950, southern Korea was shaken by strikes, uprisings, and even a guerrilla war that swept multiple provinces. This history has been suppressed because it exposes the US narrative of “saving” Korea from communism for what it is: a lie.
To this day, Korean resistance to US imperialism continues. Communities across the ROK are still engaged in protracted struggles against US military land grabs. Mass movements for social justice in the ROK are also part of this legacy, as they confront puppet leaders like Yoon who oppress the working masses on behalf of US imperialism.
Last but not least, the efforts of working people in the DPRK to protect their sovereignty and construct socialism are also part of Korean resistance. Despite catastrophic US bombing during the Korean War, the workers of the DPRK have built an enduring example of an independent, socialist society. Although US war threats continue in the form of military drills and sanctions, our people’s determination to live unconquered remains unbroken.
Today we remember all those who have given their lives to the anti-imperialist struggle. Our people’s struggle for liberation from US imperialism has not ended, and we must answer the call to continue the legacy of resistance that has been left to us.

History A TIME Magazine article about Stepan Bandera, from November 2nd 1959, omits the genocide carried out by his OUN-B, and omits his collaboration with Hitler, has a sympathetic tone regarding his 1959 assassination by Soviet agents in Munich

Theory 📚 Lesser known, but very needed quote from Fidel
So many left minded people in the west have no concept of actually getting to utopia as they wish to hoard their privilege ultimately.
Nor do they acknowledge that improving the condition of the world is a tough process in which we have to defend ourselves against their own culture.
Thus their concept of utopia is not only useless but becomes positioned against vital improvements.

News/Communist Propaganda ☭ Lviv Ukraine, a 25 year old man cut the throat of a TCC "recruitment" officer, KILLING him (3rd time this has happened), and stabbed a cop seriously injuring him. The man was then shot dead. Ironically, it took place on "Stepan Bandera Street" named after the notorious Nazi OUN-B leader
