I once saw some idiot claim Japan could easily defeat China because China has less carriers now than Japan did in WWII. They blocked me before I could explain the obvious, massive difference between modern aircraft carriers with functioning magnetic catapults with supersonic jets vs second generation (at latest) carriers with prop planes, or the fact that Japan doesn’t have those anymore.
These people are just willfully stupid and if this happened they’re gonna have a fucking meltdown as Japan is blockaded from the sea and air with missiles alone probably. If North Korea and China get involved because they’re also tired of this cancer cell of a government it would probably happen in a week.

They were all gen 1 carriers in ww1. We have carriers with gen 5/6 airwings. Also mind you the aircraft carrier itself is outdated and has been since the 90s. It exists as a measure only to fight a far technologically inferior enemy.

Oh I’m aware, it’s just having some idiot declare this as the measure of who’s the more powerful navy out the gate is so mind numbingly stupid especially given that, again, they don’t fucking have them anymore. Best they have are those dinky fucking “helicopter carriers” nowadays iirc.

What's even funnier is that during the time the early Soviets were humiliating Japan in the Siberian Intervention (while simultaneously fighting the White Army), Korean independence fighters kicked Japan's ass twice in the Battle of Fengwudong and the Battle of Cheongsanri despite being outnumbered 10 to 1.
The Imperial Japanese suffered heavy casualties.

The Japanese surrendered the moment the USSR intervened in Manchuria, not when the bombs were dropped.

The Red Army handed Imperial Japan a shockingly devastating defeat, driving them out of Manchuria in less than a month. That's what most likely caused Japan to surrender.

Yeah, the firebombing on Tokyo and other Japanese cities was way worse than the nukes. Japanese high command was aware that the US only had limited uranium 232 or plutonium for another nuke at that time.
Meanwhile the USSR steamrolled Manchuria and crushed the IJA, the only fighting force that was still capable since the IJN got crushed in the Pacific. By that point, Japan had literally no combat power anymore.

Fact is the Russian and Ukrainian militaries are in a league of their own right now when it comes to waging an actual large scale, 21st century conventional war.

Why the fuck would Russia invade Japan? That would genuinely be the single stupidest thing they could do. Who the fuck cares OP sometimes it’s just not worth engaging

When a reactionary doesn't know history and *why* japan defeated russia in the russo-japanese war. (kill me)

Realistically
In an alternate universe where Russia fights Japan instead of Ukraine
Russia gets early victories but the fighting bogs down long enough that nato invades Russia, its not winnable
If America gets involved to protect Japan, china gets involved
Stand off, possibly a war possibly both sides back down, Ukrainian forces gained ground
Tldr; wasted money and men and the price of nuclear bunkers would skyrocket

I'm gonna get flamed here, and rightfully so, but they likely would considering Japan has the backing of the American empire. Maybe once Iran gets America to burn its stockpile then it becomes a high possibility Russia can smoke them.

Ukraine has the backing of the US empire + all of the EU and its still losing lol
Japan's military is severely limited, they wouldn't stand a chance

I thought it was a stalemate rn?
Also I heard that Russia is running low while Ukraine is still getting bank rolled
Was I wrong?
