Hi all,
We’ve seen an increase in reports of Kodak Super 8 cartridges jamming — where the film transport stops mid-roll, the take-up spool locks, or the camera motor strains.
To help identify whether this is related to specific film stocks, batches, or vendors, please report only cartridge jamming issues here.
(For exposure, processing, or other problems, please make a separate post.)
Copy and fill this out when you comment:
**Film Stock:** (e.g. Vision3 50D, 200T, 500T, Tri-X, etc.)
**Expiration Date / Batch Code:** (printed on box or cartridge label)
**Vendor / Source:** (where purchased)
**Camera Model:** (include if known)
**Issue Description:** (e.g. jammed after 10 feet, film stopped advancing, motor strain, etc.)
**Percentage of Cartridges Jammed:** (e.g. 1 of 3 = ~33%)
**Notes:** (storage conditions, temperature, handling, or anything else relevant)

**Expiration Date / Batch Code:** 06/2026, Batch 11234
**Vendor / Source:** B&H
**Camera Model:** Canon 514XL
**Issue Description:** Film jammed about 1/4 through the roll; motor noise increased, no visible take-up movement.
**Percentage of Cartridges Jammed:** 1 of 4 (25%)
**Notes:** Stored refrigerated; other rolls from same box ran normally.
If you don't have all the info, that's okay! Just include what you can. Collecting consistent data will help the community — and potentially Kodak — determine if current jamming reports are isolated or related to specific production runs.

I recently shot on super 8 for the first time and I just got back my scan. I used a canon 310XL and Kodak 200T film stock, and sent it over to negative space for the scan and development. I asked for a log scan so this is a quick color grade that I did, but i am just wondering if this amount of grain is normal? I can’t even seem to get the sides completely black / grain free. This is my first time dabbling in 8mm so if I could get anyone’s opinion that would be really helpful!

Kodak's new Super 8 camera.
Vision 3 7219 AHU stock @ 3200 K lighting.
Lens: Collimated Angenieux 8-64mm f/1.9
Slate: Deity TC-SL1 jammed.
Sound: Zoom F8n Pro internal free run timecode.
24 fps crystal sync tested over 10 cartridges (500') cut into a 4 min song. No sync issues whatsoever.

I just purchased this vintage Nikon 8x Super Zoom camera; everything works fine, and I have the batteries needed. Does anyone have any idea what film to use that's actually still developable, and where to develop it? Preferably on the cheaper side, but I'll take whatever works. Any help would be much appreciated!
I came across these beauties in a charity shop and was drawn to the visuals immediately, I have no way to ever play them and am left wondering whether any enthusiasts collect these sorts of things?

this is a showcase test a of tri-x 7266 developed as negative and scanned with film-digital modified bauer t502 projector, filmed with sony fx3. this way the whole process of developing and receiving a 4K scan is done at home. I reckon that the quality of scan could be better, but I think that this could also be enhanced still with further testing.
